Konami annoys many of us for a whole litany of different reasons, but when it comes to Brad Ellis, Gene Park, and myself (Colin), our ire is unidirectional. Konami is the keeper of our beloved Castlevania, and even with the shocking success of the Netflix animated series and a handful of random IP collaborations, it's been more than a decade since we've gotten a new Castlevania-branded game. (Heck, it's been 14-ish years since any of them have even been good, and 16 years since we've gotten something recognizably Castlevania, period.) The question then becomes: What gives? Join us as we reminisce about the series title-by-title, talk about how it captured us as NES-playing children -- the castle, the characters, the monsters, the world, and of course the gameplay -- and our eternal hope that Castlevania will one day reappear, just like Dracula himself, who never seemed to die until Konami arbitrarily willed it.
