swear to god im winging this so idk if it makes sense but it does to me the murder suicide or double suicide was a husband and wife, aqua and rubys dad must have slept with the mom and had a son, who is now their half brother, the father found out and did what he did to end them both......and then the dude the mom slept with ended up with their Ai and had ruby and aqua i think the half brother is related through their mutual dad, who is a totally different guy then who he thinks his dad was.....idk if that made sense but i think im on the right path lol Aqua is thinking his dad is dead, because he assumed the dad was the factor making him and that other guy siblings, when really it was homies mom that slept around and the dad killed himself and her when he found out........his new half brother has the same dad, but its not the dad he was always told was his father, that guy just helped raise you and got cheated on.....atleast i think idk if i'm right or wrong so if you just want to confirm or deny that....please add spoiler before your response, idc if you spoil me, i think im right......but im genuinely guessing and don't want people who come through later to be spoiled if they weren't asking for it

The animation starts off with Taiki, his parents, and Ai giving a sort of image to what Aqua believes to be the story. Then the tadpole figure (Hikaru) shows up causing Aqua's telling of events to completely fall apart.

His actual father had an affair with the mom and then the fake dad found out and caused the murder suicide. We believe his actual father is the man who just showed up at the end who is confirmed to be Aqua and Ruby father.

Then once the Uehara (Taiki's *supposed* father) found out about it, it escalated to* the murder suicide. That's the only thing that makes sense to me atm.

Instead of Himekawa's Dad cheating on his wife with Ai like Aqua assumed, Himekawa's Mom actually cheated on her husband with the Twins' Dad. The animation of Akane's thoughts at 18:56 could have included another male figure standing to the left with Himekawa and his mom but not holding hands, as the male figure in the center is the Twins' Dad. That would've made it more clear. Again this isn't really a spoiler as the story expects you to deduce this on your own but I'm hiding it in case anyone wanted to work it out for themselves.

Or not, maybe they intentionally didn't want to spell it out just yet, though I wouldn't understand why. The last scene confirms that yes, Ruby and Aqua's dad is still alive, and from here on out they don't strictly detail what happened with the half-brother's family because it's fairly self-explanatory.
