G'day gents, My game recommendation is Conscript. It was recently on PS Plus but I bought it at release and it was well worth the price. It's an old school survival horror style game with limited ink ribbon saves and ammo, sluggish movement and resource management. Most of the levels take place in claustrophobic bunkers, tunnels or trenches. There are moments where you'll hear the whistle blow and the Germans will charge and drop down into the trenches as you attempt to hold your position. The gameplay loop is very satisfying as you need to wind up your gun or shovel to make it accurate or hit harder, making it very difficult to manage multiple enemies and requiring you to dodge, roll and back pedal. The pump and bolt action weaponry of the time is perfect for survival horror as missing a single shot can send you into a spiral of panic. Throw some mortar shots into the middle of this and it gets real intense real quick. The only horror in the game are the true horrors of war as wounded soldiers cry and scream in pain, roll around in agony or try to crawl to safety half blown to shreds. You play a French soldier in the Battle of Verdun and there is more nuance and depth to the story then you initially suspect with a "journey into the depths of hell feeling", exploring war trauma with multiple endings and a ton of replayability. It was also made by a solo developer from Australia.

This year, I've played through Kiwami 1, Kiwami 2, and Like a Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name (I know weird order). After I then purchased the Remastered Collection (games 3-5) and Yakuza 6 with the goal of completing the series. My dilemma: I'm 20 hours into Yakuza 3 when a Kiwami 3 remake is leaked. Should I stop and wait, or push through? I don't plan to platinum every title, but I like to experience most of a game's content before moving on. My questions are: 1. Should I stop and wait for the potential Kiwami 3? If not, how thoroughly should I play the original? 2. Which games in the series are most worth a complete and thorough playthrough? Keep up the good work! Bonus game suggestion: Way of The Samurai 3 or 4. They are action adventure roguelite, with multiple branching paths and ending. I'm playing on ps3, but normally goes on sale on steam.
