Chinatsu told her friends that she wasn’t *actively* seeking a relationship because she’s busy with sports. That means essentially nothing in the scale of things otherwise we wouldn’t have a show. So on one hand you’ve got the girl who can’t sort her own feelings out and the guy who can’t his own actions out. 11 episodes deep and they’ve properly hung out by themselves a single time and it was because his friend set it up for him. I mean he could’ve reassured her that it was only a mistake and to not worry about it instead of doubling down on the misunderstanding that she was putting distance between them rather than just apologizing for not being more mindful of him as a guy her age.

Ichikawa was also an incredibly reserved kid that was the type to let stuff get under his skin and go into depressive episodes. Progress was made with his self esteem before it was made romantically. Here it’s just a roadblock of bad communication. Chinatsu is passive and reserved romantically and Taiki is outgoing but naive and bad at reading people so they just keep misreading each other and backpedaling on what little progress they’ve made. I’m sure a slow progression is natural for their personality types but damn if it ain’t frustrating.

Dude is sabotaging himself which is just frustrating to watch. Especially since me the viewer knows it's such a dumb misunderstanding that could've been solved if he just talked to her. Cheers to Hina for telling him straight up though. Wish she coulda done the same for hanging out with him alone though. I'd be down for them getting together. Would be quite the twist. Also, Kyo is a wingman for everyone. Dude could get a girl easy but uses his lack of density making sure everyone around him gets their best shot lol. I think having recently watched Too Many Losing Heroines and The Dangers in my Heart spoiled me.
