2024-10-18 11:37:55 +0000 UTCI lover Persona but agree that something with Metaphor's visuals and UI is off. I think the overdone effects and menus fit in Persona but really pull me out of the fantasy world that I'm supposed to be in. I also very much dislike the MC's design.

2024-10-16 20:00:51 +0000 UTCSo I think my problem was that I played it on my Portal. After replaying the first bit on my tv, I enjoyed it much more, the music is great. Iβm still not crazy about the busy interface with stuff always moving, but I can get past that.

I mean itβs good to articulate the why, but sometimes it really is as simple as βIβm just not clicking with itβ.

2024-10-15 20:16:49 +0000 UTCI find the visuals really distracting as well, and I'm just about the world's biggest Persona fan. Some of the backdrops have this grainy low quality aesthetic that I find really unappealing in places. I dunno, I'll probably still grit my teeth through it, but I think it's straight-up ugly at times (the brown color palettes and weird noisy particle effects especially), and in a series that's all about visual style that's a massive turn-off for me. Glad others are enjoying it, though.

2024-10-15 16:21:16 +0000 UTCWhat am I missing with Metaphor? I've given the demo a couple tries and I just can't get into it. Something about the visuals and UI that really turns me off. I really want to like it since everyone on LSM seems to be loving it, should I power through or just leave it off my already-too-long backlog of games? I really thought I would like this more than Persona since I love fantasy, the FOMO is real for this game, is it ok to not like it or is this game really that good?
