Similar situation with the one eyed monster that attack them back in season 2 where vax got his armor That creature is supposed to be a beholder but beholders are a unique creation of wizards of the coast hence protected by copyright so they had to do a work around Jamon is a similar as I am pretty sure what they are is specific enough that I believe they are also under copyright protection

So I have to wonder if we are done with jamon now Cuz how do you get them to leave their own continent to go to your for a while without it being an ass pull other wise.

There is so much more to their cheracter and they play a much bigger roll in this story But I’m not sure how much I can say cuz it’s not impossible for them to show up again. On the flip side now that critical role is a company now these changes may be due to trying to avoid D&D copyright

2024-10-09 01:50:23 +0000 UTCI like the hints they dropping for their other campaigns (Mighty Nein which is confirmed to also get animated is set 30 years or so after the events of Vox Machina with a whole new set of characters, that song the doctor played as a solo is a reference to an NPC that appears in that campaign. Also the Red Moon in the intro plays a big part in campaign 3 which is the current game they're running rn) Scanlan's "Objection" was a reference to Phoenix Wright cuz Scanlan's voice actor also voiced Phoenix Wright!

These voice actors came up with a character for fun, and played a game where they had to make decisions the best they could AS these characters. Dice rolls can lead to outcomes nobody expected, not even the characters lives are garunteed, random shit can just happen.. like percy shooting that rando in the street last episode, or last seaason when Vax was killed by a random box so the DM can force the partys weakest character to take an upgrade
