Exploring the Museum for Free
Since it’s been raining all day from morning till evening, I decided to skip the outdoor spots like lakes, beaches, and hills. Instead, I went for the best option—visiting somewhere close to my hotel. I ended up at an art museum in Manila called the Arts Museum. And guess what? Entrance is totally free!! How cool is that??
There was quite a long line though, lots of people waiting to g...

So for my first day, I chose this place because it’s close to the onsen. The hostel is called Cheese Hostel. and I got a rate of 25 USD per night. They also have bunk beds available, but I went for a private room with my own bed.

The room was very clean and well-ma...

After a short nap, I started feeling a bit hungry, so I decided to grab something to eat first.

Let’s head downstairs!

This place is really designed for comfort—there’s even an aquarium and a kids’ playroom. So yes, you can definitely bring children along here too.
Off to the Philippines, Arriving at Dawn!
Around 3:31 in the morning, I landed at Manila’s Ninoy Aquino Airport. Welcome to the Philippines!

Don’t forget to fill this out first—just like in Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. Super easy and quick!
After finishing all the immigration steps and picking up my luggage, I booked a Grab car to head to my accommodation. I couldn’t check in yet, but luckily they let me d...

Solo Day in Kota Kinabalu: How I Spent My Last Day Here
Honestly guys, I was kinda confused about what to do in KK since my friend already went back to Indonesia. But before that, let’s do a quick review of my capsule hotel here! It’s called Jpod Capsul Hotel and I got it for only 12 USD.
They gave me a capsule unit on the 3rd floor, and guess what—there’s no elevator here, just stairs all the way up and down haha.
Now let’...

The next day!!!
We planned to head out of Kota Kinabalu to visit one of the tourist spots, Pyramid Hills. But before that, since it’s going to be quite a long trip—around 100 km and more than 2 hours on the road—we decided to grab some breakfast first at Guan's. The menu here has lots of options, and the prices...

I actually arrived in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah in the late afternoon. But since I had to wait for my friends from Indonesia, I ended up hanging around the airport until 10 PM. We finally reached our friend’s place (yep, crashing there! 😆) around 11 PM.
But before heading home, we made a quick stop at the night market for some bites! I grabbed 1 piece of fried chicken for RM 3 (around 0.72USD) and a plate of fried noodles for RM 5 (around 1.19USD). Yumm...

My flight leaves Brunei around 3:30 PM, which means I need to be on the way to the airport right after checking out at 12 PM. So, in the morning, I planned a relaxed activity close to the hotel — jogging!
Around 7 AM, I got ready to jog. Honestly, whenever I travel, I always pack workout clothes, whether I end up using them or not hahaha.

Last Night: Snacking at the Night Market
Since it’s still the king’s birthday celebration, the people of Brunei are continuing the festivities until September. Before heading back to the hotel, I wanted to do some snacking here. The night market is located right around the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque — the same mosque I visited on the first day.

Heading to Crocodile Beach???
After Jummah prayer, we headed straight to a beach called Berakas Beach. My friend comes here often alone to tan. The place is really quiet — only 3-4 families around. It’s easy to access but a bit unkempt, with no guards. Entrance is free!
But wait — food first, right? This time we went to his friend’s eatery, Nasi K...

Day 2 in Brunei — Eat, Play, Eat, Play
Around 9:30 in the morning, I was taken to a popular breakfast spot here called Ximply Chriz One Riverside. It’s a dining place located in an apartment complex by the river — and you can even order by scanning a code here.

Nighttime in Brunei — Dinner and Gym
After watching the beautiful sunset, we decided to grab a meal. My friend took me to a unique place called Liyana Restaurant. I’m not quite sure why it has a low rating — to me, everything seemed perfectly fine.

A one-day trip to several tourist spots
After visiting the museum, I was taken to one of the most iconic mosques in Bandar Seri Begawan — the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque.
You know what? This mosque was built by the 28th Sultan of Brunei in 1954 and completed in 1958 — so it’s been around for about 67 years! If it were a person, it would already b...

Onsen time again! Feeling a bit excited (and nervous) to try the ‘Men Only’ onsen!
