They are like 2 points below an angry mob that will just start crashing out at anything. Tabitha tried to explain why telling someone was bad idea cause it could get her locked up in a psyche ward(she did tell the preacher and he thought she was just using that story as a way to cope for some other situation that she’s been through) and they just kept cutting her off before she could explain the whole picture saying what she did wasn’t enough. Victors dad tried to explain what the park visit was for(and how his family is connected to the place) and they immediately dismissed it. They only want info that’s beneficial to them in terms of getting out of there immediately. They are selfish and scared human beings only worried about themselves only showing some sense of care only when someone’s hurt. Which is in line with a real world scenario for when shit hits the fan, everybody starts panicking looking out for only themselves.

I wanted Tabitha to take JADE there because hes the smartest person there and also said he wouldnt go through and I know he would try to connect dots. I was upset Jim was being annoying about that. Also we didnt "switch up" on Dale, we actually didnt call him dumb or anything cause it was a natural response. We did laugh cause its obvious the show would kill him. We also realized IN THAT MOMENT (we literally say it) only Tabitha made it to the lighthouse cause she was chosen. Also I said a couple times in the reaction people are gonna start to venture out and get clapped and thats STILL because of other not sharing EVRYTHING they know and experience in this place. Boyd telling them he went into the tree and ended up in a chimney was enough to stop pretty much everyone except Dale from doing it. Thats why sharing information is king. Boyd also should share that they saw the lighthouse without needing to go through a tree

They saw that Tabatha was able to go home and all logic went out the window even when it was explained to them you don't know where these trees will take you. The illusions and things everyone else is experiencing seem to just be the place torturing them and not the place giving them vital information to get home. I also think withholding information is a way for Boyd to remain in control .. people taking risks like dale has the ability to put more people in danger than just them. However, I don't blame the town's people for feeling frustrated. They feel like Boyd isn't doing enough especially when there seems to be ways to get home.

It's the only one that goes to the lighthouse but also goes other places. As far as Dale goes, it doesn't matter if they had tools. Dale was teleported into the wall of the pool. His atoms were mixed into the concrete of the pool wall, so even if they got him out he would have concrete throughout his body. This demonstration will make it so no one else will want to try their luck with a faraway tree.
