Secondly, at least according to the books the gifts that vampires have do not automatically pass down from maker to made. And some gifts do not manifest no matter how old you get. With the exception of the sun (it seems like all vampires when you get old enough are able to be out, although I think you would have to be much older than 500) Vampire gifts are fairly random. The show might be doing it slightly different. I don’t know for sure.
