Ppl should honestly not care about the timeline and plot holes as much when it comes to DBZ. I think a lot of ppl forgot that the story of DBZ is technically done. Daima and Super is just filling in that 10yr gap after the bus saga ended. So there we're already gonna be changes to the original story from the get go.

Ima give this an 8/10 like Lupa. I Just think ppl forgot how the Dragonball story telling went bc everyone is so use to Z and Super now. Plus folks just salty there predictions were wrong for the series. We got plenty of Lore that was never explained before, but I know most ppl are only gonna care about the fights and transformations smh. Im honestly not mad at the SSJ4 or the fusion bug not being used. It's obvious the Toriyama just gave Toyotarou the ultimate assist with the story bc now the Demon realm, fusion bugs and SSJ4 can now be used in the Manga!

Daima has nothing to do with super. Don't focus on the idea of "canon". The only thing canon is that it is associated with toriyama's official last work which is the buu saga which is why it was placed in this spot. Shueisha the company that's owns the rights to DB released the official timeline before and GT is actually associated with the "canon" if you really want to follow it. Every interview you look up from this the only thing they associated it with is the Buu Saga that's it. no mention of Super at all unlease it's fan made interpretation which is why so much misinformation has been spread. This is also why I specified Toriyama agreed to include GT as apart of his story as a side quest venture similar to what he has down with Daima and Super as well. So to refer to something as noncanon when toriyama approved it to be linked to where he finished the manga is very silly. So yes toriyama thought this through very well, you just have it stuck in your head that just because of where it was placed means it has continuity errors because you are forcing it to be linked to Super.

I would've much rather gotten a brand new fusion form over Ultra Vegeta 1 and repurposed slight redesign SSJ4 Goku that no matter what they try to say Goku didn't achieve it on his own through training. First time e was when Neva gave him the ass pull.

Yeah the odd story choices in certain points were weird but it is a DAMM good show overall!!! I hope they explain the it in the future and be more consistent with the lore in the future. 20 episodes was perfect for this smaller arc in the DB universe.

Goku says ssj3 is as far as he could go in super before he got god ki. I love Dragon ball but Toriyama wasn't the best story teller, even before super or daima. The cell saga is probably my favorite saga but i can point out a bunch of stuff that doesn't make sense about it

GT despite following the events of the end of Z isn't canon tho. Also this 100% takes place before the events of Super, cause it's Trunks birthday and he says he turning 9, he was 8 in the Buu saga. The timeline is DB-DBZ-Daima-DBS-end of Z. It's just confusing cause he didn't think things through. He should have just made a canon continuation of Z instead of trying to fit prequels in between the end of Z. I love Dragon Ball but Toriyama has always had inconsistency and plot holes in his work even before Super or Daima

I'll give Toriyama credit when it came to at least being kickass in a different way (and reminds me of something): remember when Kid Goku literally shot through King Piccolo into his chest with himself as a bullet? I appreciate the fact that his Kamehameha blew through the clown's chest (and into the next 2 demon worlds) lol XD I'm surprised you guys skipped the credits, because there was funny shit of what the Kai and the Clown were doing in that bottle lol XD But yeah, I agree w/ your guys' opinion w/ this show...: some episodes could've been cut out to maybe 12-14 episodes w/o the ship(s) breaking down every time (hell, I think those bugs were used as a plot device/excuse for them to go back to that shop for that so-called "twist" at the end)... I wouldn't be surprised if Toriyama based this off of his other game series (Dragon Quest I think?) and it shows after looking up some elements here and there... I also wouldn't be surprised if Toriyama "forgot" yet again about the continuity bit (like him somehow rewriting Goku's origin story for the Broly movie, changing it to more like Superman than what was established Goku's own story from the DBZ series or the fact that Shin.......)... At the very least, it was a fun ride nonetheless, knowing how much Toriyama sensei put into the lore of this show, especially that we got confirmation that the Namekians and the Kais (or Glinds, whatever) are demons based on their pointy ears. For me, it's a 7/10 in the kickass battles and being the proper GT w/ the majority of the main characters turning into kids and not just Goku.

Yeah I know little to known about what Toriyama wants for Dragon Ball and I know he was a little bit involved with GT. I just google it but someone can fact check me but he didn't write any of the story for GT but he did create some images and did a some other little stuff for GT. I think after the Buu saga he told his story for Dragon ball and was sort of done with it and didn't really mind if other people wrote stories for it.

honestly I don't see where the continuity issues are.. yes they never really bring up the transformation in super.. but the ssj4 is useless. It probably consumes even more energy than ssj3(the reason why they barely use it) and it's way weaker than ssj god. No point using ssj3 and 4.. for weaker opponents ssj2 is good enough and for stronger opponents just go for the ssj god.

This show definitely could have been shrunk in the first half, but overall I thought it was cool. Definitely some character let downs lol, but all will be forgiven if any of this demon realm stuff will be relevant later on. i don't think this series happened for no reason. Toyotarou is good enough to create cohesiveness in the story, but the studio just need to give him the keys.

What Sheera was saying is there have been fan theories (just trying to find ANY way they could connect it) saying that the dream Beerus had of the “Super Saiyain God” was actually SSJ4. But none of them knew it as that name and were clueless what he meant. They made the wish which told them how to make an actual “SSJG” and then it continued scaling from there. But the theory is that’s why SSJ4 is red like SSJG. Still plenty of holes in that theory but i guess would be a cool way to spin it

I love dragon ball but all these continuity errors make the series and the integrity of the show very frustrating like breaking rules already set decades ago, bringing shit up just to not use them, not explaining shit or just making shit up to brush off shit, the manga does a better job but still has some problems. But i still love this IP i just wish they took more care into their continuity as other shows. I swear if they animate the manga all these complaints will lower but not totally disappear and truly bring dragon ball to its prime glory

Continuity in modern day DB is messy to say the least. Prime example, Gohan fought Kefla in the Super manga version of the ToP but didn’t in the show or even Goku using hakai against Merged Zamasu in the manga but not in the show. Absolutely love and respect Toryiama but canon and continuity just weren’t that important for them as opposed to us here in the US. It’s crazy to me how Toei treats a massive property like Dragonball in comparison to One Piece which gets so much more care and attention all around.

This was dope, but I'm gonna think of this as it's own thing opposed to fitting it between Z and Super. I don't really care about continuity, though criticisms about that are valid. While I enjoyed the OG Dragonball vibes, this could have been 13 episodes. And Toriyama was in his gag bag with this, no fusion and having the evil third eye at a convenience spot. The charge up goku does is a reference to DBZ original op of cha la head cha la and the front perspective of the kamehameha is also a reference to a drawing of goku firing the kamehameha in base form (7:45)

I really enjoyed this ride but I won't lie, I felt like a bit of a bitch at the end lol. Knowing this was Toriyama's last work kinda hit me in the chest a bit. I would've much rather gotten a brand new fusion form over Ultra Vegeta 1 and repurposed slight redesign SSJ4 Goku that no matter what they try to say Goku didn't achieve it on his own through training. First time e was when Neva gave him the ass pull.

Yeah the odd story choices in certain points were weird but it is a DAMM good show overall!!! I hope they explain the it in the future and be more consistent with the lore in the future. 20 episodes was perfect for this smaller arc in the DB universe.

With how it ended it is not canon to Super no matter what anyone else tries to say.

Goku says ssj3 is as far as he could go in super before he got god ki. I love Dragon ball but Toriyama wasn't the best story teller, even before super or daima. The cell saga is probably my favorite saga but i can point out a bunch of stuff that doesn't make sense about it

Super and Daima are prequels to the end of Z.

Yeah we've pretty much known this was an alternate continuity since episode 1 when Shin and Kibito defused. Idk why people so easily accept there being thousands of different Supermans but have an aneurysm at the thought of there being different Gokus.

Toriyama himself has always said he makes the story and adds ideas as he pleases and if it doesn’t fit what he’s said before then its whatever. “Canon” has been a secondary thing so I don’t mind stuff not fitting.

The charge up goku does is a reference to DBZ original op of cha la head cha la and the front perspective of the kamehameha is also a reference to a drawing of goku firing the kamehameha in base form (7:45)

Overall this was a fun and nostalgic experience, obviously there were some things that I wasn't too keen on but definitely would give this a solid 7/10.

I get that a portion of the fanbase won't like it, because its more old school DB than it is Super, but I loved it. It reminded me of how Dragon Ball used to feel, fun and hype. Imo Super is kinda mid, too much focus on fights over substance.
