And he does use his real bankai when he gains it later only for Y to fk it up in a second. His real bankai is actually never shown in the manga, but it’s speculated that it’s an ability that allows him to cut fate or something. Regardless i thought his bankai form up until now is not even his bankai so

I know everyone wanted him to pop off but if you think about everything that's been said so far, if he really had the power everyone assumed he would have then none of this would have happened lol. He's just a battery to keep everything running and nothing more.

And to do that he needed to drain some of SK Yhwatch reiatsu which he is only able to do after Yhwach has absorbed the SK and with Orihime's help.

He was at a certain point in time millions of years ago and he was the strongest there was, his almighty was even better than Yhwach's. He was so powerful that the noble families feared him so they mutilated him and sealed him away. This was before the world of the soul society protecting people and hollows were just killing humans. The world had no order and Adyneus, the soul king was the only person strong enough to hold the realms and have order. This was also the time that ichibei was born and had helped. Adyneus's life and how he was is unknown but he was decribed as benevolent and very kind towards everyone. People started to fear him and that's how and why he is here now. If Adyneus was cognitive and at full power, he would have been able to stop Yhwach. As you can see he has no legs or arms so he can't do anything anymore.

And I think that's why Aizen was so pissed before he got sealed. His epic rant was directed towards the fact of this perceived "subservience" to "lessers". He thought he could do it better, and Yhwach feels the same. Personally, I wouldn't want neither one of those MFs in charge.

He said his vision is *only* second to the Soul King's, who , if you notice - has the same eyes as him. He said that the soul King's Almighty was so powerful that he could see thousands of years into the future. This implies Yhwach can't. It also gives a hint as to how his power works - apparently he can see into the future, which is OP in & of itself. The main issue is if he could see thousands of years into the future, he had to have known what would happen. This means he *wanted* Yhwach to strike him down. As for why? No clue. The end haikuu was spoken in what I presume was the Soul King's voice, so I think next week episode we will have some answers.

Because yes it was a trap that yhwach let ichigo pull out the sword and he should have found it sus that ywach was letting him do that. But at the same time, it's possible that yhwach wanted the sword to be stuck in the soul king as it will slowly kill him and he knew that by letting ichigo pull out the sword, ichigo will realise something is off and not pull it out, leading to the soul king's demise. No one except ywach knew which case is what actually hapens. No one except him knew that you needed to be a shinigami, quincy, human, fullbringer and hollow. Yhwach might have been using reverse psychology or he might not have because that is how powerful it is to be all-seeing and all-knowing. No one will be able to guess your true intentions because they don't know whether it's a trap or a bluff as you've already know what will happen.

This episode was great tho, alot of refferences, alot of stuff shown, like the vision with the soul king and juha bach, the crack ishida's dad was holding, the fight between ichigo and juha which mirrors the previous fight they had in cour 1 (an example is the eye poking juha tried on ichigo is the same ichigo tried to do to him back in like ep 5). Even the Soul King's name drop here is brand new info, so was the fight against Yhwach with Ichigo, etc. Lots of new material is apparently part of this cour (as it should be), which is the best-case scenario. In terms of Soul King info, we already know some stuff from the Can't Fear Your Own World light novel like what Ichibei was talking about re: "that's what peace is all about". Basically in terms of Soul King info that is relevant to this episode but not crazy spoilery, the Soul King had The Almighty but his is stronger than Yhwach's (hence the 4 pupils vs 3 pupils). It's suggested in this episode that he saw everything that happened throughout Yhwach's life including the fate of the Quincies and even his own death but chose to let it happen, which the Quincies resent. Even people who read all the LNs don't know why Adyneus let himself be locked up like that by the Soul Reapers despite being powerful enough to stop them. Still a mystery that maybe the anime will explain with a flashback.

He has made multiple references to the Soul King suffering humiliation, being used, being a sacrifice. Not to mention that the guys limbs were cut off and Osho actually had one of them to give away to Ywabababa in the last cour. It seems like Squad Zero could have actually been the ones orchestrating everything, or more specifically Osho. Afterall, it makes no sense for someone who is the strongest in the verse and could see the future to need to be kept in a crystal to be kept safe. I’m guessing that he was betrayed by Osho, and then put in that crystal to trap him there. To maintain a new status quo.

His dead body was used as a pillar to withhold the bleach cosmology, since he’s the one who created everything from the ocean, the Zanpakto we saw at the beginning was the very first Zanpakto ever and it’s Soul Kings zanpakto. However after he created the cosmology, it needed something strong enough to withhold it. The Soul King sacrificed himself for the cosmology and his dead body hangs there to stop the universes from ceasing to exist.

He says he wants to end the “humiliation.” I’m 99% sure the Soul King is not sitting inside of a crystal with no limbs of his own free will. He’s just being used as a battery to stabilize the worlds imo

He said it called out to his quincy blood, so when he went for the sword and grabbed it he did so out of primal response. He tried to resist it once he had the sword, but with direct contact with the sword, Yhwach could control Ichigo enough to kill the Soul King.

So he couldn’t stop Yhwach from killing him. The interesting thing is that the soul king ultimately foresaw all this himself. He knew he’d become a puppet in the crystal, like Yhwach said he knew the quincies would be nearly wiped out. And he knew that Yhwach would kill him eventually. He could have stopped it but chose not to

We as the viewer knows for certain that Yhwach has precognition, but from Ichigo's perspective it could be any manner of trick, or ability - he has no reason to trust him, especially when previous foes like Gin have straight up lied about the nature of their abilities .

Now granted the arc isn’t over yet so the plot must thicken. After all these years, We finally get the official name of the Soul King: Adnyeus (or as it should be spelled, Adonaeus) is an archon of Gnosticism as Gnostic mythology representing the Sun and responsible for keeping mortal souls bound to Earth. So Here’s the Lore breakdown: The Soul King is a natural amalgamation of everything, the only other one like that is Ichigo which is why he’s the only one who can kill him and why Aizen wanted him to fully mature as the main puzzle piece of his plans. Aside from that, Now Back in Ep 25 as part of the finale of cour 2 last year, Yhwach did an incantation chant known as the Auswählen (German for Selection) and goes as follows- “Raise Them! Silver emblems, Ashen meadows, circular path buried in light. Eye of Agate, tongue of gold, skullcap, coffin of Adnyeus. The object we raise is your heart.” Casually saying “Coffin of Adnyeus” which would be the Coffin of the Sun (more specifically in the crystal structure that he’s trapped in) trapping away light the same way Yhwach traps power, burying and sealing away light, and when Yhwach opens it and takes forth the heart of the Sun (which the ball in his hands resembles, in the sense that it appears like a singularity or neutron star), he then uses it’s powers over light and souls, which is exactly what the Auswählen is: Beams of light that snatch souls/the power of souls from still living bodies and move them somewhere else. He also mentioned other specific terms like “Eye of Agate” which is a particular type of Agate (quartz like mineral) that has a circular banding pattern when cut in a cross section, This could be a reference to the circular band shape the Auswhalen makes before it's activated. 'Silver emblems' could be referring to the quincies, because they always use silver emblems, such as their crosses and medallions. 'tongue of gold' refers to the ancient Egyptian practice of giving the dead amulets of gold shaped like tongues so that they could speak in the court of Osiris in the afterlife. Oriris was the judge of the dead, so perhaps this line has to do with the user of Auswählen judging who will have their life taken and who will be spared. 'Skull cup' could be referring to the use of a skull cup in Hindu & Buddhist rituals, including ones to achieve a transcendental state of mind in the shortest time possible. Basically referring to Auswählen allowing power to be given and quickly 'enlighten' or empower the receivers. 'Ashen meadows' refers to Hueco Mundo/hollows because it mostly consists of endless dunes/meadows of ashen sand. This would leave Humans/Shinigami or the Living World/Soul Society to be referenced by 'Circular path buried in light' if the pattern holds, also refrring to the circular light of the Auswählen itself. It’s the job of the soul reapers being balancers and Gnostic Archons of their universe, keeping and overseeing souls bound to the endless cycle of life, death, and rebirth as the 3 cycles represented in these 3 realms. In the beginning of the episode, he uses a sacrificial technique known as ‘Triplet World’ (universe realms in this case) separating the 3 main realms, in front of a young Yhwach in this chaotic but apparently calm primordial cosmic ocean or celestial river of when the universe was one. Yhwach simply wants to return everything to that status quo for further reasons yet to be revealed, for now it’s that he feels ashamed/embarrassed for the seemingly lifeless comatose state that his father the Soul King is in, being used as a mere Keystone stabilizer and the Quinces getting the short end of the stick throughout history.

2024-10-14 21:33:46 +0000 UTCThe beginning YWACH scene is a NEW scene, and my interpretation of it, is that YWACH was around in the first world before the soul king split it into the Human, Hollow (Hueco Mundo), and Spirit worlds (the three whirlpools). Ywach sees the Soul King as a 'Sacrifice' he says, this probably means he hates the decision on splitting the worlds. This is probably because the soul King by doing this created the ability to 'die' which is suffering. By returning the 3 worlds to one, life and death would be the same, and suffering ends, but so does what exists currently IN the 3 worlds. Hmmmmm.

Saying yu ha ba ha with an American accent just sounds weird xD. His name is German-ish, and is a play on YHWH, the Hebrew name for God (no vowels in written Hebrew, so it's just those consonants)

So expect at least this consistent quality animation for just about every episode going forward. They had to show out for the rematch that’s not even the final battle between the MC and main villain which is an almost completely anime original fight. A high priority one would be similar to Ep 6 or greater, where everything is fluidly on model. Still an amazing first impressions episode, especially with the new camera angles.
