1 Month Break

Hey everyone,

I know this probably isn’t the news you were hoping for, but unfortunately, it's necessary. With the upcoming release of Book 6 on Amazon, I just don’t have the bandwidth to finish editing it, review the audiobook, create the interior manuscript, make cover edits, and also write Book 7 at the same time (while also working a regular 9 to 5 and raising a family).

That said, I think one issue was setting the release schedule so close after Book 5 (only four months a...

JUDICATOR JANE 7 - CHAPTER 3

Searching

Ducking his head, Gral’gor stepped beneath a thick support beam that braced the low ceiling of one of Integra’s winding subterranean corridors. The dwarven city was a maze of cramped halls and narrow doorways—each just barely high enough for him. As he passed, curious eyes peered out from slatted openings, vanishing with whispers behind iron-bound stone.

He moved slowly, rubbing his fingers together in thought, his gaze sweeping across every surf...

Another Order

Jane straightened her shoulders and clenched her teeth, her eyes locked on the encampment of former human slaves gathered from across the Mandalas. Their numbers didn’t come close to matching the demons, but the group was still sizable. Makeshift camps dotted the edge of the mountains—ragged clusters of tents and lean-tos cobbled together from whatever they could find. Most of the people here were soldiers—men and women her army had encountered in ...

Preparations

Hands on her hips, Jane hovered high above jagged peaks, scanning a desolate stretch of rocky canyons and cliffs west of the Dirthian capital, Integra. Mountains surged like frozen waves beneath her, ridges stretching to the horizon, untouched and uninhabited. No towns, no roads—just stone and silence.

As good a place as any, she decided.

Jane exhaled, then opened her System details, double checking the skill she had in mind.

Small Delay... Book 7 Starts July 30th

Hey all, just a quick update. No new chapters today, but we will be starting Book 7 next week. I think as a rule of thumb I'm going to need to take a week to consolidate my thoughts in between books.

Feel free to reach out if you'd like any of the audio books in the meanwhile.

JUDICATOR JANE 6 - CHAPTER 54

Making the Best of It

Stepping out through the small bank door, Jane emerged into the cool night air. The stars shimmered overhead, clear and bright above the vast half-domed walls. In her hand, she clutched a small pouch of gold coins—a parting withdrawal she’d made on instinct, barely aware she’d even done it.

Outside, everyone was waiting.

Gral’gor stood tall and silent. Balostroze loomed beside him, flanked by Veralaktus, Crakkis, Ixcaralith, T...

Thrumvalor was snoring contentedly, lost in a magnificent dream of unearthing a vein of Arcanite the size of a boulder. The colors shimmered, the crystals glittered with untapped potential, and he could almost feel the weight of wealth in his calloused hands—until the dream shattered under the persistent sound of knocking.

“What?” he groaned, tightening the blanket around his shoulders like a stubborn cocoon. The knocking didn’t stop—in fa...

Bureaucracy

Jane stepped cautiously into the wide plaza, her eyes sweeping across the space. It wasn’t fully enclosed, as she’d first assumed. Another road intersected the one she’d taken, cutting cleanly through the half-domed plaza at a perpendicular angle. From a distance, it appeared completely unobstructed—an open channel through the stone.

She moved toward the massive doors ahead. Towering above her, etched high into the rock, was a worn symbol—s...

Canyons and Cliffs

Standing at the edge of a vast gorge, Jane planted her hands on her hips, eyes scanning the rugged landscape that stretched before them. Jagged mountains twisted between steep valleys and sun-scorched gullies, a stark and unforgiving terrain that drew a hard line between the verdant Mandala of Beauty and the wild, desolate lands to the south. The endless fields were finally behind them—but now, in their place, lay a labyrinth of stone and shadow.<...

“And then this Loremaster guy just looks me dead in the eye and says, ‘Nope, nothing I can do about it.’ Just like that.” Jane lifted her hands and wiggled her thumbs with theatrical exasperation. “So unless I somehow free every last slave on the continent within the next year, I can kiss these suckers goodbye.” She shook her head and let out a heavy sigh, the weight of it all briefly breaking through her light demeanor.

Beside her, Dyle had...

Out of Time

Mint coughed harshly, another cloud of grit rising around him as the air in the narrow tunnel vibrated with every movement. His hand trembled while channeling healing energy, the glow barely steady as it seeped into his chest. That should hold—for now. Jeric staggered past, pale and gaunt, and Mint reached out, brushing his shoulder to invoke Mending Touch on the weary boy. The only illumination came from the ghostly green of Mint’s restorativ...

Jane extended her arm, hesitating only for a breath. The dangling figure before her was just one more soul in the endless parade she had been tasked with judging. From one drifting cluster to the next, she moved relentlessly, delivering verdict after verdict. Human or dragonkin—she couldn’t tell, couldn’t afford to care. They all appeared as writhing silhouettes suspended in the sky, gray and featureless, their identities lost to the mist. She stepped ...

Nyxor’s legs trembled as he stumbled through the fog, trailing behind the relentless Cull who led them forward. The mist clung to his robes, thick as wool and cold as his blood ran. Behind him, Fascia prodded him onward with silent insistence.

“This is surely far enough, isn’t it?” he muttered, barely loud enough for her to hear. “The Courage clan commanders said the battle is already underway—if that’s true, then we’ve reached t...

Tidal Wave of Wrath

Gral’gor moved steadily through the fog, the cool mist trailing across his smooth skin like the gentle touch of ghostly fingers. Each stride took him past rows of withered crops, their dead leaves crunching beneath his bare feet. Scattered among the furrows were the shattered forms of human soldiers, their limbs twisted in horror or disbelief. One man clutched at his own hands, frozen in shock at their shriveled state; another lay sprawled beside...

Delayed Week :(

Hey all, I had some unavoidable travel this week and just wasn't able to get the chapters to a quality I'm satisfied with. Pushing the content to next week so I can get everything right.

Sorry for the delay--if you're interested, please shoot me a message for a free audio book (any from 1-5) and I'll send it your way.

JUDICATOR JANE 6 - CHAPTER 45

Archangel

The streets of Dawnskeep lay still, cloaked in uneasy silence. Shuttered windows concealed wary eyes, their gazes flickering from behind slats and curtains as Pogg strode alone down the wide central boulevard. His thoughts were a storm—tangled threads of choices, strategies, harsh truths, and the weight of consequence. Purging the wicked had brought immense experience, yes—but it was grueling, soul-sapping work. Not many left now… he mused, a ...

A House of Cards

A deep fog crept across the abandoned farmland, curling low over the empty rows like fingers searching for something lost. Jane guided her Emerald Drake forward, attempting to see through the heavy mist. The Darkwing Skimmers were faintly visible, circling in the air above and ahead, forming a wide net of aerial reconnaissance.

This should be the border of the Mandala of Honor, she thought. So where’s the southern resistance?...

In the golden haze of the rising sun, Jane strode toward the group of captured former slaves, now surrounded by a grim cordon of Hellguards and looming Tormentors. “There,” Valrathian said, gesturing toward a plantation where men and women labored in the fields. “One of our farms.”

Jane followed his hand, shielding her eyes from the low western sun. Unlike the slave plantations she’d seen elsewhere—those strung with towering poles and radiating ropes like a carnival tent—this land was open, the workers unshackled, moving freely among the rows.

“Reminds me of the farmers from the valley,...

A cold breeze drifted in from the north, tousling Dyle’s dark hair as he moved silently through yet another vast slave plantation—this one within the Mandala of Courage. The place reeked of quiet misery. Slavery was so deeply rooted here, it hung in the air like rot, seeping into everything. He passed a tall central pillar, its ropes stretching outward like veins feeding a diseased heart. Disgust curled his lip.

Mint dove beneath a skittering claw, heart pounding with a mix of fear and adrenaline. The dense darkness of the Great Woods swallowed everything in shadow, broken only by the flickering light of Eli’va and Nadine’s ember blades—fiery arcs that danced wildly through the black.

“Ahhh!” Jeric screamed off to his right, scrambling over the bisected body of a furry Burrcritch. Two wasp-like creatures dived after him, their foot-long stinge...

Watching the duel unfold from a distant rise, Jane clicked her tongue as Balostroze finished the dragonkin champion with ruthless efficiency. That was fast. She had to admit, she’d expected more of a challenge. The dragonkin of Alur were certainly stronger than the average human—faster, tougher, higher level—but still nowhere near the caliber of the more ancient demons from the Netherrealm.

Balostroze and Gral’gor had both seen nearly a ...

Eyes closed, Jane barely registered the subtle sway of the palanquin beneath her. She sat cross-legged, posture rigid and precise, the black Crown of Dominance resting like a coiled serpent on her brow. Dyle adjusted the strap on his satchel, eyes narrowing as he studied the cave entrance perched at the top of the slope. A small house stood just outside it—if it could still be called that.
