I'm really surprised you liked Ep 2 and 3. When Season 2 was airing, so many people were complaining about these episodes because of the lack of Mokoto and family. As was explained at the beginning of the episodes, this all occurred during the events of season 1, and even appeared in both the novel and manga in continuital order along side the details from season 1. These 2 episodes may have felt a little rushed purely because the studio needed to fit so much time into 2 episodes, even cutting much of the character development of the heros and their party.
