If he really did just fly by using imagination, that old man needs to go and watch some sci-fi movies or anime with cyborgs and shit to come up with ideas of what he might be able to do. But it seems like the classic super ultra villain that gets an anti-climatic resolution (cliche anime speech/slap on a wrist/hugs him so he can see the humanity side). It happens a lot. Gonna go off on a little nerd thing here but I love the way Hiroya Oku (author of Inuyashiki, Gantz, etc.) displays both sides of humanity. He really loves showing off the despair and the depravity of humans but then he always juxtaposes it with the good qualities that humans can have. Inuyashiki is good but if y’all wanna y’all should totally read gantz. Gantz has like 1 single anime, a CGI movie, and like 3 live action ones. They’re all decent but you’re better off reading it.

I'm so glad you guys are reacting to this. I remember watching this show a while back and as soon as I finished, I went to look for reactors and there were barely any reactors who watched it. Like Roshi said, peak. Shishigami literally makes no sense though, dude can do literally anything but just decided to kill people for no reason. In fact, if he wanted to kill people so bad, why not do it in another country so that there is a for sure chance he wouldn't get caught? Like, he can fly to another country and fly back. Dumbass.

Please go easy on my boy Inuyashiki, the guy is still in the mental state of a terminally ill person. And another thing is I think you guys severely overlook Ichirō's acts of heroism Episode 1 - accidentally uses his super hearing and couldn't stand and listen to a homeless man potentially losing his life, so he rushes over to help. Episode 2 - Same thing accidentally hears someone begging for their life, so gets in his car like the old man he is not knowing his capabilities, still trying to the best of his abilities. Episode 3 - Tries to help a dying cat, saves it successfully which led him to figure out he can Fucking heal, and the first thing he does is walk to the nearest hospital, hes basically Superman.

100% this. Shishigami lacks any empathy towards anyone other than family or friends and so views everyone the same way you would a character in a video game. It's pretty basic sociopathy. Heck, even outside mental health conditions like sociopathy, tons of people have no love for people outside of the groups they care about. You give a nazi these kinda powers and they 100% go after whatever racial groups they hate. You give certain kinds of politically radical individuals these powers and they'd go after tons of politicians. The show makes a very strong point about the sheer power that positive social bonds have, and how violent and awful we can be without them.

The thing that really got me is that Ichiro realized he had the power to heal and IMMEDIATELY went to a hospital to save people. He's trying to lay low and not attract too much attention, but he realized right away the good he could do with those powers. This anime does a fantastic job of showing the two main characters' thought processes. Hiro's metrics for power are how good he is at killing things, how far and how accurately he can shoot, what he can take from people, etc. Ichiro measures his success in how many lives he can save and how much he can help people.
