Sorry this story is unrelated to the photos - more on the Pocono Palace Resort coming in my next post!
When I went to the Barnes museum in Philly a couple weeks ago, I saw this old woman in a wheelchair. She was looking at the museum guide or brochure, and I watched her for a moment. I thought, if my physical body was not as functional anymore - hell yeah, I'd look at art. If I were old and unwell, I would also spend my time getting as much art in front of my eyeballs as possible. I wouldn't have to care anymore about what I looked like, or even that my physical vessel was not in ideal form. I would look outside myself more.
As I meandered through the rooms, I heard a voice behind me say - "May I take a picture of the back of your head? Your hair is so beautiful!"
I turned around, and it was her. We chatted for a minute and she said she had been chasing me room to room to try and get a pic of my hair.
How funny is it, that at the very moment I was thinking about her physical form and how it must matter less and less over time - she was thinking very much about my physical form?
