2023 Year in Review

Time for my 2023 review!!

God okay what to say about this year. It’s been a lot 🤪 although I signed the contract with Dark Horse for Sparks in 2022 I wasn’t allowed to talk about it/it didn’t get officially announced until this year, so that was super exciting… and I also split up with my partner who I live with/have a mortgage and a dog with LOL so uummm that was very stressful. So far so good but I’m sure next year will also be very turbulent, we’re currently living as room mates/friends which is fine but not sustainable long-term of course, so fingers crossed in 2024 I’ll find a new living situation!

This was my second year supporting myself with my art full-time and I’m so glad it‘s still working out 🙌 my ‘goal’ for 2024 will be to get better at self-promo/marketing etc, I need to be more active on social media! I just hate posting LOL. But I’m determined to try my best 💪 I used to have a little social media posting schedule but I fell off with everything that happened this year so maybe I’ll try to get back onto that. 

It’s difficult to think about the future at the moment when everything feels very up in the air, but I’m really excited for the release of Sparks book 1 and I’m very excited about my OCs/projects in general… fired up about art!! God okay actually if I look at this Sparks recap it’s wild that the start of the year was the wrap up of arc 2 and we STILL HAVEN’T EVEN REACHED THE NORTHERN PEAKS YET… WHAT AM I DOING… that’s comics for you… everything takes so much longer than expected hahaha. We’re so close to getting there now though and I can’t wait to finally introduce some new characters I’ve been sitting on for years 🥲

Thank you to all of you for all your support once again- it means so much to me, especially in tough times! I want to draw a lot more in 2024 than I did this year but I’m also trying to learn to be easier on myself/let myself rest HAHA… so I hope I can find a good balance 🤞 I hope you all had a wonderful 2023 and I can’t wait to keep sharing with you all 💖 I say this all the time but this little community is my favourite place to be online and I’m always excited to hear your reactions to whatever new weird stuff I’ve drawn 😝
