But what he did was definitely an attack. Understanding the subtext/symbolism doesn’t mean completely ignore and/or disregard the actual events and context. More than one thing can be true at a time. The subtext and symbolism is there. Yes. Hikaru attacked Yoshiki. Yes.

2025-08-08 00:01:30 +0000 UTC"Hikaru" didn't attack Yoshiki, he wasn't trying to kill him, that scene was based on consent and internalized homophobia, "Hikaru" pushed the boundaries with Yoshiki and basically sexually assaulted him, and because of Yoshiki's feelings toward himself, it felt gross and wrong, but he then realized it felt good, like how a gay man who hates himself for being gay, finally has a gay experience and realizes its not as bad as people have made it out to be. Thats also why "Hikaru" apologized for "What I did to you", because he literally assaulted him and didn't ask for consent, which is wild how an alien/monster understands consent better than most people
