I liked the council apologizing to Hori. A recurring theme in this show is conflict resolving and relationships actually returning to a normal baseline rather than being dragged out. People in real life don't become huge antagonistic forces, sometimes you make a mistake and it gets fixed and life moves on; Horimiya is really good because most of the characters are actually believable for their age and maturity level. They're just kinda... "normal"

And the cool part is even when there are serious/sad types of things like some stuff with how Miyamura was bullied, it's handled in a pretty unique way that's not depressing or melodramatic like a lot of other shows. Not that doing that is bad, it's just refreshing to see something different and light-hearted.

Bullying is a form of intimidation based on threats or implied harm. A popular person asking someone to do things and them agreeing to because that person is popular isn't bullying. He exploits her but he's not bullying her. Likewise, you aren't being 'bullied' by your boss if he requests you to do some additional work and you agree, no matter how much sleep it costs you. If he actually took steps to ostracize her or implied he would if she refused, it'd be a form of bullying, but a vague worry over potentially disappointing someone with a higher social standing isn't.

A minority of people seem peeved by their reaction to the Sengoku scene. I definitely think their initial reaction to the bullshit that was happening was fully acceptable. I've watched several reactions to this series, and many did not like her or Sengoku at all in the beginning, which is reasonable. Personally, the pink-haired girl was too cute for me to even hate on even in the beginning but thinking about it objectively without any bias it was a pretty 'messed up' - for lack of a better word or phrase - scenario. But, if you're upset at the after discussion of them talking about the scene, then their usage of the term "bullying" doesn't have to be taken overly seriously, people seem to be overreacting to their usage of the word bully. But when people say words, you have to understand humans end up using words as a generalization and aren't using the exact dictionary definitions of the word, plus 'bullying' has many different subgenres. People seem to be thinking as if bullying only means doing something so atrociously villainous it'd drive a person to suicide, but it doesn't have to be that extreme. Bullying can be a vague word. Being taken advantage of is seen as a form of bullying, while others don't agree, it's definitely a way that some people use the word. Anyways, I loved their passion watching that scene, and it's not a bad thing when reactors... you know, react. It shows genuine interests in the scene taking place. It's a good thing.

Yeah that's a good point because the only instances I can think of where we use last names in a formal way is in sports and certain meetings but even in the West when you have a casual meeting/encounter with someone you would still use their first name

I like this show because Miyamura defends Hori and it’s great, but the real romantic development is the little realizations. First, I like seeing a side of you that other people don’t get to see, and now, I would be very sad if you stopped coming around. Other romcoms do this too, but it’s understated and well executed in this show. Also, you know nothing about Hori’s issues yet. lol!

For me intentions matter when it comes to bullying, the typical school bully who goes out of their way to hurt people physically or verbally has those intentions behind their actions which makes them a bully. Sengoku isn't trying to cause harm to Hori, he just knows she's more likely to get the job down. Hori is putting all of that work on herself by not telling him she's not able to do it or she doesn't have time to do it, if she actually explained that then there's a good chance Sengoku wouldn't go to her that often.

I don't agree with how you guys are categorizing what Sengoku was doing to Hori as bullying, he definitely took advantage of Hori because of how she treated him before but he wasn't forcing her to do his girlfriend's work, she could've said no at any point. Plus he owned up to his mistake and apologized to Hori along with his girlfriend.
