Also, here’s a metaphor to help roshi understand how cassian “locked in” imagine you’ve only ever driven an automatic car now you gotta drive stick for the first time. You’re definitely gonna fuck up but after a couple tries, you get a relative understanding of the new controls. You won’t drive the car well but you’ll still be able to drive.

Of course awfulness like that happens within those circumstances. Very unfortunate and fucked up but also, kudos to the writers, actors, stunt crew for depicting it accurately, bringing it to light.
