Apocalypse Tamer Bestiary: Lightning Panda (Patron-sponsored)

Passive Perk:

• Fluffy: reduces non-magical damage by 25%.
• Pandamania: anyone seeing a Lightning Panda must succeed on a CHA vs CHA contest or be [Charmed]; black-hearted individuals who don’t find pandas cute gain a bonus on that contest. Anyone managing to resist Pandamania’s effect is permanently immune to this Perk, even those of other Lightning Pandas.
• Pandabstience: as long as it doesn’t reproduce, Lightning Panda benefits from a unique buff granting immunity to Sleep, Insta-Death, and Critical Hits, alongside an auto-Regen effect. Lightning Panda loses the buff for one week after reproducing.
• Unarmed Fighting II: Lightning Pandas possess advanced proficiency with unarmed attacks, claws and gauntlet weapons (x2 damage, +10% chances to crit).
• Turbo: Lightning: attacks made with the Lightning elements have their power increased by 30% and pierce through Resistance.

Active Perks:

• Wind Palm: 50 SP, unarmed technique, unleashes a powerful gust of wind at a single target with 20% chance to [Stun] (base power 90, [Wind] damage).
• Bamboo Rain: 60 SP, rains down sharp bamboo spears on a vast area around the caster (base power 100, [Wood] damage).
• Thundercloud: 10 SP per minute. A Lightning Panda can summon a Thundercloud on which they can fly. The Thundercloud periodically unleashes lightning bolts at the Lightning Panda’s enemies (base power 90, [Lightning] damage). The Thundercloud vanishes if the Lightning Panda is no longer in direct contact with it.
• Dao of Fury: 80 SP. The Lightning Panda unleashes a terrifying, mythical kung-fu combo on a single target (base power 130, [Mythic] damage); this counts as an unarmed technique. However, the Lightning Panda suffers from a debuff to all physical stats for 5 minutes afterwards.
• Tornado: 60 SP. Summons a mighty tornado (base power 100, [Wind] damage).
• Lightning Paw: 50 SP. A powerful unarmed technique where the panda coats his paw in lightning to strike a target (base power 60, [Lightning] damage). Although the technique is counted as an unarmed attack, it is considered magical and runs on Charisma.

The apex of the panda species, the Lightning Panda is infamous among Asian monster hunters for its rarity, power, and peculiar behavior. The Lightning Pandas’ fur is an extremely precious crafting material (especially to make [Lightning]-protected armors) and they usually drop rare items. Lightning Pandas mostly run away from fights, but are fearsome when cornered.

The Lightning Panda is very vulnerable after breeding due to Pandabstinece and becomes a favored target of monster hunters during that period. As such, Lightning Pandas rarely reproduce; a trend that may cause the species’ extinction. Woe to anyone confronting a Lightning Panda at full power though. These creatures combine expert martial art techniques with powerful magic.

Some powerful Lightning Pandas grow to enormous size. Giant Lightning Pandas possess twice more HP than normal, beneficial modifiers to STR and VIT, but penalties to SKI and Agility.
