You kinda right on that. I'm black and Chinese and can attest to my dad getting confused at mah mom's food culture all the time. Even to him getting freaked out eating frogs (which shouldn't be scary. It's the most boring tasting chicken ever. Frogs). What's funny is I grew up in KTown and my dad felt more at home in Korean Culture than my mom's Chinese stuff. Koreans got Malt Liquor, Fried Chicken, Potato Salad, R&B, Christianity and singing loud at Church? Plus living in KTown allowed my pastor dad extra employment gigs. My dad was confused as to "why are these the blackest Asians here?" (Real life story is Koreans were influenced by Black culture due to relating during the Korean war. Through being oppressed by the Japanese, coming from behind, and most of the US soldiers during the Korean War being black). One time after Korean Church, by dad was like "how do y'all somehow have Chitlin's?!".

Judging from the information I have so far. After watching Nanno fuck with people for whatever reason good bad or indifferent for mad episodes, I'm just assuming Nanno fucked around with the wrong one regarding Yuri's case. I think it would be interesting to see Nanno on the Backfoot for a while.

Hopefully they got Hainanese Chicken Rice places where they live. A lot of Canto places sell it to but it's best to get it from either a Thai or Hainan place that only sells that (Teochew's version is great too, but that's tough to find unless you're in places like LA or Flushing)

Definitely. I think a lot of black people are too used to using powdered seasonings. Asian cuisine rarely directly has seasoning on the meat. All the flavor is from the quality of the meat, a marinade, or from seasoned sauces and broths. It's great for cutting back on sodium and that's why Asian people are perceived to be healthier and live longer.

Yo! That chicken rice be slappin. it's actually really good. It's one of the main dishes from my mom's village in China. First they boil chicken to make chicken soup (all the seasoning, aromatics, and ginger needed). Then they chop up the chicken and use the broth and broth fat for the light and spicy dipping sauces (dark soy needed for the spicy one). THEN instead of using hot water, they pour a few cups of the chicken soup in a rice cooker, add garlic and ginger, and use the soup to boil the rice. What's fun is the whole dish is made with the same chicken soup base used 5 different ways. My mom taught me to add shaoshing wine and a pinch of nouc mam in for more flavor and umami. I loved growing up Black and Chinese because I got to learn double the cultures of a lot of things, like food.
