I think I saw people complain about the break time covering it. If it’s something we were expected to find out on our own, then it’s handled pretty shitty. I still think it was better to wait and see how production handled it rather than LN pointing it beforehand. That way the LN readers and anime watchers can both be disappointed or surprised together.

bro Al was just revealed in a fucking break time episode. we do care about how the anime progresses because it's our favorite story and want to see it succeed. however the majority of us are aware of how shit re:zero can be regarding reveals of things, specifically in the case of revealing a big plot point in a way no one would ever hear about. such as dropping that al is from earth in re:zero's side story show, re:zero break time. I'd also thought they were retconning his reveal, but apparently not. this just gives more reason for light novel readers to point things like that out, because they literally wouldn't know otherwise. that being said, I do hold out hope that since the people in charge of break time are different from the ones in charge of the official anime, i hope that Al's reveal in that BT episode isn't considered anime canon. We point these light novel things out specifically because kadokawa and possibly even tappei seem to think that only light novel/web novel fans watch re:zero. so we want people to know the things that they SHOULD KNOW by now, but don't because of cut content or things that just aren't explained well in an anime format. edit: lmao sorry bout that first part the reveal had me tight asl😭

well they ended up revealing it in a fucking break time episode😭 re:zero's biggest flaw (in its entirety) is that important details are often elaborated on or revealed in the quietest way. its like reiner telling eren he's the armored titan but every 5 seconds it's a random bombshell in some side story no one's heard of. that's why light novel readers try to let everyone know of cut content or side story shit; because no one knows when or how something will be revealed, ESPECIALLY across mediums. for example, in this case Al had been revealed to be from earth in the LN in arc 3, season 1. Now, he's been revealed to be from earth in the anime, BUT it was on a side story show called "Re:zero break time" that NOBODY would know about because crunchyroll doesn't even have the licensing to stream it. but everyone involved in the production of re:zero seems to want to fuck it over except for the animation studio white fox lmao. Now, even though we thought he'd get a better reveal in the anime, he was just revealed to be from earth in a side story show these three will never watch. this is why light novel readers point those things out.

I have a feeling how their going to handle it because in the novels, it was actually completely out of the blue, it actually didnt make much sense why Tappei had Al be revealed he was from earth in Arc 3 (Season 1 capital) because it didnt provide any plot relevance. It didn't even make Subaru think differently like him "not being special" being Isekai that some people I've seen cope and claim. He still thought he was special until episode 18 when those death loops smashed it into him he never was special to begin with. There is one cut content about Al but I won't say but it does have actually more plot relevance because it has to do with Rem and Ram and Rem and Ram in season 1 backstory is very much plot relevant. But they skipped it because they didn't know Season 1 going to be that popular for a 2nd, 3rd + seasons.

Your absolutely right, the original reveal of Al being from our world literally had no build up to it, it had served absolutely no purpose in Arc 3 or Arc 4 whats so ever. However there was one scene that did have meaning and that was his interaction with Rem and knowing Ram is alive. Calling Rem disgusting and saying "so thats what it is, makes me want to vomit" now that true cut content and something you wont ever know unless someone tells you. So Al being from our world = SPOILER Al calling I think it was Rem or Ram disgusting is cut content Same with like Satella being split personality, that's just pure cut content and wanted the viewers to put that piece together given the two different interactions you see of Satella.

Al being from Japan is not a spoiler. in the light novel it was revealed in early arc 3 (season 1, the arc with betelgeuse). the reason the anime didn't adapt it was bc white fox made an oopsies and didn't expect r0 to do as well as it did. now, it's probably being put off so Al can have a better introduction. point is, you technically were supposed to know that already, if the anime followed events canonically.

But the anime also hasn't even mentioned or alluded that both Subaru and Al know their both from another world given this season interaction, so novel readers saying "cut content" is now just being stupid and it's really "spoiler" In the "cut content" in Season 1, when Al and Priscilla pick up Subaru to go the royal meeting about the royal candidates being addressed and Subaru's "cringe moment" Al mentions that he knows Subaru is from "our world" and Al tells Subaru he also is from Japan and Priscilla was right there also knowing about AL being from our world but also discovering Subaru is from our world, however given Priscilla doesn't remember Subaru at all anyway, that plotline doesn't matter and given there been nothing alluding to Al and Subaru knowing each other that way and Priscilla not alluding to ANYTHING about Al being from our world. This is now going into spoilers, but "novel readers" pretend that it's just cut content when it's really a plotline that will be handled at a later time in the story and I know exactly where it will be but "novel readers" don't want their favorite reactors to wait that long and see if they will have some kind different reaction or some shit to Al.

It's OBVIOUS later on in the novels that him being from "our world" will have a impact where it would be appropriate to integrate it back into the plotline. The anime has taken a different direction in some plots because Tappei the author himself is heavily involved in the production and even the plotline. he even switches things up all the time where he feels it's better. As far we know in the anime, Subaru doesn't know that either. Take note on how gluttony is speaking and the name he’s using, there’s more than one. The one that hurt rem isn’t the same as we see now, not that Subaru would know anyway since he wasn’t there when rem was clapped. Also if you don’t remember typhon, the witch they have remains of , she was the little green hair girl witch who cleaved and dismantled subaru last season in the tea party place. They cut some more content which will probably be explained next episode.

I don't remember if they explained it when Subaru was getting patched up by Felix/Felis/Ferris, but he cast a spell on Subaru's leg that took away his sense of pain. So he can run on it, but it's doing damage. Also this makes two different Archbishops of Gluttony (Lye and Roy, dunno what their deal is yet), one Lust, one Wrath, and one Greed. I keep saying it, but I have no idea how they're gonna get out of this yet. It seems so hopeless. Logically, I know Subaru's gonna figure out some way, given his ties/destiny with the Witch of Envy. But I can't see him being able to save everyone this time. I hope he's able to take out Gluttony sooner rather than later and have Rem come to the rescue. We need the extra firepower. Also, given that small glimpse we saw of Reinhard, I hope he's not benched the whole damn arc.

The warning about not telling gluttony your name makes sense bc in season 2, they say that he is able to eat your memories(which is what happened to crusch) and your name(which makes everyone forget who you are, essentially eating your existence) and if he eats both you become a husk like rem.

Subaru never met it. Just Emilia. Back during Emilia's trial w/ Mother Fortuna and Petelguese. The Black Serpent pulled up and started killing the elves, including Archie (Emilia's uncle). It also shows up in the movie when Emilia is freed from the ice and meets Puck. I'm pretty sure Emilia fought it off when that strong fire spirit pulled up

So Typhon, the witch of pride, is the one that was trapped and drowned in the city. This means that Echidna lied to Subaru in season 2 that the witch of Envy killed all the other witches because we know the entire city was constructed just to kill Typhon. I mean we know Echidna was a villain but manipulating that information to Subaru just to hurt Satella has to mean something.

I think the person that hurt Mimi is killing magic. When they first saw Mimi's injury they said that it was from the Divine blessing of the death God. That same person who gave her that injury is also the person attacking all the magic and it's disappearing. At first I thought they were just strong or swiping it away but after watching the episode with y'all it made me think nah they're definitely killing the magic attacks.

notice that Gluttony refers to themselves as "we," and "us," and stated his name was "Roy Alphard". The other Gluttony referred to themselves as "Lye Batenkaitos". there are two "gluttonies." the one subaru saw is NOT the one that ate Rem's memories/name, but he has never seen Lye before, so he assumed Roy was the one. the fact that Roy doesn't recognize subaru is proof that he had nothing to do with Rem.
