Constellation, Episode 92 | Disasters, Confidence Boost, Pandemic Effects, and Crazy Occurrences
Added 2024-10-07 16:00:16 +0000 UTC
It's time for the latest Constellation conversation, starring some of your favorite Last Stand Media personalities. This week, Colin gets things started with a discussion about natural disasters. After mother nature recently wreaked havoc on the southeastern United States, and with the possibility of even more devastation in store, which forces of nature have we personally witnessed, and which natural disasters frighten us the most? Next, Micah eases our anxiety with a conversation around confidence boosters. From our favorite articles of clothing to lucky tokens or even the perfect haircut. What helps us feel extra self-assured and empowers us to take on the world? Contributing the third topic today, our favorite European pal would like to talk about the psychological effects of Covid. As we approach the 5 years anniversary of the dawn of the global pandemic, Lockmort picks our brains about our social tendencies in the wake of the lockdown. Are we more or less socially active then we were before the world changed in 2020, and how content are we with our current social habits and routines? Finally, Dagan returns to the show and asks the gang: "What's the craziest thing that ever happened to you?" Do we each have that one unbelievable incident or bizarre event that took place in our lives which almost doesn't even seem real upon reflection?
Micah trolling Colin about history, because she knows he will go on and on when she brings the topic, and all it takes is she mentioning the topic….just shows she understand him very well, and known what buttons to press, its hilarious 🤣

Welcome back Dagan!! Hope to see you on more podcasts in the future (WE WANT KNOCKBACK!!!)
PS to Colin, the Richter scale doesn't work that way, a 6 is ten times bigger than a 5, not a 5.1

O.M.G. Colin again peddling this Richter scale nonsense.
Bro.
A 5.1 is NOT an order of magnitude greater than a 5.0. A 6.0 IS an order of magnitude great than a 5.0, because it's a base-10 logarithmic scale. I've heard you proclaim this shlock in other podcasts, and you've never been more wrong. WOULD YOU KINDLY PLEASE GET IT TOGETHER, SIR.

Micah’s topic reminds me of The Office cold opening about Michael Scott and his jeans. When he gets in them, I’m not sure what’s happens, but he loves the way he looks in those jeans 😂

That sucks to hear Lock, I cracked my tooth the same day the country shut down for Covid. I spent the weekend in excruciating pain and had emergency root canal that following Monday. I was treated like patient zero that day because everyone including myself was freaked out at the thought of getting Covid. I felt like I was like the movie contagion 😭.

Ironically I feel the opposite of Colin regarding covid policies.
I thought it was the first time in my life I saw the government actually doing something to fix something. The vaccines coming out how quickly they did was an example of American greatness.

Colin not listening to the vast majority of scientists on climate change is like people not trusting his knowledge on playstation. "earthquakes were bound to happen from fracking" is such a crazy statement, like that is just a normal thing

The last two winter/spring seasons in southern CA have been so heavy with rain. They have been heavily seeding clouds here. I used to doubt that stuff but after the last 4 years of my life I question everything and keep an open mind. I did a bunch of research on cloud seeding and it is 100% happening.

If the price is keeping you from Invisalign, here’s a fact. There’s 1 company in the world that makes their aligners. Which means that every dentist in the world scans your teeth, sends to them, and send you the aligners. The only difference is what the dentist wants to charge you for their work. I was quoted 9k in Florida. Went to Brazil, to a pro that worked with celebrities and soccer players. Did the same treatment for 2k.

Bee issue is still a thing. I’m not preaching, but I will because I have an Apiary. We’ve had a drought here in Ohio and the bees carried all my plants this season. Although we write off bees as a moot point, they are so important and still needed. Don’t hate on the bees!😂

Anybody who thinks remote learning worked during COVID is off their rocker. I watched how it worked first hand with my own kids and it was laughable. We now have entire classes coming through the school district that are behind in literally everything. I'm not opposed to remote learning during snow days but remote learning during COVID was a joke

People realized when you drink at home its vastly cheaper than drinking at a bar. Plus you are at home and you don't have to worry about driving. Why did we waste so much time going out?

Yeah that's the one I meant. Yeah pretty much north America would be fucked. Wouldn't be extinction level I don't think, but food shortages would be world wide, and that probably end up causing conflicts. So it could be a chain reaction thing

I think you mean the Yellowstone Caldera, yeah? My parents live not too far from there. It’s an interesting one- it seems like for a long time the assumption was that the caldera erupting would be an extinction-level event, but that may not be the case. Don’t get me wrong though, tons of people would die, and a good amount of North America would plunge into darkness, so it’d be real real bad. My pops likes to joke that he’s glad he lives near it, since if it erupts he’ll be able to go out quick rather than having to deal with the fallout of US society collapsing due to the massive failures in agriculture and transportation that it would cause.

Colin the problem with earthquakes on the east coast, is the buildings aren't made to handle them. In California buildings are made to withstand smaller/medium quakes to an extent. An earthquake California would shrug off as nothing, could devastate nyc or philly

I really think the pandemic had a big effect on singles. It could have a lot to do with my age of 40 but I've noticed single people don't really go out. From what I gathered many single women my age go to work, gym, grocery store and home. Many people just got comfortable with sitting at home.

Don't even get me started on the wild fire shit happening up here in Canada. All these idiots just blame climate change but don't ever mention that the federal government does ZERO forest management so all the forest floors around here are tinder boxes. Even the indigenous understand the need for management and controlled fires which they have done for century's. But nope... its climate change... "how do we deal with it climate mongers?" "Well we gotta give more money to the federal government obviously!"...
