Roshi is a tad bit annoying with his constant yelling and griping over how much they're eating as if the concept of a lot of time passing doesn't occur to him. Even if not a lot of time passed .. what they eat isn't always a full meal but just some little thing. Some of what they eat are snacks at best. Like literally that porridge was like an appetizer and then later they ate a somewhat main course meal of grilled squid. Like what is the problem Roshi? You must find it weird at everyone in a county fair constantly eating another thing after having ate something else from a food stand 20 minutes ago. You must yell at yourself a lot at a restaurant having an appetizer and then 45 minutes later eating a full course meal then have desert another 20 minutes later all without fighting for your life calling yourself a greedy fatass. Apply the same logic here except instead of sitting on their asses for an hour or so like you would at a restaurant, these guys are traversing a massive dungeon, fighting for their lives and also doing food prep labor and cooking the meals themselves which takes even longer. They're not overeating at all.

They are using a lot of energy just going through the dungeon. And they just fought a kelpie and a kraken. I wouldn't be surprised they hungry. Magic isn't free use. And portion wise, they share their meals, so they aren't eating as much as we think again within a life-threatening dungeon

Their pigments bags are controlled by their muscles, so when they die it just lets it all go. So yeah, that would be completely normal to happen, and still edible. Many countries in the world eat octopus and squid, so I don't see anything too weird about it. Although I'm not sure I'd be able to tank eating the giant parasite, but that might just be a me thing lol.
