Defining Duke, Episode 254 | Valve Just Beat Xbox To The Punch...

Xbox's big bet for bringing PCs to the living room has officially been undercut. This week, Valve announced three (!) different pieces of hardware. First, there is the Steam Machine, which serves as the strongest competitor to consoles. While still very much a PC, the Steam Machine packs a lot of punch for a small device and could be a force if priced well. Second, a brand new VR headset in the Steam Frame. Despite Meta having massive first-party support, Valve has decided to challenge a space that many of us thought was finished growing. Third, and finally, is a Steam Controller. It's horrendous looking and makes the Duke look ergonomic. How does Valve's aggressive hardware plans disrupt Xbox and does any lingering appeal for the PC in the living room by Xbox remain? The Dukes unite and dive straight in.

Good to see the dynamic duo back again #SteamDD

Mr. Scott If You're Nasty

I hate it. Fully on board with the Cog on this. Looks like my hands will be hitting other stuff all the time

Mr. Scott If You're Nasty

Have to disagree totally with Cog on the new Steam Controller. It definitely isn’t pretty, but it’s basically exactly what Steam Deck fans who enjoy the trackpads and other unique control features have been clamoring for for PC gaming. I have a more powerful gaming PC already (and a Steam Deck), and 100% want that controller while I’m not interested in the Steam Machine.

What’s your favourite band Matty?

Cameron Sturre

Yeah Brad is "taking his time" with Trails. Matty ain't lying, that's damn sure code for playing other shit.😆

Russell Robinson

They are truly Redefining Duke with that controller.
