2024-10-30 18:52:38 +0000 UTCYou don't have to white knight that hard, Nubian. We're all aware she was in Arkham for 10 years. That definitely fucks people up. But this character didn't lose her intelligence in asylum, she gained madness. The problem I have with her character is, she's far too sane for having spent literally 10 YEARS in an asylum. She would be a maddened, raving lunatic who's BARELY keeping it together half the time after that, and instead we get a pretty damn sane and smart, cunning person who can somehow have elegant conversations and comprehensive dialogue with people, with 0 hints of insanity. Writing insanity is quite difficult, but it's not impossible. A character like her would likely ramble to herself incessantly mid-convo at times, have strange idiosyncrasies that keep her grounded, made weird facial expressions, was more explosive when speaking- there's all kinds of things she could have been given to demonstrate why it's extremely hard for her to adjust back to the real world and why it's even harder to get involved in the criminal world. But we get a very sane person on the show instead, and that's why it clearly seems to bother people that she only has a track list of failures next to a small list of accomplishments for 6 episodes on the show.

I never said it like it ruined the episode or anything for me. It was just a small complaint/concern that I had, and it is literally the only thing. For me, it just felt like she found them way too soon. It could be the way they filmed it, and it will be fixed in the next episode, showing her struggling to find the right place and leading up to the moment this show ends. Either way, it's not that big of a deal. Compared to problems other shows have, this is nothing lol.

And based on the info she was given it is reasonable because she is a person who can turn a few doorknobs. She isn’t like incapable of doing that. And if you are looking for a reason as to why they wouldn’t just show a little scene of it, is because it would absolutely ruin the reveal at the end. So if they do show it then it would be at beginning of next episode and would be the absolute right decision. I don’t disagree that it would be cool to see her searching, so if it happens next episode that’s even better.

Fine, if they are truly the only ones in that building, then it's fine. But, then, how did she get the right building unless she was told by someone outside or she just tried each building? The zoo line should have brought her to that block, not the exact building. Maybe I am just overthinking it, but for this show, they don't seem to leave stuff like that overlooked, so that's why I hope it shows a bit from her point of view in the next episode, showing her arriving at the apartment.

I mean all that she was told was in Crown Point near the Zoo. You know how many apartment buildings and apartments are in that area. Yet, she came into that apartment confident like she knew that was the right one. For all she knew, it could have been some rando's apartment. So, I do hope next episode it shows her getting some extra info from someone nearby, or shows her just breaking into every apartment until she got lucky with this one.

I can't imagine your parent saying that to you and the mix of emotions like that. All I could think for half this episode was "God I hope my mom never gets anything like this." Dementia is the scariest thing in the world and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Also, pretty sure dementia is a catch-all term for any memory loss or degeneration of the brain and thinking to the point of it affecting daily life. So it's still accurate to say Oz's mom has dementia even though we don't know what the disease is.

I have a very very bad feeling that it may be the end for both VIc and Francis next episode. I like Vic a lot and think he's an amazing character but I'm wondering if they gave Oz this "Robin" so that when he dies Oz can finally have his evolution from "Oz" to "Penguin" by the end of the show. The next episode is called "Top Hat" too! The way Vic and Oz met was the same way Batman met Jason Todd and Sophia holding the crowbar at the end made my heart stop. I think they may go full on Joker-Jason Todd with this one where she kills them with the crowbar. Either that or she kills Vic and Oz kills his mom himself to finally set himself free. Lastly, I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier since there were so many hints but I guess Rex Calabrese is Oz's dad in this universe? So fucking dope.
