I mean, I agree with everything except "most people understand they are near replicas of their manga/LN counterparts". Thats just not true. ESPECIALLY if it goes from LN->Anime and not LN->Manga->Anime. If an anime is a straight adaptation from a light novel? They usually cut out MASSIVE amounts of content. For example, Overlord was more or less adapted straight from its light novel, and they cut out massive amounts of content as a result. But they have to. Light novels are usually INSANELY dense, so trying to adapt everything would need a 1000 episode anime lmao. In the case of Solo Leveling, its especially difficult since the web novel had SO much text. A web comic reader can pause and read one of the item descriptions because its just an image and they can stare at it as long as they want. But an anime has a runtime, and can only pause to show an item description for so long. If Solo Leveling was 100% faithful to the web comic (let alone the light novel which is 10x as dense), it would have to pause like 20 times an episode so that the viewer could read item/ability descriptions. Like 50% of each episode would just be spent on that. All of that aside, there were a lot of things that were intentionally changed from the web comic which I think were for the better. For instance, Jin Woo straight up murders one of the prisoners from that one dungeon a while back in the web comic, but he doesn't in the anime. I think this is for the better, as it paints him as a bit more of a good-guy. The choice to do signal interference instead of cutting the feed was also better for the drama I think. *Finale spoiler* I REALLY like how they handled the healer's revival in the most recent episode, as opposed to the web comic. I remember it being a lot more morally dubious in the web comic, whereas its handled really well in the anime.

Jinwoo really did waist the elixir of life, and it makes him look really stupid because the elixir's description clearly says that it cures diseases. I double checked the description it had in the anime and it says, "A mystical potion that cures all diseases using powerful magic." Him using the elixir on Cha is quite possibly the most bone-headed change that the anime has made to the source material. We just saw the description of the elixir 4 episodes ago, and canonically, he just made the elixirs less than 5 days ago, so the description should be fresh in his mind. Not to mention, with all the time he's been focused curing his mom, he would've had the elixir's description burned into his memory.

I'm not sure if your the type that cares about the differences between the anime vs mahwa, but I've been recently just giving tidbits for reactors so they could have a bit more insight. For starters... 1. The camera mans feed was cut short in the anime because of some signal interference but in the manwha it was the broadcaster who shut it down, because they didn't want all of humanity to see their S-Rank hunters being absolutely slaughtered. They only bring back the broadcast after Jin Woo joins the party and put their hope in Jin Woo because that's all they got. To add on to this Jin Woo doesn't tell the camera man anything regarding the camera until very later on, so Jin Woo doesn't actually care that the world see him resurrect the ants. 2. Last episode, they kind of gave a inference that Goto died and confirmed it this episode. This is actually kinda important since Goto is the 2nd strongest hunter at this point (before Jin Woo) also it's important because it gives you an understanding on how powerful The Ant King is truly is. Something they don't touch base in this fight is that Jin Woo states that The Ant King is as strong as the Demon King that he fought in Demon Castle, but that Jin Woo has leveled up since then. 3. in the manwha Jin Woo actually has no struggle with the Ant King, the Ant king actually only gets that first hit and the poison hit and that's it. I personally like that Jin Woo had a small bit of struggle with the Ant King, because it gives a bit of struggle...even though it was little to non existent 4. I don't know why they did this, but if it wasn't already mentioned to you the Ant King gains abilities and/or memories of those he eats. Last episode he gained the memories of the Ant Queen and is immediate reason for him attacking Cha first as she's the one who got the finishing blow. He also gained speech from Byung-Gyu and something else. Lastly, he apparently gained ice powers? I'm a little confused on that one because he doesn't have them in the manwha, but last episode we see the ice mage head on the ground partially eaten, so he got them from him. 5. This one isn't all too important, but in the initial frame where Jin Woo is with his summons, its actually really fuking bad ass in the manwha, because its not just his strongest summons it also some of his grunt summons so its a lot more filled in the panel that it took up 2 panels. 6. Y'all are correct Japan is a piece of shit... well more like the Chairman is a piece of shit and he normally doesn't keep sending his last 3 S-Ranks back into the battlefield like he wanted this episode. 7. Shadow Exchange only works once every 3 hours, so since he used it to get there he can't use it again until 3 hours pass. I hope this gives you some insight on some stuff that was different between source material and animation. Personally I did not love the episode, but I didn't hate it. Though I do admit y’all made we like it even more 😂. Though all that just steams from my dislike of the production taking out details that are semi-important for the viewer to know or even the funny moments in the manwha which to me made it even more enjoyable. Though I understand they had a particular direction they wanted to aim for with the anime. Though this doesn't mean i don't admit this was a really great episode.

For the shadow's that died, they all return to Jin Woo. He can recreate them as long as he has mana. He doesn't lose any shadows unless he dismisses them himself. Also let's not forget that Jin Woo turned his transmog settings on and turned the armor off. He's wearing S rank items from his dungeon dive against the demons. They SKIPPED a lot of the system boxes that explained a bunch to get from hype to hype.

Those are still S-rank. National Level is less a rank and more a title. They were named as such due to their feats rather than their power levels, which just like other S-ranks can't be measured. S-rank to begin with is where the ranking system becomes literally meaningless. Source material Jinwoo remarks that how much stronger Cha is than Choi (the so-called "ultimate hunter" by the Korean media just because explosions are easy for the public to understand) is comparable to the difference between an A-rank and an E-rank. I didn't complain about the last episode when it came out cause I know that when the quality of an episode goes down (specially in the end of the season) is because a really good Episode will follow but it was not the case for this one other than maybe 5 minutes in where there was a good animation (the fight).

I mean, I mentioned One Piece cause Gear 5 was one of the things I was expecting to have an awesome animation, the same as this fight considering that is the last one of the season, then it's a little lore before a really good arc, but using another anime, Kimetsu no Yaiba, if you compare the animation of any of the episodes with this one and the previous one, you can see that there are awkward pauses, no music in where you could put at least some tension, not to mention the static shots that even I could do, just draw something and make the cam go from left to right, etc, etc. Maybe I can see this because that's usually what I notice more than the story and dialogues, just like how the apothecary diaries has micro animations even when there's nothing happening, and considering how big Solo leveling is in terms of popularity, I just feel that the past two episodes have been lacking compared to the rest of the season.

Honestly, I'm more disappointed in this one than what I was with one piece gear 5, the difference with gear 5 is that they animated that like super clean (in terms of movements and in an animation perspective rather than a viewer) but things were too messy, in here I feel like a kid was the director of this and the last episode, so unless there's movie-like animation in the last one, then this was a bad ending for season 2.

Jinwoo has on armor, but I'm not sure why a lot of people are saying the show only "briefly shows him putting on armor" lol. Literally ever time he's been in a system created dungeon and the drops give a new piece of armor he puts it on while on screen and it turns invisible (last 2 episodes of season 1 & throughout the demon tower here in season 2) Also its been forever since they've shown the Passive skill he has so its pretty easy to forget. he got it after the double dungeon at the start of season 1. Part of what makes this fight really cool to me is that Jinwoo senses anxiety on the ant king because the ant king ate so many hunters. Then, once the ant king realized he couldn’t win, he tried to run in fear, trying to preserve his life, much like a human would.

This episode was LITERAL PEAK!!! There's few things that I noticed in that fight: 1. Those were Baran's daggers (demon monarch from the castle) and they have a considerable boost when both used together. 2. I think the composer of this song when Beru was going into pure speed mode was Sawano that did the AOT soundtrack . 3. It was shown off screen and this wasn't shown in the manhwa but Beru stole the ice move from that japanese hunter that he devoured. They wanted to give a not so subtle answer to why he knew how to attack the Cha first because it was out for revenge. 4. That eye animation was a cool throw back to the fight between Deku and Overhaul in MHA when he delivered the final blows. 5. At the start where Jinwoo got his daggers out, he activated stealth and his speed abilities shown by the animation. 6. The detoxing was just part of his passive first ability like how he's not able to get drunk from alcohol. I'm sure theres plenty more i missed.

The system didn't offer him an upgrade. Mutilation is the maxed out level of critical strike. If you're familiar with rpgs, skills often get different names as they level up

fatal strike upgraded into mutilation. if you notice right before the ant pins jin you see like 10 blue strikes. each of those was fatal strike meaning it upgraded right after those 10 hits. system didn't give an upgrade he just upgraded what he already had right before he got pinned

Mutilation is the ultimate form of his skill Critical Strike, that's the one he used against Igris. You pretty much spend mana to ensure a critical hit against your enemy and Mutilation is the same skill but on steroids. What I got from that scene is that he used Critical Strike against Beru right before he got pushed down and almost killed (the part with the lights around him and then Beru suddenly getting hit by a ton of hits instantly) and that's probably what gave him enough Skill EXP for it to get upgraded, so if he hadn't used the skill right before that, he probably would have gotten clapped.

This is still the prologue of the actual story/threats. Jinwoo is an OP MC but hes only vastly above everyone in the first part of the series, and even then he fights ppl like Baron and the Elf guy who take him to extreme dif in a 4v1 with all his shadows

I love and hate Sung Jin Woo and The System power, Beru was bouta cave his face in and win but then Jin Woo gets the skill upgrade at the perfect moment 😭. I’m fully aware that the system will do anything/everything to keep him alive just like multiple times in the past but this time got me a bit tight bc cmon not even an injury on him just a little cardio, I still like him, the show and bc he’s a cool MC and the show is hype but just wish he struggled a bit more instead of it coming down to 1 or 2 fatal moments. Watching this show make me even more sad God of High School failed the way it did. Interesting characters can always bump up an ordinary premise. But the rule of cool applies to all media, just hope the show can keep its world interesting enough to where people want to stay associated with it. I think they can.
