It's common but not for your own child to do it. He was being a brat. A funny brat, though.

i literally just watched it three hours ago and i think it'd be a really good trio movie watch. i know lupa's not really into k-content but it's an extremely good movie in its own right and the fight sequences are dope

For the shop, I think she was in the middle of signing the contract / lease / what have you (the page with the red stamps, most Koreans have personal name stamps for official signatures), but redirected her portion of the funds to pay for Geum-myeong going abroad instead. Which like...I guess I get it? Pride and all. But if I was opening a shop as a long-term dream of mine and some other lady said they were willing to send my child abroad on their dime I personally probably would not let pride or shame keep me from having the best of both worlds, lmao.

You should check out kpop demon hunters

Okay, so I actually learned about this because it confused me in some other shows too: Eun-myeong MAY have been calling Ae-sun "Geum-myeong's mom" to be petty, but that's also just a common thing to do in Korean? Like, someone will legit call their own spouse "[child's name]'s mother / father" instead of their actual name as a term of endearment lol. Schoolteachers and neighbors also will sometimes refer to someone as "[child's name]'s mother / father" instead of their name.

Before the series ends I hope I see Korean Roseanne Barr lose everything. I'm invested in her failure. If this is the resolution it's better than nothing.

I think for her it's less ur accomplishments are my accomplishments and more i will give u everything i never had,I want u to pursue ur dreams and I get satisfaction knowing u were able to accomplish everything u want. She isn't pushing/ pressuring her daughter to do the things she never did. The daughter has freedom to do what she pleases but she has guilt that pursuing her dreams is costing her family. Her parents want to give her everything but she is upset that they r not living a good life bcoz of her ambitions. The parents sacrifices feels burdensome to the kids but it brings them joy to give their children everything. If u ask them, they may not have gotten everything they dreamed about and lived cushy lives but they r still happy and content.

im a bit torn on the living vicariously through your children. selling your house so your kid can study would be a massisve burden on them.

My parents gave me all so I could go to the best engineering college in my country. I couldn’t help but to tear up in this episode.

Also about the store, Ae-sun and the 3 aunties were going to be joint owners of it with one of the aunties being the main owner. In the scene when she was on the phone with Geum-myeong, there were already 3 red name stamps in the purchase agreement (which are basically their signatures) with the one stamp at the top being from the main owner. So by that point, the aunties already signed the contract and juuust as Ae-sun was going to stamp on her name, Geum-myeong started talking about studying abroad. That's why she put down the stamp and closed it.

Someone from reddit explained that the stamp on Gwan-sik's wrist was from cheonan independence hall (the museum Ae-sun mentioned), which is about 80 km/50 miles away from seoul. So I think after attending the opening of the museum, he and the group he travelled with was given free time to roam around and have a little vacation in the mainland. But Gwan-sik spent that time to go all the way to seoul national university to see Geum-myeong and waited all day for her without knowing exactly when she would come back :')

PERSONALLY I would like to make it through one freaking episode of this show without crying PLS🤌🏾
