The story is still beeing told efficiently eventough sometimes its kinda hard to follow along whats actually happening on the field with these still images but yeah it sucks its like this. still its not terrible

Running animation and way more detail WAS animated, but it was scrapped by the producers to fit the impossible schedule they set for the animators. 8Bit Studios higher ups need to fuckin pay for this shit.

Just remembering how Dandadan had their first 6 episodes leaked 3 months ago is making me think the studios might be too far along in production to make big changes once the episodes start airing. By the time feedback rolls in, they could already have multiple episodes locked in. But I guess complaining could still impact future seasons or even force the studio to fix issues late or mid season if the backlash is strong enough.

What’s even worse is when the animation actively takes away from the story being presented. Because of how much I love Blue Lock I’ve definitely been one of the ones that’s been holding out hope that the animation gets better and trying to stay positive… but there is absolutely no excuse for the animation to be this bad for a series that’s as popular as this. The manga and this arc in particular was one of the highest selling manga of 2023. This arc in the manga is considered to be one of the best Sports arcs in all of sports anime and they’re just butchering this season’s adaptation!! I was so hype for this season but man I’m crushed and disappointed with how it’s been handled.

Most studios don't have in-house personal staff but contractors and it looks as if they are looking to churn out quantity rather than focusing on giving a series the attention it needs to be good.

Luckily after putting it off for two years I watched it last month and it was legitimately better than I could have ever hoped for with a staff that seemingly loved the source material as much as I did. Forever thankful that I have yet to have a series I love be given this treatment.

It wouldn't make any sense if it suddenly has good animation again, and the animation improvement, if any, would only happen at the start of the U20 match around episode 5 or 6. Now I'm not sure if it would be significantly better, just slightly better or just straight up the same. So you can temporarily stop watching it and wait for a couple of weeks to see if it will actually improves before making your decision to come back to watch the rest of the episodes or not. We went through Ninja Kamui and Uzumaki with them, so it couldn't get any worse. P.S. Hopefully this won't age badly 🤡

An animator who worked on ep2 actually talked about what happened with production, and how they literally left instead of continuing to work on eps 2-5 it was that bad behind the scenes. I agree with what Sheera said, they don’t get a pass for putting out subpar animation, but at the very least you can still enjoy watching it and be entertained by it. That’s the seasons saving grace imo.
