One decided to rock with the soul reapers, and one decided to rock with the Quincy's. It's kind of like all the micro mini monsters that we saw pouring into the soul society but on a much larger scale, this being the soul King's actual arms.

Like yes he is villain coded absolutely, but he also knows that he needs to win this battle to lessen the load on the rest. This was not an opponent anyone else could faced given their ability comparisons to current people on the board. Maybe Rukia with her bankia but she would have to also be alone for it. And he does do a significant amount for the people of the soul society, a good chunk of tech he developed he keeps for himself for sure, but he as much keeps to himself he is the tech support provides the fix when needed. He even did the dirty work to keep the worlds balanced by eliminating spirits because it had to be done when the qunicies started making moves . Even-though he only joined the 13 squads to avoid prison (if I remember the older episodes correct I remember younger him was chained, could be wrong) he has the respect for the organization and a want to keep causalities to a minimum.

When that meeting got hostile, Ichibei sealed Ywach's Almighty by branding him with the Soul King's power, which took the appearance of his Left Arm. Somehow Ywach extracted that seal off him which manifested itself into Pernida. That's how the Left Arm is fighting by Ywach's side. The manga never, ever explained this but that anime exclusive flashback pretty much put context into Pernida being here.

Juha was getting upset during the talk and when he grabbed ichibei's left hand and starting displaying his Almighty (2 irises), ichibei used the left hand of the soul king to seal his ability (the giant hand popped out and grabbed Juha). That's part of the explanation as to why Juha has him as one of his elite guard.
