2024-09-03 17:49:42 +0000 UTCJust a few points: - I never read the manga, but from the way the old gnome was treating Kaka and Kiki better than anybody else and seemingly favoriting them, I came to the conclusion that they must have been adopted by him, or they must be somehow relatives to him. - I thought the way their names sound, "Kaka" and "Kiki", to be equally as intriguing because we never saw characters with names as cartoony-sounding in this universe, so I came to the conclusion that he must have named them himself, either by adopting them as children or as pets. It sounds either like the old gnome couldn't come up with better names because he's not good at dealing with human names; or he simply has no respect for humans in general so he just named them like pets (Notice how every race in this universe seems to have a discriminatory prejudice against other races). - (NOT A SPOILER) Like I said, I never read the manga, but I've read comments by manga readers confirming my hunch. Kaka and Kiki were apparently adopted by the two old gnomes. And it is not a spoiler because it is apparently briefly explained in a short bonus commentary between chapters like trivia, but never explicited in the main story. - I noticed some people thought "Kaka" was insulting for a black man because it sounded to them like "caca" (poop), but even if it was allegedly supposed to sound weird in the context of the story, I think it's ironically not that weird of a name. I mean, everybody must remember footballer Ricardo Kaká, right? - I don't know if you understood, but in this universe the word "tall-man" simply means "human". But since they register all the other races within the human species, they use the term "tall-man" for us.

2024-08-17 00:59:50 +0000 UTCSince the anime doesnt say this, in one of the mangas extras, its stated that the revival spell uses up a lot of calories(fat) in the deceased persons body, which is why food is so important. it even shows that adventurers bulk up before going into the dungeons meaning that skinny people in the dungeon are people who usually die the most. if you pay close enough attention to the party that kept dying you can actually see the main guy getting a little skinnier every time he dies and is revived.

To delve into the dungeon, mages are necessary, and if they don’t have mana, they’re useless. We just saw how difficult it was for Marcille to regain her mana. If they go around rezing everyone they find, they’ll run out of mana real quick, so it became standard practice to compensate the healers for the profits they are losing out on. Doctors can’t run hospitals for free, right?

All they have is whatever was on their person when they teleported. Senshi is the only one who has all his stuff. Everyone else is just doing their best to get by.

Wouldn't be in senshi's character to endanger his party like that.

You'd think people would resurrect and heal others out of the kindness of their heart when someone is in dire need. Nope. 2024-08-16 18:13:33 +0000 UTCThe reason Laios' party doesn't have any MP items or healing items is because in episode 1, Falin teleported them to the surface to escape the dragon but all of their gear got left behind. They had no money left and had to immediately dive back into the dungeon in order to try and resurrect Falin before the dragon finished digesting her. That is why they are eating monsters because they had no money to buy food/rations to take into the dungeon and they couldnt stop to take a job and make any money before going back in or Falin would be lost forever because it would take too long.

They have no money to restock items, and they have no time to just farm monsters for parts to sell for money, because they’re trying to get to where Falin got eaten in time to rescue her.

2024-08-16 18:03:58 +0000 UTCFun Fact about Kiki and Kaka! Their names, at first glance, are kinda... weird. But there's actually some logical reasoning behind it! In an RPG, when generating towns you often get random names generated for the NPCs. They aren't meant to be of importance, so it's kept as bland as possible. We don't see much of their backstory, but Kiki and Kaka were orphans who were adopted by the two gnomes they travel with. They faced a lot of racism in regards to being tall-men who lived in gnome society (they were noticably taller than gnome kids when they themselves were children, and thus were ostracized and treated like adults). Kiki and Kaka are quite literally Background Character's A and B. They don't have much importance to the plot, and mostly kinda just exist to be there. Their names, when translated, seem to just reflect the sound of laughter, so it could be seen as them being "joyous" or "happy", but in reality they really are basic names for NPCs. Someone else made a really in depth analysis about it, but I'm not too sure where it is atm.
