Chapter 110: Kakashi and Kurenai Yūhi

The door slammed shut with a loud bang, and Tsunade’s angry voice echoed from inside, “You bastard! What exactly did you do to our daughter?”

As she finished speaking, Tsunade swung a powerful punch with all her monstrous strength.

“I didn’t do anything,” Aizen dodged, looking innocent, while catching her wrist with his left hand.

“Then why does she want to be your girlfriend, you bastard?” Tsunade threw another punch.

This time, Aizen caught her other wrist with his right hand.

“She probably likes me because I helped her catch her runaway pet pig,” Aizen replied, feeling helpless.

“No way my daughter would fall for you just because of something like that. You must have done something to her!”

Still fuming, Tsunade attempted to use her Heavenly Foot of Pain attack.

Just like during their previous sparring, Aizen trapped her legs with his own.

Both of them fell onto the bed.

“Well, it’s probably my damn charm,” Aizen sighed, “If you don’t believe me, I can prove it.”

“Prove it how?” Tsunade paused, then noticed Aizen’s possessive gaze, her eyes showing a hint of panic. “What do you plan to do?”

Aizen smirked mischievously, “Tsunade, you don’t want our daughter to see us without clothes, do you?”

Half an hour later, Tsunade, blushing, followed Aizen out of the room.

By that time, Shizune had already been waiting outside, looking drowsy.

Meanwhile, Chinatsu was busy bullying her pet pig.

Hearing the door open, Shizune groggily opened her eyes, “Lady Tsunade, and…”

Seeing Aizen, Shizune looked a bit troubled.

Come to think of it, she still didn’t know Aizen’s full name.

“I’m Aizen.

“Aizen?” Shizune blinked, feeling like she had heard that name somewhere before.

The little girl nearby, upon seeing Aizen and Tsunade exit, abandoned the pig and dashed into Aizen’s arms. “Big brother, did mom bully you?”

“I’ve told you before, you should call me dad. You shouldn’t be so casual,” Aizen sighed helplessly.

“Then I’ll call you Brother Aizen. Did mom bully you?” The little girl rubbed her soft, delicate face against Aizen’s cheek.

“You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?” Aizen rolled his eyes, then glanced at Tsunade, a playful smile appearing on his face. “Your mom didn’t bully me. If anything, I bullied her.”

“You bastard! Don’t corrupt my daughter!” Tsunade quickly pulled her daughter from Aizen’s arms before he could finish his sentence.

“You really think I’m some kind of pervert, huh?” Aizen shrugged, then glanced in the direction of Konoha, wondering how Kurenai was doing. “I’ll check on her after the Chūnin Exams,” he thought.

At Konoha Hospital:

“Kurenai Yūhi, a Jōnin, taking time out of your busy schedule to help these rookies—it’s really too much trouble for you. But your medical ninjutsu is still as impressive as ever. You’ve already surpassed everyone at the hospital,” said a medical-nin instructor who was responsible for teaching medical ninjutsu to new students. He watched in awe as a dying fish came back to life after receiving treatment from Kurenai.

“No, it’s nothing. After all, I used to be part of the Medical Corps too,” Kurenai responded with a shake of her head.

As she said, Kurenai had indeed been part of the Medical Corps.

In fact, up until four months ago, before being specially recruited by the Third Hokage to become the teacher of Team 8, she had still been in the Medical Corps.

And it had been her own decision to transfer to the Medical Corps back then.

She had claimed that the Medical Corps was understaffed and that she wanted to contribute to Konoha’s medical efforts.

But the real reason was something only she knew.

It was because of Aizen.

There were only two possibilities for Aizen’s situation:

One, he had indeed died in the Uchiha Clan massacre, and Hiruzen Sarutobi and Danzo were being framed.

Two, he had faked his death, which would mean Aizen was likely the real culprit behind the Uchiha massacre, making him responsible for the deaths of Sarutobi clan and Shimura clan

Otherwise, why would he run?

Both possibilities were unacceptable to Kurenai.

On one hand, she hoped that the boy who had, in a drunken haze, confessed to her wasn’t dead.

On the other hand, she didn’t want Aizen to be responsible for the massacre and become a rogue ninja.

Caught between these two conflicting emotions, Kurenai chose to step away from the frontlines.

This was both an attempt to atone for the Konoha ninjas Aizen might have killed and a way to avoid facing the harsh reality.

She couldn’t bear to accept the news of his death.

Hiruzen Sarutobi and the higher-ups of Konoha were more than happy with her decision.

Though they trusted Kurenai, her having trained Aizen for over half a year made it somewhat inappropriate for her to continue handling classified missions.

“It’s getting late, so we’ll end here today. Thank you for coming to teach my students,” the medical-nin instructor smiled at Kurenai.

Kurenai nodded slightly and left the hospital.

“Kakashi?”

As soon as she walked out the door, she bumped into Kakashi, who was carrying groceries, presumably to make dinner.

“Let’s talk,” Kakashi sighed.

Before long, the two of them were seated at a dango shop near the ninja academy.

Ever since learning about Naruto’s tragic past from Aizen years ago, Kakashi had developed a habit of stopping by to check on Naruto every now and then.

This habit continued until Naruto graduated.

Even now, Kakashi still came by occasionally, reading Icha Icha Paradise and clearing his mind.

Kakashi’s Team 7 had been assigned a D-rank mission this time: looking after the ninja hounds.

In simple terms, it was just dog-walking.

“So, how’s returning to the frontlines as a teacher going? Have you adjusted?” Kakashi asked, glancing at the academy’s fenced wall. Naruto was being dragged through the dirt by a large ninja dog, desperately trying to keep up with Sasuke. Kakashi smiled beneath his mask before speaking.

“Yeah,” Kurenai nodded. Following Kakashi’s gaze, she saw Naruto’s clumsy figure and couldn’t help but ask, “Are those brats your students?”

“Yeah. If it weren’t for them, I might not have made it back from our recent mission in the Land of Waves,” Kakashi replied.

Kurenai raised an eyebrow in surprise. “Oh? Did you run into trouble?”

Kakashi nodded lazily and said, “Yeah. It was Zabuza Momochi, one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist, and he wasn’t alone. There was also a rare Ice Release user with him.”
