Chapter 21: "Damn, Sis, You’re Savage"
Added 2025-04-17 23:57:38 +0000 UTC"Elder Genryū, mind your words. This was merely internal pest control—don’t go labeling us as rebels."
"If there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave now."
With that, Mei Terumī strode out boldly alongside her ANBU escort, leaving Elder Genryū alone with the corpse of his son, Kanta Sen.
True, Genryū held immense power—but only by the Mizukage’s grace. In moments like this, his authority meant nothing.
The ANBU wouldn’t obey him. And Mei had justified her actions.
"DAMN YOU!!!"
Genryū’s anguished roar echoed through the halls. His only son—gone. A father forced to bury his child.
How cruel fate could be.
"I won’t let you get away with this, Mei Terumī!"
"The Mizukage will deliver justice!"
But Genryū was in for disappointment.
When Mizukage Yagura heard the case, he did indeed "impartially" put both parties on trial.
The verdict?
Mei Terumī: One month of confinement.
Punishment: Salary suspended.
Charge: Improper conduct.
In short—Yagura didn’t disapprove of Kanta’s death. Only the method was deemed "unacceptable."
Why? Because Mei had presented evidence of Kanta’s crimes:
Embezzling emergency supplies.
Exploiting female kunoichi.
Abusing wounded veterans.
The Kirigakure shinobi, upon hearing this, erupted in outrage.
Genryū’s already weak position crumbled entirely.
How could his son have been such a monster? Impossible! He’d never known!
Mei, passing Genryū on her way to confinement, offered a chilling smile:
"The darkest shadows lie beneath the lamp."
"You were too busy with ‘great affairs’ to notice the rot at your feet."
Genryū’s fists trembled. "Don’t get cocky, Mei Terumī."
"So long as I live, you’d best watch your back."
His eyes were those of a viper—poised to strike.
With nothing left to lose, he had no more restraints.
Mei merely smirked. "Then let’s see who outlasts whom."
As for her "punishment"? A month in prison would break most.
But for Mei—former ANBU Commander—it was practically a homecoming.
Every guard there was hers.
Two Days Later
Yoru woke up.
The entire medical team exhaled in relief.
After Kanta’s death, they’d realized just how terrifying Mei Terumī was.
If she could slaughter an Elder’s son and only get a slap on the wrist…
Then killing them would probably earn her a scolding at most.
"Wait—Sis got locked up?!"
Yoru was stunned. What the hell had happened while he was out?
When he heard the full story, his jaw dropped.
"Holy hell. She just murked Kanta Sen? The Elder’s son?!"
All he could think was: Good fucking riddance.
A scumbag like Kanta deserved worse.
And having a sister who was both fiercely protective and brutally efficient?
Damn right he was proud.
"But now Genryū’s out for blood. Gotta stay sharp."
Two More Days Pass
Yoru, fully recovered, visited Mei in confinement before reporting to the ANBU.
Assigned a new mission in three days, he returned home—training and recuperating.
If he wanted to change Kirigakure’s fate, the road ahead was long.
But after this incident, the village’s shinobi now looked at him with something new: envy.
Who wouldn’t want a sister like Mei?
(The Elders, of course, glared with pure hatred.)
Kanta’s vacant seat on the council? Filled by Byakugan Ao—a Mei loyalist.
Mizukage’s Office
"Fight. Fight harder."
Uchiha Obito (disguised as Yagura) watched Kirigakure’s growing turmoil with giddy anticipation.
"Tear each other apart. Shatter this village."
"Then I’ll sweep up the pieces."
He had no idea his "leniency" had given someone precious time.
Time to grow stronger.
Time to plan his expulsion.
Obito thought himself the puppet master.
He didn’t realize someone else held the script.
Elsewhere in the Shinobi World
Ameyuri Ringo slumped against a tree, bloodied and panting.
Beside her, Hōzuki Suigetsu and Shima Isshin were in similar states.
Their captain nodded approvingly. "Another high-rank mission cleared."
But Ameyuri just clenched her fists.
"Not enough. Not even close."
"Yoru’s already killing Special Jōnin. I can’t fall behind!"
Suigetsu and Isshin mirrored her resolve.
Their captain sighed. *"Don’t rush. Yoru’s twelve—you’ve got years to surpass him."*
The trio’s expressions eased.
Yes. By the time they were his age, they’d be monsters.
They’d make sure of it.
Three Days Later
Yoru, still recovering, focused on rebuilding his stamina and strength.
In three days, he’d earned 30,000 enhancement points.
After maxing out his Strength stat, he spent the remaining 11,000 on upgrades:
Water Style: Water Wall
Cost: 5,000
Effects:
50% less chakra.
3x density.
2.5x casting speed.
Rank: A
Further Upgrades: None.
Genjutsu: Demonic Illusion: Binding
Cost: 6,000
Effects:
Duration tripled (from 3 → 9 seconds).
Rank: A
Further Upgrades: 2 remaining.
"Now, even a Jōnin would struggle to take me down quickly."
Drying off after a soak, Yoru suited up in his ANBU gear.
Time to get back to work.
