It feels a little disjointed (for obvious reasons) and I would have loved to see all of this is a 24ep first season, but I think these vignettes are even funnier on their own. Unrelated: PLEASE consider watching Shadows House. It would make a killer dou reaction. I know yall have to respond to the demands of the people, and the Your Lie people are going to riot soon, but Shadows House is fucking good! Worth having in your back pocket.

Also after you finish Missing Pieces, y,all should react to My Happy Marriage. It will give you a break from the romcom genre as it’s a romance fantasy action drama and season 2 premieres in January. It’s really good and I think you two would enjoy it.

2024-10-26 11:21:25 +0000 UTCRegarding the reason why they did "the missing pieces" instead of just adapting it normally, there are a few reasons I believe. Cloverworks is relatively a really new studio and used to have the old "Madhouse effect" where they would just adapt a series with only around 1 season in mind. Also, if you look at a lot of their anime from 2017-2021, although they all look gorgeous there's a pretty noticeable problem with cramming too much content and messing up the pacing. Horimiya season 1 came out in 2021 which was a REALLY big year for Cloverworks doing butchered adaptations/anime (in terms of story and pacing). It was the year they made Promised Neverland S2, Wonder Egg priority and Horimiya. However, in the last 2.5 years, I think they've noticed and have really changed things up. Bunny Girl Senpai finally got a sequel announcement after 5 years and they heard the fan outcries for all the skipped content in Horimiya and decided to make The Missing Pieces in 2023. All of their adaptations in the last couple of years now have not only looked great but have had excellent pacing and also sequel announcements (Spy x Family, My Dress Up Darling, Wind Breaker, The Elusive Samurai, Bunny Girl Senpai). It's pretty unusual for studios to make a sequel season that covers the in-between chapters they skipped from the manga, so honestly I'm just happy we got more content at all. I wonder if we'll ever get a "The Promised Neverland: The Missing Show"

Cause for most of anime history it was the male, and making it the female was a way to make fun of the trope. All these modern animes got you confused about how the trope works just like how "how the tables turned" eventually became "how the turn tables". It's to the point that people actually forget that it's a parody of the original, and think that's just how it always is.
