Trigun Stampede Ep 12

EPIC finale!

Comments

i personally think that caring about something and something being a motivator are two separate concepts ! at least in my point of view, you have to respect something to really and truly care about it, and nai does not respect the plants or vash. if he did, he wouldn't have forcibly mindwiped vash, or used him to impregnate the other plants against their will. basically! if you truly care about someone, you aren't trying to turn them into something they aren't so they'll do what you want them to do, but that was quite literally nai's whole plan from start to finish. it's ironic, but the humans in the show repeatedly show vash more consideration than that, nobody but nai has that much disregard to vash's personhood.

sola

A dream to see you guys react to trigun, so the only dream left I have is Kengan ashura!!!!!

Tati Murdock

Nai 100% cares about Vash and the plants. They were his whole motivation to do everything he did.

R Blass

What’s wrong with their take? No one said what Nai did to Vash was good. All they said was that Nai’s reasoning for doing what he’s doing can be empathized with and understood. Vash had no solutions to offer the problem. He literally said he would keep running until he could just quietly settle by the humans side again… Like, what? Vash is so idealistic but he’s actually not helping anyone.

Eli Kisamo

Yeah, knowing that Roshi likes the smoke and often sides with the villains and their way of thinking, it was not surprising. But they definitely seemed not okay with Million Knives brainwashing his brother into being something he's not, they just didn't find fault with Million Knives' hate for humans.

The Zany Spirit

When they were on the ship, sure. However, that point is long gone and Vash didn't know he had powers like Nai up until the last two episodes, nor did anyone except the people in Nai's close circle. Everyone calls Vash the stampede because they think he's the one responsible for the towns being destroyed and lives being ended when it's really Nai doing it all. Nai keeps framing Vash for all of the destruction he causes leaving people to naturally think it's Vash since they have no info that it isn't.

Matthew Tigue

If Nai’s plan had worked then all the human ships would be gone so it’d just be him and vash taking care of all the plants. I also think it’s a bit of both humans not understanding and Nai’s treachery that vash is hated in the first place. Cause even on the ship rem told them not to use their powers because there would be problems.

Malaika

I would like to add that Nai pretty much doomed the Plants to this fate in the first place by trying to eradicate all of the ships. Setting humans back and forcing them to overuse the Plants to such a degree to survive. I highly doubt that the plants would be as abused as they are now if Nai didn't try to commit genocide. Also, isn't Vash known as the Stampede because of Nai in the first place? He's following Vash to every town, fucking shit up with his modified humans, taking Plants, and destroying towns, and then leaving Vash to take the fall. His life on this planet is miserable mostly because of all that Nai has done to him.

Matthew Tigue

nai loves a version of his brother that does not exist and spending 100+ years trying to mold vash into being person he is not is Bad

Mrlanie

love the channel, love the show, but held off on watching the finale because I knew the crew’s take… would not be it 😔

Mrlanie

I'm late but in case anyone else missed it along with the trio, the one saying "Stop it, you'll die" isn't Nai, it's Vash. Vash is telling Nai to let go of him and the gamecube so it doesn't kill them both. Also, I'm pretty sure the piece Eriks is trying to play at the piano is the one we hear Nai playing the whole show, for an added layer of sadness. Vash didn't want anyone to die, including Nai. Lowkey I don't even think Nai really cares about the plants. Maybe its the manga influence, but this whole thing with the forcible IVF screams that he doesn't care about them, or at least their wishes. It seems to me like he just wants his happy paradise without humans, and whatever happens to the rest of the plants and Vash just happens.

Season 2 set for 2025! Trigun Stargaze

EwokBoy

Trigun Stampede is a reimagining of Trigun, the original and by that I mean the manga. At the time that the '98 anime was made, there was out like only 20-ish chapters from the whole story that spans around 100+ chapters, meaning the old anime adaptation is a thing that stands by itself, it's a poor watered-down version of the whole plot that has their own characterizations for characters etc. While Trigun Stampede, even though it doesn't go 1:1 with the manga and it's also its own thing, it takes inspiration from the WHOLE manga. The manga is finished for a long time now and they have it at their hands, they're able to more accurately capture the core of the story even with giving some plot points and other things their own twist. As a huge fan of the manga (and honestly disliker of the '98 adaptation, although it is still entertaining enough), I'm so proud of studio Orange. They did Trigun justice and I can't wait for the continuation in a form of Trigun Stargaze! 💥💥💯

Ronn D

please consider kekkai sensen! its by the same author and just as hectic and fun to watch!

TheBestPlays

Two brothers fighting over who gets to use the gamecube, sad it came to that, smh Nai was a lit character, Dr Umar would be proud of bro

A. P.

Do yall plan on watching the OG show??

Kreative

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FROM THE OG SHOW Its somewhat of a prequel. I thought so too when I originally watched it. But in the main show, Stryfe doesnt know who Vash is. So its like a retelling that includes what happened to Julai. In the main show we learn what happened to July and that Vash was a plant at the very end of the show.

Kreative

It's a prequel. In the original, Vash had already blown up Julai and Meryl was already an insurance agent. Season 2 will tell the rest of the og story.

Ghost_Troupe

Nah, he's a hypocrite. Nai was doing much worse to humans than any of the humans were doing to plants. In reality, humans and plants need each other to survive.

Ghost_Troupe

Vash's argument made sense. Nai was blaming all of humanity for something only a few humans did, the same way Vash was being blamed for what Nai did. Vash was able to empathize with humans for that reason. Also, Nai was being a hypocrite.

Ghost_Troupe

I love how it said "Episode 0" after the time skip. So this was all just a prequel. They even mentioned Milly and Meryl joining the insurance society. Just had to let them cook I guess.

Ghost_Troupe

Such a good show. Happy they watched Trigun.

Raider

Have yall seen Golden Boy old school anime had me rollin

PayTheRent

Shangri la Frontier anytime soon? PLS

Eats

They brought Milly back. This show is redeemed in my eyes. XD Best girl. But seriously. Really good show.

Mr. Glasses

yo that'd actually be peak

Steve

If they react to it I’d lose my mind.

Temi Roberts

Ya'll said ya'll was really vibing with the CG here, so I implore you to go ahead and watch Land of the Lustrous by Studio Orange as well! I think ya'll would truly enjoy it!

Lea Garrido

Peak

Marlen Mendez

I haven’t been able to catch up for a while, but we back! So. Happy belated birthday, Sheera! And no, Stampede is not a direct prequel. It’s a standalone remake, because the manga was unfinished at the time of the OG anime so the showrunners put emphasis on comedy and a monster of the week-type format. The ‘98 anime is more of a Trigun Maximum adaptation if I’m not mistaken.

Bria A.

such a good show!! hope u guys react to season 2, stargaze, when it comes out

eden

I strongly recommend watching World Trigger next!

Lola

W show ! Love living vash story again , they did their shit with this

Kinny Larsoking

if you guys liked tri gun you should watch kekkai sensei/blood blockade battlefront its by the same author and i personelly think its even better.

bobo

land of the lustrious is incredible studio orange made it too

zoltar

So excited for season 2!! Happy you guys enjoyed it :D If you're wanting more Trigun I reckon give the BadLands Rumble movie a shot! It's a one-off story meant to be set in between episodes 10-12 of the OG anime, so it retains all of the original character designs and has sliiightly different characterizations, super enjoyable movie imo!

naumi

It’ll most likely be chapter 1 of Maximum if you’ve seen that. The setup with Erik’s leads me to believe that

HAKII

It’s somewhat of a retelling prequel. Like the last scene of Erik’s is pretty much the lead up to Trigun Maximum chapter 1. I can see how they’re gonna do that. I’m curious to the rest of the story tho.

HAKII

Definitely did surpass the og version all I wanna say in the discussion everything in life isn’t black and white which is the side characters and they opinion on things shows you that which leave you like idk who side to be on really it’s feel like the show challenges your own beliefs in what would you do to me vash spent the most time with the humans so he seen the good and the bad but still have hope that they can live in peace the plants and humans together it’s almost like the Bible in a way . Aye still a great episode.

Jonathan Sessoms

Watch Land of the Lustrous by Studio Orange

Laundry

He might not actually be dead. If you've read the manga you might know how he could come back.

Peach

Excited for season 2 and how best girl, Milly Thompson, will look like. I just hope we can see Vash engage in more combat, like maybe he will face off against the Gung-Ho Gang.

Brandon Acevedo

I think they said they've seen outlaw star but it's probably been over 20 something years so revisiting the classics that don't have too long a run time sounds like fun.

Isaac

I dont think its a prequel unless they explain how Nai is still alive in the old show but dies in this one.

Pan Cakes

I can't get behind Nai wanting to wipe out the entire human race. There are so many innocent people who would die. However, I understand his argument and I did feel really bad for him. His character was done very well in my opinion. I got emotional watching that fight scene. Just like Nai's thinking was flawed, so is Vash's. I can't wait to get Season 2!

WorldWideLove2000

Yeah I'd love to see them check out more classics like outlaw star since they've already watched cowboy bebop or even the yu yu Hakusho dub

Jaelyn Mcgee

Something I really liked this episode is Knives pointing out how Vash's argument was naive. I love the OG and the manga, it'll be interesting to see how they go about next season. Really excited for Stargaze!

morelia

I add to this, absolutely love lustrous, even got a tattoo for it

GigaDirt

yeah, i need them to watch it. its weirdly highly praised while also being underrated

Sincerely, the Best.

facts, LOTL a certified banger

Dantene

you guys def have to give land of the lustrous a chance now too. its made by studio orange too, the show has great action and plot

Sincerely, the Best.

That's exactly the point :]! Neither Vash or Knives are correct. Both ideals are flawed entirely, you aren't supposed to believe either. That's why characters like Wolfwood and Meryl are the more realistic in the show: They're way of thinking is more human. Not everything is Black and White. There will be bad people, there will be good people. That's Humanity :)!

Ashes2Ash

I’m glad y’all had as much fun as I did when watching the show!!!

soyu

Ahhh we made it to the finale!! The action scenes this episode went crazy fr, I religiously rewatch it lol. From what I know, trigun stampede is just a remake of the og trigun, so Milly Thompson (girl with long hair) is more like a nod to the og trigun (I don’t think it’s a prequel or anything)

soyu

Vash simply can't bring himself to give up on the people he's already seen the good in. He'd rather just be a peaceful observer and try to let humanity become better than than destroy them. It's an interesting philosophical difference where Vash sees humans as misguided but ultimately good and worthy of being given a chance, while Nai sees them as inherently evil and not worth keeping around.

Beagle

This is not a prequel to the OG series, due to the OG series coming out way too early in the mangas life. All 3 versions of Trigun have their own narratives, though despite that this is still a prequel season for this version and the manga. All of them are in good in their own ways, but I still feel this is the best of them so far. I hope S2 E1 is a clone of an episode from the OG though😅

Anon7524

Okay I see what you mean. I think at some point I might have projected my OWN ideals onto Nai’s. And in the process overlooked his more heinous acts. I’m glad I had this discussion with all y’all fr. I still think I agree with the fact that on the planet they’re on Nai’s thinking wasn’t entirely in the wrong the same way vash isn’t entirely in the wrong.

Malaika

OG Trigun & Movie? please!

Raider

I can agree with that. But what do you mean by Ecoterroristic? I might just google it. Hold up

Malaika

Also gonna be real here: Most of the "Evil Humans" are scientists and "military". The Innocent people are just the everyday people, like those of Jenora Rock. Most people don't even know Plants are sentient or even real living things; They think theyre just power sources. The way you're thinking feels very ecoterroristical and is NOT a good way of thinking, my friend. Knives is VERY MUCH not in the right, considering he's also sacrificing Plants to give birth to more independents. He's hypocritical, using them and Vash to "get what he wants", even if that means Vash no longer being alive/sentient.

Ashes2Ash

Mmm okay

Malaika

A 10/10 season. Absolutely loved this show and I can’t wait for season two and I do think with how they’re adapting this new iteration that they are going to be delving deeper into the fact that Vash’s beliefs are very naive and have him realize that or at least I hope they do

Nick Vaughn

I completely missed that independent part then. That’s my bad. HOWEVER still the humans on earth are the only ones who’ve figured out how to coexist.

Malaika

Slight correction: Tesla is NOT Knives and Vash's mother. She's just another Independent. It'd be more accurate to call her their sister. Vash and Knives Plant "Mother" likely died during their birth.

Ashes2Ash

WDYM "who will kill off his kind"? We literally see from the post-credits scene that the ppl who remained on Earth are working just fine w/ Independents (as we can see w/ them name-dropping spec ops Lt. Colonel Independent Chronica), so I presume they somehow did manage to prevent the point of no return at some point after Project SEEDS was launched (giving a timeline of some 350 years from Project SEEDS launch to 150 years post-crash), so the project was kinda a useless thingie since they managed to fix the climate collapse at some point inside that 350 year range, as well as developing warp drive tech (likely because Earth seems to have Independents as well. IDK if this was actually a "known" secret among specialists even back on Earth or if they started to spawn after the project was blasted off, it rly doesn't help that they did the dissection experiments on Tesla either, which to me seems to imply that even the Sinners on board the colony ships (including Head Sinner Conrad himself, obviously. Granted I doubt he's the #1 Sinner dude, just the dude in charge of the Sinners (Plant Molecular Scientists) injected into the Project SEEDS, presumably mainly for Plant maintenance purposes?) didn't know about the Independents until one was generated mid-transit 150 years into the cold sleep journey)

Skebaba

If you want more studio orange watch Land of the Lustrous!

Ronnie

Bro, how you gon let yo fam put his whole dick through your pocket 😂

NovaVortex

So are they gonna watch the OG show or are we done? Kinda want to see the gang go back in time, watch the OG show for the sake of classic anime and see how fun that'll be. Dunno if the comments have beem vocal on that or not.

Isaac

Would love to see their reactions!!! One of my favorite anime to rewatch, and they do have the same mangaka so seeing as they enjoyed Trigun I think they'll like BBB ^^

Phantom Days

From Nais perspective it’s not dumb. His mother was torn apart and kept in tubes. His adoptive mother knew about it and kept it a secret. Then told him to never show his powers because they’d stick his ass in a tube too. And is every human really innocent when they’re killing off another life without a care? There’s literally only two humans who are actively trying to stop relying on plants so much and they’re getting old as hell. In all the years since the crash not a damn thing has changed for the plants. And at this point it never will because humans don’t really change all that much if they have no need to. Obviously as the viewer I can think of a better way than to kill off every human but I’m not thinking as the viewer I’m thinking from the perspectives of the plants VS the humans. Essentially I picked a side and I don’t feel bad about it. 🙏🏽

Malaika

To literally eradicate EVERY human; especially the innocent is just as fucking dumb. They're both fueled on different things obviously. And killing his brother wasn't even his intentions, so you tell me. What outcome between the two makes the most sense? And it's never that serious like you stated, I'm having a genuine conversation in a comment section lmao.

Aniki Pft

And yes ep 12 end with the beginning of the manga (more or less) And season 2 has been announced by studio Orange : Trigun Stargaze !!! I’m so hyped !!

Sylisen E.

I didn’t ask… I read their comment and I still stand on what I said. He’s being a clown literally. Now his brother is dead he’s still a wanted man and plants are still being used abused and tossed to the side. How many more hundreds of years and hundreds of dead plants is it going to take to rehabilitate the world. I don’t understand people like you at all. But it’s whatever it’s not that serious.

Malaika

The song being played during that Nai and Vash scene as they're flying up is incredible. I really appreciate Vash's naive views, it's honestly sad.

Aniki Pft

Please look at @Ashes2Ash comment, it's directly above yours. Hopefully it helps this awful perspective you have lmao.

Aniki Pft

I actually appreciate Vash’s naive argument. It’s quite refreshing honestly. Even Nai pointing it out much like the viewers. Phenomenal season. Gonna rewatch the OG again

Archangel Nathanael

So let me get this straight. He killed his brother for a bunch of humans who will kill off his kind and will never EVER accept him? Clown shoes. His new name oughta be BooBoo The Fool.

Malaika

I watched the OG series before this came out and I was super impressed by how they did this remake. I was worried that they would just make their "own story with it" and just nor followining the manga. However season 2 is gonna be the final season which makes sense ofc but so curious what they gonna cook! I hope somebody let Roshi know it's not airing this year it's gonna bw next year.

Kevin Kovacs

It’s definitely a prequel

Mystie

The sad thing about Knives and Vash's final talk there is Vash has no rebuttal because the guy is still stuck with his self destructive ideal.

Gabby Boakye-yiadom

The issue with Knives vs Vash moral dilemma is Knives wants to kill EVERY human. Even the ones who are nice to Plants and treat them kindly. Knives wants all of them eradicated half because of the other Plants dying, but ALSO because he's obsessed with Vash. Vash's ideals aren't really just being passive, he is the full opposite of Knives. He thinks all people should live. He still HATES the people who murder and do other unspeakable crimes, but he feels he has no right to judge them and be their executioner. He wants to defend humanity for the people who ARE GOOD. Wolfwood is probably the best middle ground for the two brothers. He kills people when he needs to. He doesn't like it, but if it means defending himself and others he cares about, he'll do what needs to be done. But he also has a bit of a soft heart, and will help people. Hence why he turned back to help Meryl (and subsequently Vash, who was holding back because Meryl was in the way of the fight.) Wolfwood wants to protect others, and will kill to do so. But he doesn't really kill indiscriminantly.

Ashes2Ash

Apparantley Trigun and BBB have the same mangaka. That's actually pretty cool

mitch anderson

Cannot wait for Trigun: stargaze! But I do think Vash’s point is supposed to be naive.

Niko

Any chance you guys will watch Scavengers Reign? Only 12 episodes and is one of the greatest animated, sci-fi shows I've ever seen

SugarFree

SECOND THIS HONESTLY.... ANOTHER GOOD ANIMR

Ashes2Ash

To answer yall's question at the beginning: The series is called Trigun because Vash has 3 guns. His big ass stupid gun, a gun hidden in his prosthetic arm (not featured in Stampede), and then his giant Angel arm (the canon) featured at the end of this. About the timeline of Stampede with the OG: In the OG (and the manga), the destruction of July has already happened roughly 60 YEARS PRIOR to the start when Meryl and Milly are tracking down Vash. Vash is forced into using the Angel arm again, but ends up blowing a hole/crater into one of the Moons orbitting the planet, rather than nuking another city. In Stampede, they wanted both a prequel, to allow character development to feel more organic for new watchers, but they also wanted to honor the actual plot of the manga. So, instead, they moved the destruction of July to before the 2 year time skip. The Trigun Manga ended in 1996. The sequel manga, which finished the story and was explicitly Seinen, as opposed to the originals Shounen marker, ran from 1997/8-2007/8. The OG anime was released before Maximum really even started, thus had to make its own ending. It'd be really cool to see yall react to that too, its really its own thing. Characters such as Livio, Elendira, Doctor Conrad, and The plotline regarding the new people from Earth were never featured in the original anime, as they were mainly displayed in Maximum. It's exciting to see what Stargaze does with it!

Ashes2Ash

Rem was the mvp when she managed to get Vash to love humans. Also Roshi, land of the lustrous/Houseki no Kuni is a good show from same studio.

Greg Harrison

Yes Milly Thompson was in the original series and it could be a callback to the OG series regarding his bounty if it's not a prequel

LaTesha

Yehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Hasnain Khan

Yes this is "Kinda" a prequel to the OG series. Not a true one cause they changed A LOT but the framework is. 1 st ep of the Og series starts after the destruction of Julai by Vash, but he has amnesia and doesn't remember anything about it, like at the end of this ep. And yes Milly Thompson is the tall long haired partner from the OG show. Stampede got a bad rap from the diehard fans cause of how much they changed but its an absolute slept on gem on its own, I was really hoping you guys would cover it eventually. glad you guys recognized how great it was S2 cant come soon enough

Vincent S Deluca

I'm like 95% sure this was a surprise prequel.

Dann Robb

Yes this is a prequel to the first season.

Red Sun Crusher!!!

So it is a prequel?

Anthony Chase

Hoping for a your lie in April duo reaction someday 🙏🏻

TChang23

Blood blockade Battlefront replacement pleaseeeeeeeee

mitch anderson

Incredible show. Can't wait for a new season of this. We can definitely have good 3D CGI shows like this!

Totally Thomas

One of the main things I TRULY loved about this remake was that the OST and sound design slapped from beginning to end. Especially the OST during Knives final bout, plus you can literally hear the flames burning his throat as he talks. 10/10 series, manga too.

T

And thus Stampede's biggest plot twist at least for us who saw the OG anime or read the manga. This version was a "semi" prequel all along at least in Vash's timeline compared to the source and adaptation. Of course there were hints, the city of July being a big one. But some of the stuff even here is touching on stuff that's endgame consequences for Vash. So it really gets me excited for their plans for season 2.

Gabby Boakye-yiadom

Now we wait for Trigun stargaze

bleach

What is that thumbnail Roshi😂
