Actually I think the world would be pretty melancholy if this happen in real life...it would feel like a death march for everyone. I mean you didn't really anybody going crazy during Y2k freak-out or 2012 doomsday. I do think there would be a lot of suicides' though

My running idea is that they want to take Axel out first because Axel is actually already cured and they don't want him alive for anyone to be able to get access to anything related to the cure.
