D'arby makes his appearance

Comments

Why you making us watch you guys oil up 😭😭😭

Kyle Hicks

Bro!! 😂😂 I was like yeeeeaaaahhhh??!!!

Thulani Mason

yeah its the only critical role i have willed myself to watch. they are way to long. I watch D20 with Brenan so I checked that out cuz he did it and its like 5 episodes

Gmac paddiewac

Glad Pike got a upgrade

JotaroDrake

These niggas can’t communicate for shit even when the constant lies blow up in they faces

JotaroDrake

3:15 yeahhhhhhhhhh?!😂😂

JotaroDrake

I had to play it back it really flew over my head that Roshi said I refilled it myself😂😂☠️

Tremaine

When I heard Xerxus, I forgot it was THAT Xerxus. It's been so long since I watched Critical Role's Vox Machina campaign I forgot that info during Calamity. There's too much lore lmao

aj

Got to see lupa oil in 4K for free🫣

CAM

“The one with the black skull on it”

ItsLargeDad

One of em

nerro91

makes sense. Devils in DND are Lawful Evil. they love contracts and will keep their word. i always depict them as lawyers lol

Ebronics

which card out of the five in your hand is the black skull?

Nathan Elkin

I swear if asmodeus ever shows up brennan HAS to voice him

Ougi

Seeing xerxus after watching calamity is soo crazy

Ougi

NO FUCKING WAAAAYY!!! Yall do not understand how serious this character reveal was.. Bro on god, we WILL see this man in a movie later on

Godrick

Stylistic upgrade doesn’t matter. They all get Vestiges lmao. They’re not just “fancy weapons”, they’re pretty much necessary for taking care of greater threats

Bria A.

Dee A R Bee Y DAARBY

Zay C.

Right? Imagine being an actual human with flaws. So unrealistic.

Ougi

I dunno how far into the campaign they are, but we're on season 3, and these people still keeping shit from each other. Wild.

ERRORCODE616

One thing to note: Pike serves the literal goddess of redemption. Unless it’s explicitly proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that someone can’t be saved, she’s always going to try to save whoever she can if they’re suffering. Add that to the fact that in D&D, clerics can lose their powers if they don’t follow their god’s principles…she was kinda boned either way with the ‘trying to heal the tortured soul’ thing. 😬

Bria A.

She doesn’t need one she already got a upgrade last season

Fizzy

EXU (Exandria Unlimited): Calamity. I would personally recommend the actual broadcast just for the atmosphere at the table, but audio version is cool for anyone who can’t sit down at a screen for that long

Bria A.

Based on the intro this season, the finale and ending credits should be epic considering what Zerxus is alluding to........

Camzero1

But you keep watching, dumb comment

Joker416

And this is why everyone hates devils. It’s not that they trap your soul in eternal damnation, it’s that they’re so smarmy about it.

Coatl45

They definitely merged the two. Demons would not be in the Hells, as they are from the Abyss. Devil just refers to any Fiend from Hell (even the shitty ones like imps).

Snifford the Big Red Hog

Demons and Devils are 2 different things in dnd. So It could of had some interesting dialog

KomoUpNorth

I forgot about her because of her getting that super power up last season. Percy lost his demon and only got his gun. He needs more

Davon Thomas

Lupa got eczema? Or was bro just ashy in the beginning

DJ Muldrow

I completely agree but in similar circumstances like this where the crew is literally in hell, the world is ending and there are bigger problems than their insecurities in at stake. Usually it isn't until after someone dies that the person who withheld the Intel reaches the conclusion they should've from the start. I could have done something but I didn't. I should have said something, but I didn't, if I did dead person would still be alive. Then their friends have to console them and say it wasn't your fault.

Jamaal Ellison

I mean, it's not exactly unrealistic. People withhold things because of insecurities and shit all the time

Anathem

Keyleth hasn't got one either

Anathem

I’m surprised she won tbh thought this was gonna be a save pike soul arch but they love leaving stuff for later like they did with Percy when he first showed us that demon. I wonder how long until we circle back to this? I suspect the everlight will not answer her soon when she needs to heal someone

Justin Spencer

"Yo what is up everybody we are BLACK with Vox Machina". Did I hear that right lmao?

TheMilkMan

I kinda wished Percy joined them in hell, seeing how he already came into contact with a demon, it would be interesting to see what the hell people thinks of him.

TheMilkMan

Vox Machina? Or Yaboyroshi? Either way, you're trippin

TheMilkMan

:(

Kraish

Lupa should try out voice acting his goood with impression

Norman kay10

Travis Willingham voicing a goofball beefcake is so enjoyable to hear. The silliness knows no bounds.

NovaVortex

this program is fkn ass bro corny af

H A Y D E N

Lupa and roshi rubbing on each other mid intro

KingKai _

"The kind of answer that would tell you where my card is."

KyleForged

Percy the last one without the vestige? He probably going to get the Cloak

Davon Thomas

took me like the entire episode to be like "oooooooooooooo sheeet its my boi Zerxus."

Gmac paddiewac

I can't stand the withholding vital information the group needs to know for unspecified reasons trope. Because as soon as the niggas that needed that info get killed. 🤷 Now the person who didn't speak up will roll up at their grave all pissy eyed trying to apologize.

Jamaal Ellison

took me the entire episode to realize who the devil was. If you ever need a solid podcast listen to Calamity i think its called. Its a critical role mini series with Brenan Lee Muligan as the DM not Matt Mercer and they tell the story of this devils fall and the others he talks about

Gmac paddiewac

It took me too long to remember he was from The Calamity lmao Really like how they're adapting everything this season, you can tell they took their time and put love into it. Can't wait for tomorrow and Thursday for the next three episodes releasing!

Nita - Kento's Widow

“What answer would you give me so that I’d be able to correctly choose the black card?” Anyone see any loopholes, or would he just lie and give up two cards?

PersonaFyde

Pike walking out of Hell with a new Holy Symbol seems kinda bad, maybe??

Com1xguy

Fr I cant even wait until tmwr

yahye

Next episode is Going to go crazy

yahye

Character development isn’t a linear thing. There will be times when the characters backslide and fall back into old habits, just like people do in real life. Writing where the characters fix all their faults in one go is the amateurish mistake, not the occasional backslide in stressful situations.

Coatl45

The Brass Ring Endures!

Ren

Who knew the crew took breaks inbetween the intro song cuts to help oil each other up, this the wholesome family content we deserve☺️

DsWorldd •

Episode 4 was good but I need that Episode 5 reaction ASAP!!!!! PEAKNESS!!!!

Jamie Edwards

just to clarify, Zerxus isn't THE devil, he is A devil. The term Devil basically refers to the stronger beings in the Hells. In D&D, there is a distinct difference between a Devil and a Demon, though there is a chance that this show might do away with that distinction for possible copyright reasons, too soon to tell. The god that Zerxus tried to redeem and is now enslaved to is Asmodeus, the Lord of the Hells

Anathem

The gods of the Heavens can’t reach into the Abyss, and vice versa. Otherwise, the war between the Celestial and Infernal gods would rage forever, with no end in sight. So either Everlight physically couldn’t reach Pike, or she couldn’t due to whatever ceasefire agreement is in place. Clerics of both sides, being mortal, can enter the opposition’s realm, but they’ll find themselves without their god’s support. Even if a cleric isn’t totally useless without their god supporting them, they’ll still be extremely handicapped and demoralized simply because they can’t sense their god, as we saw with all of Pike’s bad decisions this episode.

Coatl45

Important thing to remember Delilah brierwood one of the villains from the first season kept saying “we are his blood” When she was defeated she also said “The whispered One abandoned me”

StorySmith []

And trust devils even less.

Coatl45

Xerxes? He’s a devil. Kinda hard to tempt mortals when you’re ugly as sin. Demons are the ones who look like monsters. Devils are usually fallen angels or minor gods.

Coatl45

almost EVERY SINGLE reactor has made a Yu-Gi-Oh joke when the game first begins lmao

Anathem

Yeah it’s wild that we changes out who owned the Dawnmaryter plate to a cheracter from one of THEE most popular series that Critical Role ever made Especially since those Sesssions Exandria Unlimited:calamity isn’t that old. It came out fairly recent

StorySmith []

Going to echo the comments about anyone who enjoyed this watching EXU: Calamity. Critical Role, while fantastic, is SO MUCH content that it can be pretty hard to get into. Calamity on the other hand is just four episodes and set long before the events of any of the campaigns, and it is a truly awe-inspiring bit of storytelling if you are the kind of person who can get into actual-play DnD.

Beagle

If anyone is interested in more of Zerxus, please check out EXU: Calamity. Specifically, his interactions with Asmodeous performed by Brennan Lee Mulligan. I can't recommend it enough.

Gwyn

a question better directed at Luis Carazo

Anathem

love this show, feels like just pure unadulterated fantasy.

Luciaron

Lupa’s impersonation is actually crazy good XD

OneOfTheDrunks

There some animes right now who need to tuck they head the way this show is cooking (and lets be honest, has been cooking since the start).

DevilMayCarter

I looked up some of Critical Role's past gameplay streams and that same energy is portrayed in this show fr. they just always sound like their having so much fun voicing their respective characters.

Delinda Arts

Yeah We kind of got that Pike is needy as all hell. She doesn't really think for herself, she's either thinking what's best for her party or what the everlight wants. They've already gone through this plot point before in season 1 and kind lowers Mat Mercer's story telling cred to retread this again.

CornCobBob

"I refilled it myself" broooooo

Lulluf

Zerxusss

Thiago Silva

Why did they make him hot?

Simple Fan

So glad you guys liked this ep, I fricking loved it.

Sam

I know that you guys know nothing about the original DND series but just know that seeing Zerxus show up and give his backstory is such a great nod bringing all the campaigns together subtly.

AbenSur

Did Yenk shoot a Cero?

Owen Halloran

3:14 Roshi what? 😂😂😂😂

Frederick

Never trust a demon

Rei Zero

They really put Zerxus in here! (His character was introduced in a Campaign 3 side story that was a prequel) Cool too see them weaving in other stuff into the VM campaign!

pmreez

I mean she spends her whole life healing and helping the wounded and sees a suffering person in hell after her god was like “hell is full of sin, don’t fall!” She wants to help, but also she NEEDS to help to prove she’s still has god with her. Oops! The perfect trap.

Fobbles

Yehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Hasnain Khan

Roshi said sum yea I refilled it myself bro had that nigga Lupa terrified he looked at Roshi like minaahh tf you mean you refilled it yo self 💀💀💀

Boogie's Games

She was feeling lost and weak. Defaulted to the choice she thought the Everlight would want

genie

Episode was literally 🔥.

Kisuke01

Don't forget that alot of this is scripted around the actual DnD campaign that Critical Role played and alot of these actions are what the players chose to do and either succeeded a roll or failed a roll.

OMegaWattz

It's more dumb that they let anyone be alone in the middle of hell. The writers just wanted an action beat and didn't know how to do it.

Lurkingposter

Here we are again…. In HECK!

Fobbles

9:30 Yeah Pike dumb as shit for that. Let me use my light abilities in the middle of hell
