They purposefully nerf themselves depending on what they're hunting and whether that specific predator has earned certain weaponry. It's not that their tech is getting better over time its just that they're allowed to use better tech as humans get more advanced. They still want the hunt to have some semblance of fairness even if in reality its not all that fair π
