That came through in this episode too, and laughing at the Dieter Egan story was such an example of a harmless rebellion. Now that we know that Milchick (and Huang) are in on it you can see how they play up her "disobedience" by ruining the marshmallows. But the whole thing is kayfabe for the innies. Also, this really is going bad for Seth. So bad that the board might be inclined to bring back a certain someone. Milchick said he doesn't want to be their jailer, but field trips and free reign aren't going to get Cold Harbor done on time.

I think Cold Harbor is Mark mining his subconscious for memories of his wife so Lumon can use them to reconstruct her mind from his memories. I know that well practiced tasks use a different part of the brain and is not primarily memory based, like walking, language, driving a car, etc. "muscle memory" and whatnot. You know what a cat looks like, you could make up an image in your head based on the pattern that's hardwired in the brain. If you saw a cat you'd be able to recognize that it matches the pattern. Deeper than concepts are instincts like being afraid of certain creatures like spiders and snakes, though that part of the brain don't put a word to the pattern recognition.

This is the very first time they slept but also the very first time one of them had a dream. I think it’s entirely possible that Irving’s outtie is also reitergrated because of how the black paint visions and his art skills transferred to his innie. I think the reason that Irving’s outtie was painting the elevator was because he was dreaming of what his innie was seeing. I think they restrict sleep from the innies because their dreams are a sure way of linking them together. I think it’s possible dreams become more potent because of reintegration which is why Irving found out helly was an Eagan through the dream. It’s possible his outtie knows that helly is an Eagan which is why he was able to piece it together in his dream. We know that Irving’s outtie was already looking for other employees but he possible knows the names of the higher ups as well.

Over the course of the show the acting of helly is amazing after we saw her outtie she makes very subtle facial expressions to differentiate between helly R and helena Eagan. When you see Her face at first she looks exactly like helena but after it passes the tree her face looks exactly like helly showing the amount of acting helena is putting up to hide herlself among them. It’s literally my favorite scene in the show because of how well the micro expressions change after she passes the tree.

Also I think this was a simulation, I would guess the severed floor is as well, but it makes more sense here with the tv connected to nothing, the random NPC versions of them and Milcheck appearing out of nowhere when they called for him. Irv is the only one who's outie was already having dreams of the inside and was already investigating Lumon without being reintegrated and his innie was also already having dreams of the paintings his outie was doing. So his outie and innie were already still subconsciously connected despite the severing. I imagine if Irv ends up reintegrated, it will probably work much faster and better on him than anyone else. There is something about Irv, whether it be intelligence or intuition, that the severing was not able to cut.
