Chapter 4: Deep Breath, Dizziness Is Normal

The Leaf Village ninjas chatted, looking thoughtful. No one noticed that as the alarm triggered by the rabbit echoed through the barrier, a figure had silently broken through the defenses of Twinfield Village and slipped inside.

"Too bad. Shunpo (Flash Step) is nice, but it’s not a space-time ninjutsu. Passing through this kind of barrier is quite a hassle," Yoru muttered, glancing at the white rabbit that had been killed by Graymaru.

Shunpo from the Death God world moves quickly, but it's not space-type movement; it’s a skill that bursts the user's spiritual power (chakra) to achieve high-speed movement. It’s similar to the Flicker of the Ninja world or the Soru technique from One Piece. While Shunpo is faster and more practical, it’s not effective against barriers or defensive techniques.

“If I had the ability to do Sonido, it would be better. Shunpo is just missing something...” Yoru sighed, knowing Sonido was too expensive—it would cost 50,000 points, an unattainable luxury at the moment.

The environment around Twinfield Village was humid, with frequent rainfall making the area damp and muddy. The houses on both sides of the street looked dilapidated, many scarred by sword marks and explosions. Leaf Village ninjas occasionally sprinted by, creating a tense atmosphere.

Yoru silently weaved through the streets and quickly set his sights on a large warehouse.

"One Jonin, four Chunin..." he noted, smirking. "Looks like even Leaf Village is running out of manpower."

Normally, a supply warehouse like this would be guarded by multiple teams—at least two Jonin and over ten Chunin. But with Leaf now fighting battles against Wind, Earth, Lightning, and Mist, their forces were stretched thin.

With Shunpo and his light-bending ability, Yoru suddenly appeared behind the Leaf Jonin and pierced his heart with a short sword. The Jonin's eyes widened in pain, but Yoru covered his mouth tightly.

"Mm! Enem—"

“Take a deep breath. Feeling dizzy is normal.”

With a twist of his wrist, Yoru thoroughly destroyed the Jonin’s heart, causing the man to tremble slightly before going limp.

Ding! Successfully killed a Jonin. Reward: 1,000 points.

According to the system, Jonin are worth 1,000 points, Chunin are 200, and Genin are only 50, much to Yoru's annoyance. Genin are the toughest, so why do they earn so few points?

“What’s that smell?” The faint scent of blood caught the attention of the Chunin guards nearby, but when they turned toward the source, their world spun.

Thud.

Four lifeless bodies hit the ground. Yoru flicked the blood off his sword, collected another 1,600 points, and headed into the warehouse.

The large warehouse was filled with military equipment—kunai, shuriken, ration pills, explosive tags, and more—stacked together and sealed with various defensive barriers.

Though storage scrolls had been introduced by this time in the war, they were incredibly expensive, and resources were running low as the war dragged on. Even the Leaf Village didn’t have many left. Luckily, Yoru had a few of his own.

Taking out two storage scrolls from his belt, he wasted no time stuffing all the ration pills, explosive tags, and anything valuable into them. Kunai and shuriken? Not worth it—he was only after the expensive stuff.

His mission was to cause as much destruction as possible, and since he didn’t need to turn anything over, anything he could take was his.

But he quickly realized a problem. The most valuable items were the explosive tags, but if he took them all, there wouldn’t be enough left to cause a chain of explosions that would destroy the entire warehouse.

"Forget it. Chakra replenishes over time, but if I leave these tags behind, it’ll be a total waste."

Yoru was a squad captain in the Mist Village’s Black Ops, but even his salary was pitiful. The Mist Village, located far overseas, had always been resource-poor. He had no choice but to grab what he could.

After securely packing away his scrolls, Yoru turned his attention back to the warehouse. With a slight sense of regret, he raised his right hand toward the remaining weapons and began to chant softly.

“O Sovereign! Mask of flesh and bone, fluttering wings, crowned with the name of man! Truth and moderation, stand upon the wall of sinless dreams with fangs bared!”

“Way of Destruction #33... Blue Fire, Crash Down!”

With his incantation complete, pale blue flames shot from his palm, crashing into the warehouse and causing a violent explosion.

Boom! Boom! Boom!!

The explosion rocked the area, and thick black smoke and flames soared into the sky. The Leaf ninjas stared in shock at the exploding warehouse and rushed toward it.

“What happened? Did the warehouse catch fire?!”

“No way, the warehouse has security measures in place! It’s an enemy attack! We’re under attack!”

“Damn it, how did the enemy get in? What was the security team doing?!”

“Hurry, notify Fugaku-sama and Shinnosuke-sama!”

The chaos spread, but Yoru’s destruction was far from over. Using Shunpo, he quickly reached another warehouse, setting off a chain of explosions.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

As one warehouse erupted, another went up in flames. The explosive tags inside ignited, causing massive blasts that sent shockwaves through the village.

Boom!!!

A thunderous explosion rocked the entire Twinfield Village, as the chain reaction set off by the tags created a towering inferno.

While the Leaf Village ninjas scrambled to deal with the destruction, Yoru slipped into the Leaf Village command center within Twinfield.

He swiftly dispatched the Jonin guard at the entrance, earning another 1,000 points, and stepped inside. Scrolls lay scattered across a table, and Yoru immediately began collecting valuable intel.

“Supply route maps…”

“Battlefield layout for the Mist front lines…”

“A letter appointing Jonin Jiraiya as commander of the front…”

“A full roster of names…”

Without hesitation, Yoru gathered all the useful documents. As he activated his light-bending ability to leave, a kunai suddenly cut through the air, aimed at his throat!

Clang!

"You’re the one causing all this destruction, aren’t you?"

Blocking the kunai with his short sword, Yoru looked up to see a figure his size, standing before him, with crimson Sharingan eyes spinning in the darkness.
