He knows the present and past because he's been in a loop? (well, his ability too ig). The theory where Cheng passes down his powers to Lu seems very plausible, since he hesitates a lot when asked about stealing powers. They way he answered is technically correct, since passing it isn't the same as stealing it.

It also shows just how much Lu cares about him because he KNOWS the consequences, yet he's still determined to keep him alive. It also makes the amount of times Cheng has thrown himself into danger kinda funny like you know Lu was tired of him lmao

2024-08-27 10:18:50 +0000 UTCno spoilers of course but i just want to clarify that (from what i could tell) cheng died in the alternate timeline of him getting shot in the subway by the cop. instead of it grazing him in the timeline we saw i think in the alternate one it hit him in a vital spot. I say that because of how the animation gets weird when we see everything form lu guangs point of view. and hes holding cheng on the ground with blood all over his hands. Then we see him covered in blood back in their studio apartment area with a photo in his hands. Thats after chung has died and lu is about to go back in time to the point where he was shot in the subway to try to change it. There would be literally no reason for them to bring up this far into the season that chung was brought back to life at some point last season, no that just happened. the subway is what was being referenced while they were talking about the fact homeboy was brought back. I hope this helps, even though it is just my theory.

That is how Lu has already known every events that has happened so far. He knew he needed to take a pic while he was at the hospital bed. He knew they were going to the subway. He wasnât worried at all while he was captured. I think Lu has been doing some Subaru shit where he has consistently been going back in time over n over whenever Cheng dies to always keep him alive.

I do understand the message of this season about how pride and jealousy can destroy who you are, your moral, and people around you. this season got a great mystery plot and the message, but the villain and the villain motivation and their beliefs should be more focus, I do think this season is great. But season 1 still in the most peak for me, the set up for season 3 is peak so there is that.

Since it shows he has a memory of Cheng dying, and Lu went back to save him - if death is truly an unchangeable node, then I think the Cheng we've been following is an alternate timeline Cheng. The Cheng from the original timeline has already died, and there's nothing anyone can do to save him. Maybe Lu Guang going back to change a node created an alternate timeline. But no matter what, Cheng Xaioshi is supposed to die, so maybe the alternate timeline version (or versions) are bound to be killed as well.

The only thing Cheng may have been responsible for slightly was Doudou, and that seems to be a sort of time loop. Even that, the kidnapper was the one who caused the crime, Cheng just felt guilty because he felt that Qiao Ling may have reported it if she wasn't distracted by him

If you look in the background of the scene, Cheng and Lu seem to be in a forest or something. Also they intentionally cover up the year when Lu Guang goes back in time so it could be in the future and he just went back to stop it where it started.

The way Iâve personally seen Cheng meeting Lu is like this: Cheng happens to meet Lu on the basketball court in high school one day and asks him to play. A few days/weeks later when Cheng and Qiao are fixing the studio Lu walks by and says âitâs youâ, referring to when they played basketball together. I think when Qiao says that Lu âappearedâ in their life she means that for years it was just Cheng and her and then suddenly when they met Lu Guang it was the first time Cheng made a friend who wasnât herself. I donât think thereâs any timeline stuff happening between those two events but I think it may be possible that the reason Lu Guang first met Cheng at the basketball court is because he already knew Cheng from another timeline and decided to run into him there. That last part is just purely a theory though

The 12 Hour rule might be "half" BS. We've seen Cheng Xiaoshi get Yeet'ed out of photos before, like in the child trafficking case, but I think that "limitation" is more of Lu Guang being a escape rope that yanks Xiaoshi out of photos after 12 hours on the dot (similar to Tianchen having the power to disrupt Xiaoshi's quantum leaps). We see Lu Guang throughout the series stare at the clock to time everything exactly on the dot. He understandably had to lie to Xiaoshi about the basketball earthquake situation. What we also found out is Lu Guang also kept the information about the self-clapping away from Xiaoshi, which is why he was furious when Xiaoshi revealed that he taught himself how to self clap into photos during the Lu Min and Shenshen case.

I can finally share it now that they're done with season 2 lol. I'm not going to go through the whole song because that would probably take twenty minutes to read lmao!! So I'll just talk about a few lines. I first want to talk about the lyrics "I have dreamt dispair" and later "Awakened every night, surrounded by the devils, I saw the shadows taking my life." It may be a stretch, but it got me wondering if Cheng Xaioshi has been having dreams of his past death. I don't see it as something impossible. In season 2, when Cheng Xaioshi goes back in time as Officer Chen, he made that ring from the vine. Officer Chen's wife, in the present timeline, said that she thinks she had a dream about it. So I'm wondering if Lu Guang going back in time to try to change the past to save him created a parallel timeline, and so Cheng remembers his death but as a dream that he keeps having. To me it would make sense, seeing how anytime we see Cheng alone (in the series and in the intros/outros) he always looks depressed. He only ever looks happy when he's interacting with others, so he could possibly be masking how he's actually feeling. He seems like the kind of person who tries to laugh off his negative feelings. The next line I want to talk about is "I have been lost, I have gone way above my head. I've been drawn to this sensation - give in to my existence" So that first part where it talks about going way above my head, could be talking about Cheng's death happening for exactly that reason. He got caught up in something he simply couldn't handle. The next part "I've been drawn to this sensation - give in to my existence" I think could be an explanation for Cheng's carelessness. What if Cheng Xaioshi is making careless decisions because he is subconsciously aware that he is supposed to be dead? So Lu Guang going back to try to save him is driving Cheng to subconsciously make reckless decisions that will inevitably lead to his death? Perhaps the more Lu Guang tries to save him, the more extreme Cheng's actions that will cause him to die become? Again, these are just theories I have. I'm curious to see what anyone else thinks. I may be reaching for connections lol but who knows. I will say that I strongly believe some of the lines are specifically about Cheng Xaioshi, while other lines are about Lu Guang. The song is a masterpiece regardless.

The Tianxi's powers tag teaming with Tianchen's powers allows Tianchen's mind-body control to work remotely without touching (as Tianxi's power is the one reliant on photographs). Similar to how Xiaoshi and Guang can tag up and stack each other's powers, allowing Xiaoshi to quantum leap, while Guang provides surveillance transdimentionally. We also know that Xiaoshi's and Tianchen's quantum leap powers also transfer physical attributes, hence why Liu Min can "walk again" or the basketball kid having hoops and his vision 20/20. Now that Ling has Tianxi's powers, I wonder what tag team combo would come out of it if she tagged Cheng Xiaoshi or Lu Guang? I also wonder if she'll confront Lu Guang for Guang's whole Homura loopin'.

I don't know why some people are mad, they don't have to read it if they don't want đ I read the whole thing, and it was worth it! One thing I was wondering during my first rewatch, and then you reminded me about it in this post, was how Lu Guang and Cheng Xaioshi met. During the basketball game, they made it seem like Lu and Cheng met while playing basketball. But then, later in the season, they made it seem like Cheng and Qiao Ling met Lu Guang while they were fixing up the building. Qiao Ling even said something to the effect of that Lu Guang "suddenly appeared" in their lives. So I'm wondering if one (or both) situations were actually an alternate timeline where Lu went back in time to save Cheng, and "appeared" in his life at different points to try to make changes. Just theories though based on what I remember. I may have misunderstood something, so someone correct me if I remembered something wrong.

So the Cheng from the original timeline has already died and there is no saving him. I think the Cheng Xaioshi we've been following this whole time is an alternate timeline Cheng, and each time Lu went back to save him, he was trying to save a different alternate timeline version. So when Liu Xiao said at the end of the episode that he wanted to bring all the parallel lines together, he is most likely trying to eliminate all the alternate timelines, leaving the one original one to prevent any further chaos. And, of course, doing so will then eliminate any chance Lu Guang had to save a version of Cheng.

In the first opening you can see the video film cover changes eyes like they did to the sister this episode. First episode of season 2 rhere is a glimpse of cheng dying and a neon echo of lu guang screaming/ crying which is repeated in this episode. Cheng in the first opening in a flash looks dead with torn pictures lying all around him. They literally planned this the entire time.

The other Lu we see with blood on him is Iâm assuming from the last time he went back in time. Long story short; the current Cheng is probably still at risk of being killed if it really is a time node that canât be changed, no matter how many times Lu jumps back. Then Lu clapped back to the past and changed things so that Cheng wouldn't die. Wouldn't that mean that Lu never would have gotten the ability to clap since Cheng didn't die, and from the moment he changed the past he technically changed the future (the present he clapped from) and he shouldn't have been able to clap back to that present future because his present future self wouldn't have had the ability to clap? Or do the changes he made not impact him until he claps back to the present future? I could be totally backwards with my line of thinking but it makes sense to me lol.

The date that Cheng had originally died. I'm pretty sure when they zoomed in on his watch at the end of the episode, those were the numbers.

One thing they established in Season 1, is that Xiaoshi's impulsive behavior, always ends up screwing up timelines and the bigger picture. Xiaoshi had a moment where he could have stood still, not go on that boat, and change things for the better. Unfortunately, his hard headed self in the pass activated his impulsiveness, leading to him having to force himself to get captured.

Reason being, is when he got shot and survived here, Guang treated it as "not again", similar to Homura Akemi having "similar but different" endings to all her time loops in Madoka. It also has me wondering, is this Liu Guang's first time loop? Or like Homura, has he been living the same several months over 100 times? (Would be ironic too, because they were trying to pass Guang off as a 200+ year old man in the hospital earlier in the series when they had him pose as the Shining Finger Sifu. Like you've seen in Japanese and Korean media, a lot of Chinese origin east asian cultures put their last name first (Hence why I call them by their first names like Xiaoshi or Guang. They literally showed us Xiaoshi's death in full, right in front of us without us as the viewer noticing. The reason they flashed it there, was because Emma, presumably, wasn't supposed to die. Emma dying led to Guang getting stabbed (which didn't happen in Guang's original timeline, which is why he both couldn't predict it and even contemplated giving up trying to save the past). This Guang-Xiaoshi situation is similar to a Homura-Madoka situation with the time traveler's desire to keep their closest friend alive being the end all be all goal. And yes, I assume Guang got the time powers from holding Xiaoshi as he died, the exact same way that Tianxi did to Ling. Funny thing now is that Ling is a wild card, having Guang's memories have dragged her into Guang's time loop shenanigans. In an interesting way too, Emma dying being the major divergence, was the way that Guang was able to change the "inevitible" future of Xiaoshi dying. Can't wait til Season 3. Some people are saying it's a "prequel", but remember, this is a time traveling show. Going in the past can mean moving into the future. I wonder if it's going to occur during that time when Guang and Xiaoshi traveled overseas, when Ling caught present Xiaoshi during the child trafficking case

I think in the other timeline where Cheng dies from getting shot, Cheng also transferred his powers to Lu. Cause in the flash of Cheng being dead I believe Lu was holding him. Just like Ling was holding the little girl. So I think Lu Guang after Cheng died decided that he couldnât accept Cheng death and used Chengâs power that was given to him to go back to a certain point in time to play things out in a way to where Cheng gets shot, but doesnât die.

Obvi Tianxi is obviously compelling, but with Tianchen something about his character is really overlooked, which is his TBI. He was distrusting for good reason as a kid but not homicidal, then he took a full force blow with a hammer from a grown ass adult to the head as a 10 year old (which means his brain is still developing). I literally have no clue how painful that is how much it could impact him long term, but in the short term here we can see his left eye didn't function right when his mom was hugging him while dying. It is clearly 2 disabled and vulnerable kids being taken advantage by fucking Qian Jian. So for the last time, FUCK YOU CAPTAIN QIAN. YOU DESERVE A BAD LIFE

Especially since seasons 1 and 2 are very different but at the same time very strongly connected. Genius anime and best time travel anime imo. Let me know if thereâs anything big I missed and I can add it in: - ???? Sept 21th (12:05 am): At an unknown year that is blurred out, on September 21st Lu Guang uses Cheng Xiaoshiâs abilities to dive back in time and change the past. He says this is his âlast chance to return to the beginningâ. It seems that Cheng Xiaoshi died in this timeline and her abilities got transferred to Lu Guang. - *Dive 3* Earliest event so far is Siwen climbing the stairs for an unspecified amount of time (Probably around 30-50 years) to challenge his loverâs father. - *Dive 2* Photo dives for the restaurants of the noodle ladies, likely ranging a few decades prior to Ep 1. - Sometime in the 2000s: Qian Jin becomes a prominent police officer with a good reputation. He is partnered with Xiao Li, who is later known as Captain Xiao. - Qian Jin eventually mentors Chen Bin and becomes close with both him and Xiao Li. Outside of work, Qian Jin grows paranoid and becomes suspicious of his wife having an affair with her fellow acting colleague, Zhuang Shuai. He becomes obsessive over it and Chen Bin takes notice. The final straw was when he believed they were lying about checking out a venue in a location where it wouldnât make much sense. - Qian Jin murders his wife and covers it up, in part due to Xiao Liâs trust of Qian being extremely righteous. Qian Jin questions to Xiao Li what all his hard work and life is even for if he canât even keep his wife loyal. Xiao Li tells Qian that his wife was pregnant when she died, making him believe even further that she was having an affair since he never knew. He laughs maniacally - Sometime in the 2000s at a similar time range: Li Tianchen/Li Tianxiâs mother meets with Mr. Zhou, Tianxiâs teacher about how to help Tianxi the most. She says sheâs thinking about getting a divorce which Tianxi overhears, making her cry thinking that her mom doesnât want her. Tianxiâs mom says that sheâs never going to leave or separate from her Dad, and just to never repeat that again. - Similar to the two birds spouting shit to the dad wolf in the story, Deng the twinsâ neighbour starts spreading rumours with the security guard about the twinsâ mother having an affair with the school teacher Mr. Zhou. Tianchen overhears them and hates them with a passion. - When losing his ball in a fountain, Tianchen tries to recover it but doesnât want to get wet or dirty. A person jumps into the fountain and gets the ball for him, instilling in him the philosophy of having courage, not being afraid, and being a âhunterâ. He comes friends with this person, who ends up being Liu Xiao, son of Liu Jing the CEO of Quede Games, and the younger brother of Liu Min, the blonde antagonist. - 6 Months After Qian Jinâs Wifeâs Murder *Dive 12*: Future Cheng dives into Tianxiâs body and goes out with her mother. While trying to win a plushy they run into Deng the neighbour. On the way home Tianchen yells and pushes Deng away, since he has an intense hatred for him for spreading rumours about their family. Tianchen says he hates people like that. Tianchen then reminds Tianxi about the sign language for âI want to go homeâ. The twinsâ father goes insane over the plushy and camera, thinking that his wife is cheating on him and beats his wife to near death. Tianchen remembers what Liu Xiao said to him and decides to be courageous, getting hit with a hammer in the process. The twinsâ powers awaken, and together they control their mom through the photo of her and Tianxi. The result is that both of their parents die. The police who were called by Deng when Tianxi knocked on his door come to the crime scene. - One of the police officers is Qian Jin, who meets the twins for the first time at the crime scene and hugs them. Tianchen laughs maniacally similar to Qian Jin which reminds him of himself and they both begin laughing insanely while Tianxi cries. Qian Jin covers up the info on the twins and gives Tianchen his first hit, Zhuang Shuai. Tianchen and Tianxi together dives into Zhuangâs body and make him hang himself. - Qian Jin quits the force after rumours start spreading that the âsuicideâ had something to do with him. He becomes a lawyer for the Liu Jing family. - Late 2007-early 2008: Cheng Xiaoshiâs parents leave for a trip and don't return. Cheng and Qiao Ling have already been childhood friends, so Qiao Lingâs dad lends Cheng 10 years of rent which he will pay off after that when heâs an adult. - May 2008 *Dive 4*: The concept of ânodesâ is introduced. Most changes made wouldnât matter because all the relevant people end up dying in the earthquake so the timeline is preserved. Cheng Xiaoshi dives into Chen Xiaoâs body and wins the basketball game as well as learns that the gym is going to close down either way. He delivers heartfelt messages from Chen Xiao in the future to his captain, lover and mom. He tries altering the timeline but Lu Guang lightly manipulates him into letting things play out as they should. Earthquake happens and a young Cheng goes to see a young Qiaoâs house crying worried that his parents died in the event. - Mid 2010s: Cheng Xiaoshi has developed skills and a love for basketball. Sometime in high school Cheng Xiaoshi meets Lu Guang on the court and asks him to join in and play. - Mid 2010s: Sometime later (Likely still in high school), Lu Guang passes by the photo studio while Cheng and Qiao are painting it and says hello to Cheng. Qiao Ling convinces Lu Guang to help them out and thus the beginning of their long friendship begins. Lu says he was drawn to being Chengâs friend because he was quite ânaiveâ. - The trio attend college in Guidu, which is likely where they met and became friends with Xu Shanshan and Dong Yi (They may have all met somehow before but itâs unclear). - At some point, Qian Jin and Tianchen meet with Liu Min for the first time. Liu Min remarks that Tianchen looks familiar, possibly because he say him hanging out with his brother at some point. Liu Min wants them to put an end to the internet trolls who have been attacking him online. Tianchen checks who the first target is, and laughs maniacally as itâs Deng their former neighbour. Tianchen feels like this is poetic justice since although it was his Dad who caused the family problems, it was Deng and the security guards who were the birds chirping in his dadâs ears making him go insane. Together, Qian, Min, and Tianchen laugh together insanely once more and begin their friendship. This is the start of a string of serial murders. - Mid 2010s Sometime (Maybe) *Dive 11*: Future Cheng dives into Chen Binâs body on the day his phone wallpaper photo was taken, which was the day him and his wife got their marriage certificate. He makes a ring out of a dandelion and proposes, apologizing for his inability to stay by her side, he thanks her for forgiving his frequent absences. He pledges love and protection not only for the rest of this life, but also across the span of their future lives to come, and asks if she is willing to marry him in all subsequent existences. She teases that she canât refuse now that they have their marriage certificate and jokes that his chances of marrying her in the next life will depend on his performance then - 2018? (3 Years ago and since present day is 2021âŠ): Sometime during dollege Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang travel overseas together for a trip â> THIS IS GOING TO BE SHOWN IN SEASON 3 THIS OCTOBER 8 EPISODES. - While Cheng and Lu are on vacation, Future Cheng from *Dive 6* dives into Doudou and is kidnapped by the human trafficking bitch. Qiao and Xu walk by while noticing Doudou being taken away. - *Dive 5*: Future Cheng dives back in time through the security camera so his whole body is in the past. While chasing after the bitch he runs into Qiao and Xu from the past and ends up distracting Qiao from Doudou being kidnapped, as she is wondering why Cheng isnât overseas. Future Cheng wakes up in a motel in Doudouâs body and attempts to get the kidnapperâs ID while noticing religious and spiritual items. Cheng fights off the kidnapper in Doudouâs body while using the martial arts learned from Master Siwen. He uses the kidnapperâs spiritual beliefs against her telling her sheâll go to hell if she doesnât take care of Doudou for the next 3 years. After Doudou begins crying and acting like a kid again she believes that he was actually possessed by the spirits of her ancestors and beings taking care of Doudou. - 2019? (Dong and Xu finished â2 years of post-gradâ in 2021 soâŠ): All 5 friends graduate together from Guidu. Emma joins Quede games and notices the accounts are being embezzled. - At some unspecified point, Cheng and Lu obtained or learned of their time-photo abilities and opened up an investigation business from the photo studio in order to pay back Chengâs rent to Qiaoâs dad. Lu is just helping him out because heâs good friends with Cheng and Qiao it seems but itâs not specified. No one knows about their powers but them. Itâs unclear how many times they dive before Episode 1 of Season 1 but they build a reputation as reliable people who can perform investigative tasks with photos. Rumours start to spread about them having magical or mystical abilities. Lu Guang tells Cheng 3 rules for whenever they dive: 1) Only 12 hours to complete the task. 2) Follow Lu Guangâs instructions so he doesnât alter the past. 3) Leave the past and future be. - (Dives will be counted starting from the ones shown in the series) - 2021 April 13th (10 pm) to 2021 April 14th (10 am) *Dive 1*: Cheng dives into Emmaâs body and lives her life for the next 12 hours. Emma is used as the scapegoat and fired from her job. - 2021 April 16th (10 pm) to 2021 April 17th (10 am): Cheng and Lu get a job to gather financial data from Quede Games before the 3rd quarter financial report. Cheng dives into Emmaâs body and returns at 10 am on the 17th (Dive 1). - 2021 April 17th (After 10 am): Emmaâs boss Mr. Zhu is arrested for embezzlement. Due to the message Cheng sent, Emmaâs parents came by to drop her momâs homemade spring rolls since they thought Emma was feeling lonely. Emma gets emotional and goes to meet her parents. Liu Min plans to go after Emma for ruining his company. While on her way to meet her parents Emma bumps into Liu Min who offers her a ride. - *Dive 8* Future Cheng solo dives through the security camera into the parking lot where Liu Min takes Emma into his car and hides in the trunk. Liu Min stops the car and strangles Emma to almost death before hearing Cheng scream from guilt in the trunk. When he opens the trunk Cheng dives out of the security footage. - 2021 April 17th (11:35 pm) to 2021 April 18th (Sunrise): Liu Min comes to his senses and begins driving to take Emma to the hospital but Emma regains consciousness and crashes the car in an attempt to escape, paralyzing Liu Min. Emma becomes suicidal and almost jumps off a nearby bridge. - 2021 April 17th (?) or 18th: Liu Min is taken to the hospital after the car crash. His father Liu Jing, gets Qian to âtake careâ of Emma with Tianchen. - *Dive 10*: Future Cheng who dove through the security footage comes to talk her out of it. He uses all his past diving experiences to give her hope and save her life, telling her that he knows what sheâs been through. Li Tianchen takes over Emmaâs body and meets Cheng Xiaoshi for the first time, remarking that thereâs a witness this time for his body-snatching murders. He jumps off the bridge in Emmaâs body before diving out, killing Emma. - 2021 April 19th: Cheng sees the news about the Quede Games embezzlement scandal on the news seeing that their Emma-diving mission went well. Lu Guang seeâs the news about Emmaâs corpse being found and stays silent. - 2021 Sometime Between April 19th and Early October (Unspecified): Cheng and Lu get a client asking to find the secret recipe for the noodles of a noodle restaurant she and her partner owned before her partner bailed (Dive 2). - 2021 Sometime Between April 19th and Early October (Unspecified): Qiao joins a dojo to learn self-defence and meets Master Siwen who tells her the story about his quest to marry the girl he loves. Cheng and Lu dive to learn the fatherâs secret move and fail (Dive 3). Cheng and Lu help Siwen finally win her fatherâs approval. Cheng, Lu and Qiao all begin training martial arts from master Siwen. - 2021 Late September/Early October: Cheng develops Chen Xiaoâs photos from 2008 after being asked by him. - 2021 Oct ?: Qiao Ling hears on the radio that thereâs been a string of serial murders while Chen Xiao approaches her about the basketball/earthquake case. Cheng Xiaoshi dives into Chen Xiaoâs younger body in 2008 to deliver his 3 messages (Dive 4). - Cheng and Lu Guang donât talk for days due to Cheng being traumatized by the pain of everyone dying from the earthquake and mad at Lu Guang for lying to him. - 2021 Oct ?: Captain Xiao first meet the trio and approach them about the Doudou case. - 2021 Oct 12th: Captain Xiao noticed the file on the 7th victim missing and blames Chen Bin. Chen Bin also helps Doudouâs father get security camera footage that is passed to Cheng, Lu, and Qiao to use for diving. - 2021 Oct 14th: Cheng dives into the security camera footage to save Doudou but is startled and runs into Qiao and Xu from 3 years prior when he is supposed to be overseas. (Dive 5). - 2021 Oct 14th: Cheng dives again but this time into Doudouâs body and is successful (Dive 6). - 2021 Oct. ?: Doudou reunion with family and kidnapper arrested. Captain Xiao approaches the trio with Emmaâs murder case but Lu Guang refuses before Cheng notices. - 2021 Oct 19th *Dive 7*: Future Cheng dives into Xu Shanshan as she had too much to drink and canât remember what Dong Yi said to her at a party that is vital to their relationship. He sees who he thinks is the serial killer and follows them before apprehending them. - 2021 Oct 20th: Xu posts a photo of her and Qiaoling before going to ask Cheng and Lu to help her finds out what Dong said to her. Cheng dives into Xuâs body and Lu Guang gets the information they need. Lu Guang messages the information to Xu (Dive 7). - 2021 Oct 20st *Dive 9*: While Xu is in bed that night, Cheng dives into Xu Shanshan. He confronts Li Tianchen who is inhabiting Liu Minâs body and intrigues him by challenging him to a game. He says he left a clue at 10am. Tianchen theorizes that this may be the same person whom he saw on the bridge through Emmaâs body and is intrigued. He agrees to play along. - 2021 Oct 21st: Xuâs photo appears in the paper and Dong waits for Xu outside his job interview building. Tianchen calls the trio. Lu Guang goes to police station to provide them with the LIu Minâs plates, who has been a suspect in the serial murders. - 2021 Oct 21st: Cheng XIaoshi solo dives into the surveillance camera shot of April 17th through his computer to when Liu Min is taking Emma away. Qiao Ling sees him return and learns of their powers (Dive 8). - 2021 Oct 21st: Captain Xiao and Chen Bin visit Liu Minâs house and learn that heâs paralyzed. At 10am Qiao Ling messages Xu Shanshanâs phone which Tianchen/Min has, which is the clue Cheng said heâd give. Cheng then preps the dark photo room for his plan to trap the killer. At 4pm Cheng dives into Xuâs body to confront the killer (Dive 9). - 2021 Oct 22nd (1:20 am): Killer arrives at the studio and is led into the dark room by a voice recording Cheng previously set up. Lu Guang runs and locks the killer in the photo room. Cheng dives back from Dive 9 and traps the killer in the room with him, surrounded by photos. Cheng fights the killer and gets him to confess, allowing the police to come and arrest him. Tianchen dives out of Liu Min. Cheng asks Chen Bin for footage of Emma to stop her from jumping off the bridge (Dive 10). Li Tianchen uses a photo of Qiao Ling that Xu took of them both to take over Qiao Ling, as he was in possession of Xuâs phone (Also the photo was posted on her moments but I think the show forgot about that, or the character of Tianchen didnât check Xuâs social media and went straight for her phone gallery). Tianchen stabs Lu Guang in Qiao Lingâs body. - 2021 Oct 22nd (5:50 am): Cheng exits his dive after witnessing Emma be taken over by Tianchen in the past and die. He notices Lu Guang passed out bleeding on the couch and Qiao Ling being taken over by the killer (Tianchen) with the knife in hand. The two of them fight and Cheng disarms the killer using the martial arts taught by Siwen. Cheng gains valuavle information about the killer at this point such as them having an ability to tell lies somehow, and their ability also having to do with photos. He also learned that the killer wants to steal Chengâs ability somehow. The killer notably also remarks that Cheng cheated last time with the photo room plan and tells him not to do it again. After the police come into the studio, Tianchen leaves Qiao Lingâs body leaving looking guilty for stabbing Lu Guang. Cheng takes the knife and gets taken into custody to avoid Qiao taking any blame. - 2021 Oct 22nd (6 am to 7:55 pm): Cheng is detained and questioned but no one believes him and he has to wait until Xiao and Chen Bin are able to get him out. He is lied about Lu Guang not surviving the operation for Luâs protection. Lu Guang survives the operation and is transferred to a special ward. Siwen and Ouyang come to help the trio and register Lu Guang to the hospital under Ouyangâs fatherâs name. - 2021 Oct 22nd 7:55 pm: Chen Bin picks Cheng Xiaoshi up from jail. - Liu Min dies and Chen Bin contacts the Liu family letting them know. Liu Jing the father doesnât care about Liu Min dying and just wants his phone to be recovered since it has valuable data on the company and family. He sends Qian Jin to recover the phone. Qian Jin visits Chen Binâs wife with his goon Ma. Ma plants evidence so when Chen Bin eventually gets murdered, it will look like he was a dirty cop taking bribes. When they leave they take a photo of Chen Bin for the twins to use. - 2021 Oct 22nd 8:20 pm: Chen Bin gets a call from his wife that Qian Jin are at his house to see him. Chen Bin and Cheng Xiaoshi arrive at the special ward where Lu Guang is and Cheng changes. At the same time, Qian Jin gives the stolen photo of Chen Bin to Tianchen, and he holds Tianxiâs hand using both of their powers to possess Chen Bin. - 2021 Oct 22nd night: Cheng learns Lu is still alive. Cheng, Lu, Qiao and Xiao all discuss information and what to do further while Tianchen listens to everything through Chen Binâs body. They discuss the killerâs motive and abilities as well as precautions against him. - 2021 Oct 22nd 8:44pm: The trio decide to look at Liu Minâs confiscated phone for clues about the killer. Once they get the phone from Chen Bin they notice that itâs not Liu Minâs phone, but Chenâs phone instead. Chen runs out of the room and Xiao goes chasing after him. The possessed Chen gives the phone to Ma. Tianxi gets overwhelmed by Chenâs memories and by what theyâre doing, realizing theyâre doing actually what happened to then. Unable to leave another daughter without a parent and destroy another family like how thereâs way destroyed, Tianxi breaks off the connection and runs out of the van away from Qian and Tianchen. Tianchen chases after Tianxi, and Qian Jin sends goons to the hospital to help Ma since the connection was now broken. While Siwen, Ouyang and her father are leaving the hospital after helping the trio out they notice a lot of goons and decide to check back in with Cheng and the others. Ma pushes Chen Bin off the roof since heâs no longer possessed. - Tianxi runs into Siwen and the others and drops her photo. Tianchen runs past them and gets stopped by Ouyangâs dad, giving him the photo. He points them in the wrong direction and runs to the real direction of the ward. He takes Liu Minâs phone from Ma, making Ma think that he was sent by Qian Jin to keep the phone safe. - Xiao witnesses Chen Binâs death from being pushed off the roof by Ma. - Cheng and Qiao split up looking for anyone responsible in the hospital while being directed by Lu Guang. They both get into a 2 v 1 against Ma and take him down. His goons show up but they are all taken out by Ouyanâs father, who finally arrives at the ward with his daughter and Siwen. The police reinforcements arrive and take everyone into custody. Tianchen goes to Lu Guangâs ward and gives him the last photo of their mother. - The goons, Cheng, Qiao and Xiao go to the police station and Cheng calls Lu Guang to check in. - 2021 Oct 23rd Morning/Afternoon: Cheng Bin and Liu Minâs funeral are held in the same location. Chen Binâs wife arrives at the funeral in her wedding dress since they were never able to have their wedding, bringing everyone to tears. Xiao, Cheng and Qiao come into contact with Liu Jing, his wife and Qian Jin for the first time. Xiao and Qian have a tense confrontation and Cheng swings at Liu Jing after he insults Chen Bin. Chengâs punch is caught by Qian Jin but Qiao Ling slaps him hard across the face, which heâll remember for a while. - 2021 Oct 23rd Late Afternoon: Cheng returns to Lu Guangâs room and wants to help Chen Bin and his wife by giving them some happiness in a way that wouldnât change the timeline. Lu Guang agrees and they use Chen Binâs wallpaper to dive to the day Chen and his wife got their marriage certificate. (Dive 11). - 2021 Oct 24th: Lu Guangâs birthday. Xiao asks Lu Guang what happened when Tianchen appeared at the ward, since he has security footage of it but Lu Guang wasnât disclosing the information. He shows them the photo but says he canât see too far into it like he usually can because of his injuries. Cheng dives into the photo as Tianxi (Dive 12). - 2021 Oct 24th Late Afternoon: Tianchen tells Qian Jin his plan to kidnap Cheng Xiaoshi and find his sister Tianxi. They want to use Chengâs powers to change the past for both of them. Qian briefs him on the getaway and drops him at the police station where Tianchen impersonates his sister. Cheng learns all about Tianxi and Tianchenâs past from diving into the photo and notices some strange interference in his powers and connection with Lu Guang that happened when the brother touched him. Cheng gets completely kicked out of the photo when Tianchen uses his powers in combination with Tianxiâs for the first time, but he gets to see through their Momâs POV for a second before getting kicked out. - 2021 Oct 24th Early Evening: Cheng and everyone gets notified by Wang Juan that someone claiming to know all about the murders is at the police station and will only speak with Cheng Xiaoshi. Cheng, Qiao and Xiao leave for the station. Cheng Xiaoshi and Li Tianchen have their very first in-person meeting, although Tianchen is pretending to be his sister Tianxi. - 2021 Oct 24th 6:42 pm *Dive 13*: Lu Guang takes a photo of the view from outside his window. It appears as if Lu Guang is taking it for the purpose of allowing Cheng from the future the ability to dive into his body. Future Cheng follows through and dives into Lu Guangâs body, following the actions that Lu Guang took in the future he was from. He texts Qiao Ling the waterway location of where current Cheng is being taken. - Cheng and Tianchen have a discussion, and remarks that Cheng cheated last time so he doesnât trust him. Cheng says he doesnât have anything other than his phone on him, knowing that he has a bug and that the police is listening in. Tianchen touches Cheng and is able to control him, asking him to go out. Wang Juan appears saying sheâll go with âherâ, but Tianchen asks how she would appear so suddenly if they werenât being listened in on. Tianchen then touches both Cheng and Wang Juan, controlling both of them and leaving the station. The 3 of them get to the entrance and the security guard lets them leave after the controlled Wang Juan says theyâre getting something to eat. Qiao and Xaio get to the entrance as well and Xiao goes in the direction of where Tianchen and the others went, using the tracker in the bug thatâs on Cheng. - 2021 Oct 24th 6:55 pm: âLu Guangâ recreates the events that happened and breaks the window while going to hide in the bathroom. He sends Qiao Ling the riverfront address. - 2021 Oct 24th 7pm: Qian Jin sends his goons to attack the police. - Qiao Ling checks her phone and sees the message from âLu Guangâ earlier and heads for the waterway. - Wang Juan is left handcuffed to a pole and Tianchen takes Cheng to one of Qian Jinâs goons, who finds and destroys the tracking bug. Xiao finds Wang Juan and confirms itâs her with her officer number. Wang Juan fights off Ma and other goons but is critically injured and almost killed by a surprise bat to the head by Qian Jin. Qian Jin tells Ma that Wang Juan worked on the force with him and was known for her combat ability. Xiao fights and defeats the big goon and then goes to check on Wang Juan but sees her bleeding unconscious and screams. - Tianchen and Cheng arrive at the waterway right before Qiao Ling and âLu Guangâ. âLu Guangâ drives a boat into the one that Tianchen is about to board and jumps onto Cheng, disconnecting him from Tianchenâs contact control. âLu Guangâ fights off Tianchenâs attempts to touch both him and Cheng with a surprise display of fighting and martial arts. âLu Guangâ is about to change the future from what he witnessed, by not following Tianchen and being caught, thus saving Lu Guang from being captured. However, current Cheng runs after Tianchen. To prevent Tianchen from getting his powers, âLu Guangâ rushes first and gets caught, thus fulfilling the future he saw anyways. This likely means that the future is predetermined and there are no alternate timelines as of yet in the story. Future Cheng Xiaoshi gets kicked out of Lu Guangâs body and Tianchen takes Lu as a hostage. Xiao takes Wang Juan back to the station and puts out a warrant for âLi Tianxiâ, as everyone believes the killer is Tianxi and not her brother due to him impersonating her. - After returning to the station, Cheng, Xiao and Qiao look for clues about what happened to Lu Guang as theyâre confused on what his planning and thinking were. They find Lu Guangâs phone and see the photo he took of the window. Together they deduce that the âLu Guangâ at the waterfront wasnât Lu Guang at all but in fact Cheng in Luâs body. It made more sense to them seeing the fighting skills Lu Guang was displaying, which he never displayed at Siwenâs training. The police find the real Li Tianxi. Qiao Ling convinces Cheng to dive and repeat the events in Lu Guangâs body, saying that she believes the future is predetermined. Cheng agrees and dives (Dive 13). - Qiao Ling talks to Tianxi and learns about both twinsâ powers. They find out that it was the brother who they met before, Tianchen. Qian Jin learns that Tianchen failed and captured Lu Guang instead of Cheng, who they donât care about since they want Chengâs diving abilities. While Tianchen helps Lu Guang change, Cheng and Qiao get Tianxi to see where/how Lu Guang is doing. She is too upset to continue. - 2021 Oct 25th 2:25 am: Qian Jin constructs a thorough plan with his knowledge and intelligence of the police force and gets Tianchen to call the police offering a hostage trade. They demand that Qiao Ling be the one to come with Cheng since Qian Jin remembers the slap she gave him. Cheng creates a plan to escape after the trade using his diving abilities by diving into the police footage on Xiaoâs phone and diving back when the trade is done (Dive 14). - 2021 Oct 25th 3 am *Dive 14*: Cheng and Qiao go to the theatre with Tianxi and the captain outside in the car monitoring. Qian Jin makes Cheng and Qiao change before turning off the metal detector and making them walk through it. This way, they wouldnât suspect that their new clothes were bugged with trackers. Qian and Tianchen knew that Cheng would rely too much on his ability like he has before, so they arranged for explosives to go off in the theatre and for Ma to be in the car and follow Chengâs new position when he escapes. Lu and Cheng exchange places, saving Lu Guang. The lights go out and a trap door opens making Cheng Xiaoshi and Li Tianchen meet once again, this time without disguises. Cheng dives back to escape and ends up in the car. Explosives go off and Ma tases Xiao, Cheng and Tianxi, capturing the latter two. - After the fallout of the explosives, Lu, Qiao and Xiao deduce that Qiao, Tianchen and Ma likely escaped to the underground railway, so they set off to cover the north and south. - Qian, Cheng, Tianchen, Tianxi and Ma have a confrontation in the sewer. Qian says he wants Cheng to go back and fix things with his wife. Cheng asks if the person who gave Lu Guang the photo was Tianchen or Tianxi, and Tianchen confirms it was him. Qian Jin acts confused like he doesnât know that Tianchen had Liu Minâs phone, but Ma exposes him on accident which leads to Ma getting shot. Everyone is now hostile with each other so Tianchen brings up the fact that Qianâs wife never cheated. Ma attacks Qian Jina and the two run away from the others fighting. Lu Guang, Xiao Li and Qiao Ling hear the gun shots and run towards Cheng. Tianchen tries to grab Cheng once again and the two start fighting. Lu Guang arrives to get Tianchen away from Cheng but Tianchen tases him and takes him into a choke hold, threatening to kill him. Qiao Ling shows up as well. Tianxi speaks for the first time in years, repeating the sign language her brother taught her from before saying âI want to go homeâ. Qian Jin returns and shoots her from behind through the chest. - Cheng, Qiao and Tianchen all run to save her. Qian Jin tries to shoot Qiao Ling as revenge for the slap but Cheng blocks him and gets shot instead. Lu Guang charges at Qian Jin. While Tianxi is dying she begs Tianchen to run away and he does. Qiao Ling tries to go after him since heâs a murderer but is held back by Tianxi. Due to this, as Tianxi dies her powers are transferred to Qiao Ling. Cheng, Lu and Xiao all fight in hand-to-hand combat against Qian Jin until reinforcements arrive. Afterwards, Cheng and Lu are readmitted to the hospital and treated. - Li Tianchen sits on a bench and once again meets his âfriendâ from his childhood, Liu Xiao who returned from abroad. He asks Tianchen to now join him in his quest to âMake uncertainties certainâ. Tianchen doesnât really feels like he has a choice and follows, leaving behind his momâs phone and one of the last pieces of his childhood now that his sister is dead. - Once they get back from the hospital, the trio has cake. Lu Guang looks at Cheng and thinks about how he broke his own rules. We have no idea when or how long but at some point Cheng Xiaoshi gets killed. Similar to how Tianxiâs powers transferred to Qiao Ling, it appears like Chengâs powers transferred to Lu Guang and this is his âlast chanceâ to do things right. This could mean that the Lu Guang weâve known the entire series and the one who met Cheng playing basketball is the one who dived from the future, or maybe he dived sometime later. This also means that this current Lu Guang may be able to dive into photos as well, and weâve never seen it. Alright thatâs the end of everything so far I think. I didnât make this in one go I put it together while watching the series a second time through the reactions. Thereâs also some insane foreshadowing about Lu Guang from the 2 OPs and 2 EDs. I don't want any BS to happen with this anime. No scandals, no one passing away and no one getting fired and leaving. They clearly have a very long vision for the story and I hope they can complete it. S3 comes this October! P.S: Yes I have a life, this probably took me like an hour and a half total over the span of like 2 weeks.
