Chapter 223: The Rampaging Seven (Part 1)

Achilles and Hector, two short blades, left deep, bone-exposing wounds on the left forearm and right upper arm of the Homelander.

The intense pain made the already twisted face of the Patriotic Soldier look even more ferocious.

He truly lived up to being a low-tier version of Superman. Despite such injuries, he wasn’t knocked down; instead, he became even more violent. With a backhand swipe, he swung his iron-like arm, sweeping it toward the two women.

The counterattack carried immense force, measured in tons, causing Penthesilea to dodge hastily rather than take it head-on. Diana, who chose to block with her shield, was not so lucky.

"Duang!" A crisp bang echoed from the divine shield forged by Hephaestus, and Diana's figure was swept back by the Homelander's slap, sliding back more than twenty meters, her feet digging two grooves into the ground.

Diana could have withstood it, but the floor wasn't strong enough. She stomped through the reinforced concrete and fell to the floor below...

A few seconds later, in a place three floors down, the continuous sounds of walls and floors crashing ceased.

Black Widow instinctively looked at Kratos. Her big, expressive eyes seemed to ask, "Is your girl okay?"

Atreus remained calm, tilting his head as if to say, "This Homelander has some skills!"

Atreus had great faith in Wonder Woman's combat power. After all, she hadn’t even used her Guardian Bracelets just now, meaning she was only warming up.

At this moment, a highly dramatic scene unfolded.

"Boom!" The walls and ceiling of the room they were in were simultaneously shattered, and the Seven gathered.

“What’s going on?” Queen Maeve asked the Homelander.

“That bastard ruined my plan!” The Homelander exclaimed, both shocked and furious, while checking his injuries.

Seeing the Homelander hurt made the hearts of the Seven sink.

"Kratos?" Maeve stared at the bald hero across from them with a puzzled expression, not knowing why he was here.

Atreus’s sharp gaze swept across the room, and the corner of his eye caught a glimpse of Starlight, who was following timidly at the back. It reminded him of a scene from history.

“You bunch of scumbags really don’t know how to act like human beings! I’m here today to kill you hypocrites who have defiled the term heroes.” Atreus's words were an undeniable declaration of war.

Compared to the angry Homelander, Maeve, known for her mediation, spoke up, “Isn’t there some misunderstanding?”

“No misunderstanding! The latest version of Compound V has incorporated General Zod's genes. If I don't kill you now, I'll be dealing with a bunch of Doomsdays later on.”

The whole room froze upon hearing this.

As luck would have it, the computer Black Widow was using to steal secrets was still running. She couldn’t do much in a fight of this magnitude, but exposing evidence was her forte.

She rushed to the computer, typed a string of characters, and relevant information about the modified Compound V appeared on the nearby 50-inch screen.

This was a solid piece of evidence!

Starlight, whose conscience hadn’t fully withered, turned pale instantly.

The other five members of the Seven fell silent, while only the Homelander arrogantly shouted, “So what? With the new genes, I'll be even stronger than I am now! Yeah! I can do whatever the hell I want, and if you try to stop me, you deserve to die!”

The pain from his wounds stimulated his nerves. He hadn't suffered such severe injuries since his debut, and this pain was almost driving him mad.

Queen Maeve glanced at the shattered glass windows outside and sighed in her heart. She knew that today would not end peacefully. She then said solemnly, “If we don’t kill Kratos, we’re all going to die!”

“Attack! We have more people!” Deep roared fiercely.

Unexpectedly, as soon as he spoke, a portal opened behind Kratos again, and several figures dressed like female robots stepped out.

Queen Maeve hesitated no longer, unleashing her fury as she pounced at Atreus like a lioness.

But before she could get close, she was suddenly blocked by Wonder Woman, equally wild and disheveled.

“Clang!” Both drew their swords and clashed fiercely.

With a resounding and shocking clang, Maeve's body flew backward faster than she had charged forward. It was obvious that Maeve's strength was utterly overwhelmed. It wasn’t over yet; Wonder Woman’s figure pursued her like a phantom.

It was a fierce battle between a real and a fake Wonder Woman!

The fight between the two women was wild and violent, smashing through numerous walls and office desks, computers, and other debris along the way. With the intent to bash each other’s brains out, they fought fiercely, heading off into the distance.

Atreus’s spread-out senses told him that Maeve was taking more of the beating.

Meanwhile, the fully-suited Black Noir faced Penthesilea. More adept at close-quarter combat, Black Noir demonstrated speed and strength on par with the Homelander.

Unfortunately for him, the Amazon Queen was used to such powerful opponents. With a swift dodge, the divine blade Achilles sliced his back, causing Black Noir to let out a thunderous wail. Yet, still looking crazed, he smashed the floor beneath her with a punch, and both of them fell to the level below.

It was another battle fought in chaos.

As the Homelander faced off against Atreus, A-Train came charging in from another direction. Although he had some sense, he didn’t dare rush directly at Atreus. Instead, he aimed for the 'robot girl' standing in front.

The cold, oval-shaped full-coverage helmet hid her face, and all these robot girls looked the same.

Actually, there was some luck involved in whom A-Train charged at.

His ideal target was Catwoman. Even though Atreus had enhanced her with a Red Soul, while her physical abilities improved, her martial arts skills were still inferior to the more professional Canary sisters.

But A-Train was extremely unlucky; he ended up picking... Faora!

“Hahaha! I’ll run you down!”

Seeing this, Atreus felt a headache coming.

Though he had tested that Faora's physique wasn’t bad, of all choices, why charge at a Kryptonian?

His speed isn't even up to the standard of Greek mythology’s “godspeed”!

To be honest, A-Train wasn’t even close to the Flash; he wasn’t even on par with Marvel’s Quicksilver. Plus, running too fast could trigger his heart condition.

And Supergirl could match the speed of the Flash.

Unsurprisingly, in front of Faora, who could go toe-to-toe with Superman...

“Splurt!”

The upper half of A-Train, dressed in his light blue uniform, vanished completely, transforming into a mass of splattered, cone-shaped blood spray. His uncontrolled lower half instinctively continued to sprint for a few more steps before staggering and collapsing five meters behind the leading robot girl.
