WIP Update - Day 273

VERY excited to say that the interior art for this project is all FINALLY DONE!! The first image here is the one that was giving me so much trouble....I figured it out though, haha.

All that is left now is to draw the cover and finish assembling the book. I'm aiming to have it ready by the end of this week (So I can do a Friday/Saturday release) but if this doesn't work out, it will be pushed to next week!

These are my favorite pages from this scene. Shiloh, who is so inexperienced and coming out of a Catholic school...marriage is the most climactic erotic thing he can think of.

I never aim for historical accuracy, cus it's just not something I'm concerned about, but I did look at references for how medieval underwear works, with the stockings tied up into some sort of undergarment that appeared to be held up with a belt. I also referenced the window, arch in the doorway, and the guy on the tapestry from manuscript art i liked.

I designed a new guy recently! I have a story in mind for him but I don't have the time to dedicate to it yet, so for the time being I'm just gonna toss him at some one off characters whenever I feel like it.

The lines for this were actually finished back in January this year, iirc my goal was to try a triangular composition, and include a decorative border. I do like borders in art, I just never have much of a reason to include them. I think in the future if I do more I'll do more with them than just patterns and plants...🤔🤔

Sketchbook - 12/12/23

Some figure drawings! Got frustrated while working on the other illustrations for Day 273, so I took some time to walk away and do some studies (though the two images with white backgrounds are from a while ago). 

The fourth image is the frustrating illustration in question--it's a hard pose! I will get it right eventually, I've redrawn it a few times and finally feel like it looks decent enough.

"Day 273" Preview

🎉🎉 I'm nearing completion of my next zine (debating on whether I will still call it a zine given its size, but we'll see)! It's about 7.3k words, pending one final round of proofreading, about Yahya and Shiloh in a scifi au. It follows the events of one particular day as they drift through space on a big ship with tons of other men, and how that affects their relationship.

Vampire Ritual - Nov 2023 Poll Illustration

It is complete! Jonathan Harker joins the Count and the Sire in a mysterious ritual 🕯️🧛🔴 Prompt was "character with their shirt pushed all the way up."

I had a lot of fun with the texture and playing with areas of low contrast vs high contrast. I ended up changing Jonathan's legs a few times to get the best pose for the area, since there's so many limbs there plus the Sire is in perspective. I ended up removing the exposed heart that I had in my concept sketches of the Sire b...

Nov 2023 - Poll Illustration WIP

A quick progress update! I'm in the final rendering stage, so the finished piece will be uploaded within a day or two. 

Experimenting with a scratchier way of rendering with this style, based on the illustrations I did for my Somno zine. Those were all b&w, so it's fun to take it further!
