Girl From Nowhere Ep 2

ahh my thought process was correct lol

Comments

The anime Hell Girl, that’s what this series reminds me of.

Narutofreak94

i think she is just the living embodiment of consequences. if you dont do bad things you dont get bad consequences. she isnt seeing the future but testing people. via free will at any time any of these people (including in episode one) could have stopped themselves but they are all immoral so they dont. "she said i should lose weight? whatever" "the boy i like likes her? whatever" then nothing bad would have happened to them but they chose to do the utmost.

rickie woodson

I was just about to say Nanno reminds me a lot of Tomie from Junji Ito's stories

JsemicolonA

i just joined your patreon just for this series lol but to me nanno is Karma incarnated.

dani

oh wow that's terrible

Destiny Simon

i actually cant believe the girls were a part of that, but i do feel better knowing that nanno is unreal, so what's happening to her isnt really affecting her.

Destiny Simon

that was my first kdrama 🥺🥺🥺

Destiny Simon

So judging from what I witnessed in this episode Nanno is basically Karmic bait on a hook🪝 And her victims are all fish. Let me explain, Fish swimming in rivers, streams, ponds, lakes, seas or oceans have plenty of food they could eat. But the fish that fishermen catch are always the greediest of fish. Whatever happens to them afterwards are consequence of their greed. I'm guessing everything that happens to the people on this show are because of their own choices.

Jamaal Ellison

Looks like they did.

Jamaal Ellison

This show is like Hellgirl without the going to hell part.

Jamaal Ellison

its not that. its just that these characters might have done something similar like that before. or done it repeatedly (1st episode for example) its based on past actions. as for this episode. maybe the girls were close to making something happen wit another girl but she cancelled. nanno exists to be the next 'victim' in most episodes to see if these people really are cynical and punish them accordinly.

funkymew

you're not sorry, if you are, delete the comment tf

Moonie

This was a neat story, it's similar to the beginning of the Tomie collection of stories from Junji Ito!

GormleyPeach

Nanno is "trollin like a bitch, aint you tired?" personified lmao

Delinda Arts

I don’t know if she’s able to see the future, because the way I see it is that all of her targets would have eventually committed these crimes on someone else if she hadn’t shown up.

Quincy

I know they didn’t just make glasses girl the D.U.F.F. of the friend group. (Designated Ugly Fat Friend)

Quincy

Im sorry for spoilers 😭

ronnie

going to start recommending the kdrama "weightlifting fairy kim bokjoo"

Moonie

Nanno's actress, Chica Amatayakul, said her performance was inspired by Tomie.

lay

if she reads the future ,does she do it to protect someone else ,or is she judging them before they do the crime, kinda like that one Captain Marvel variant

Xavier Baker

schrodinger's doesn't really tie in with being nowhere and everywhere that much. just about the uncertainty of the state of something until it's revealed/perceived. The cat in the experiment is very much known to be where it is, and if something were to be "everywhere" it would be easily perceived. Nanno's seen and known clearly and there's no ambiguity to her physical existence so i dont think that tracks as much.

PolarToni

Extremely Tomie-coded.

Bria A.

I get liking the show, I’ve been campaigning for it for like a year, but you’re dropping spoilers for things that happen several episodes to a whole season out 😭 Roshi and co. have already said they straight up stop checking comments if they’re full of spoilers and people who can’t keep themselves in check. C’mon, I hate to disagree with a Chuu pfp, but tone it down a little lmao.

Bria A.

Just telling them that's she's the Karma, even with that in mind, and watching from episode 1, nothing spoiled at all. Still having fun of how the outcome XD

Kraivathin Kritaramrueng

Nanno is consequences plain and simple

Reckless Company

I haven't seen the show but, based on the title and what Nanno has demonstrated so far, I think she might be some manifestation of the concept behind the common interpretation of "Schrödinger's Cat". A paradoxical thought experiment, which basically states that you'll never know the truth of a circumstance until it is perceived. And in this case, it's tied together with the idea of being both "Nowhere and yet everywhere". This idea basically grants Nanno the qualities of this paradox, making her effectively immortal, as she was never technically there to begin with. Same with how she can just teleport herself to a previously empty location without anyone noticing, she was always technically there to begin with, Y'know? It's pretty cool.

Marc Williams

Those two girls are like the Thai Female Bill Cosby with how they used those pills

J Man

I just finished the first season of this. No spoilers of course, but I gotta say that psychotic laugh Nanno does be killing me, especially during the last ep.

Shakir Fo

I personally wanted to see something more concrete happening because i think they did a more grave crime than the first ep (murder + SA vs just SA) yet they literally didn't get much of a punishment since all nanno does is attend school everyday. They could literally just straight up ignore her or maybe after they graduate then they're free? Meanwhile in the first ep literally lost his entire family, his career and his reputation.

Random Guy

Look that at this Scooby-doo gang ass group, oh zoinks! lets looks for some clues on how to grape and kill this shorty 😭

sotonye ogan

It does feel more open-ended then the first one but personal theory is that nanno clones is just gonna keep tormenting them all till the die (maybe till they like k*ll themselves or smth?) while other real? Nanno goes to the other school in next episode.

Azula

Also guys can we pls not spoil anymore for the upcoming episodes sheera and roshi don't need that from their fans

Azula

Just wait these episodes get crazier and crazier and I for one cannot wait to see their reactions to the truly wtf shit happening lmao

Azula

She’s more Tomie I think. Considering how much the series borrows from the Ito classic.

Dooly

This has to be inspired by Tomie

faded

Would be funny if nanno is actually just a normal human and she has an entire crew of scientists, clones and armed people just standing by. Also it's probably just me, but the ending doesn't feel as satisfying as the first one because it doesn't actually feel like conclusive. I feel like they should've had an ending where there is definite conclusion, like maybe one of them just snitches on the police, or one of them goes insane and gets admitted to the mental asylum or maybe one of them can't take it and just jumps off the school building.

Random Guy

I'm not surprised it jumped to that. Teenagers can be cruel/not understanding the ramifications of their actions. The boys wanted sex, and the girls wanted revenge. They didn't care about Nanao getting hurt in the process. Teenagers, man. It was also definitely the first time, as the boys and the girls seem to barely know each other before Nanao came along. Also, a supposed first victim probably wouldn't have been killed, as she would have just been unconscious throughout the act, not laughing like Nanao. If that happened, we definitely would've seen the supposed first victim in this episode, like we did for Episode 1.

Imani Brooks

They're both skilled at different things. I think they're talking about how unhinged they both are.

Imani Brooks

Dude, spoilers.

Imani Brooks

yall are gonna LOVEREEEE the next episode 😭😭 its so good

ronnie

nanno doesn’t really feel emotions that’s why her laugh sounds like that. the only time she really showed emotion she was sad because she was leaving someone she liked (ep 8) the chubby girl was making comments to nano first (coming from a chubby girl) we don’t get a pass to say anything we want without any consequences.

ronnie

i think yall are gonna hate yuri 😭😭

ronnie

you think its like this because of her laugh

ronnie

yess nanno was inspired by tomie

ronnie

shes way more skilled thsn that 😭

ronnie

My theory is that everyone has their nanno. We are just seeing the stories of the most extreme ones.

Guns

she is just giving me Yumiko Jabami vibes BIG TIME

Norman kay10

The collateral damage was the father’s fault though. People don’t choose how karma manifests and actions have consequences for others

Venus

This was a nice twist on the movie "I Know What You Did Last Summer"... More like "I know what you did last night" this time

J Man

Oh wait until season 2

Kayla

Okay I've just been episode 3 and 4 and I'm like wtf is happening. The stuff that happens and the characters in this show. It's so wierd to me. 🤣 I'm like how does this make any sense?

KS Neelesh

Buckle up yall cause it’s gonna get weirder and weirder but yea she’s definitely karma

HONGJOONGIS DADDYASF

I honestly thought that Nanno would do nothing and just be hated...jealousy. But then one twist after another, it just turned into a "Tales from the Crypt" episode. Now I wish this show had a cheesy crypt keeper intro.

Huemon Nottabear

I’m hoping this show gets a little bit more campy. It’s definitely a dark comedy, but I’d love them to lean into it even more.

AnnaSama

The actress for Nanno said she took inspiration from Tomie in an interview

Dooly

She's giving me Tomie vibes.

Kwaku Afari

Liked this episode better than episode 1. Episode 1 was super uncomfortable and that collateral damage with the daughter. This one was a little disturbing, but at the same time it got funny once the Shadow Clones started haunting the kids

J Man

From a theory I read a while back she might be Lucifer’s daughter because of some of the stuff she can do

GoldenTrash108

Facts on that seen this years ago and it gets weirder and weirder.

Anton Chisolm

Real quick wasn't she like the daughter of the snake of eden

Justice

Vibes??? Is Nanno Skully?

J Man

Love this episode and reactions

Azula

nope, these are real crimes that happened (aside from nano obviously)

Yoxxhio

*i* don't even have good thoughts on yuri and i love this show lmao. for the sake of your reply but without spoilers, i just feel like out of all of the relationship dynamics they could've gone with between those characters, the one they chose was not it. but maybe let's not bring up anything until it actually becomes relevant.

Bria A.

i'm also very excited to hear their thoughts on yuri lol

cami ً

nanno already knows what's up every time she arrives at a new school - she's there to test people and she's stated to be "the snake of the garden of eden". she punishes those who give in and leaves alone those who don't. whenever her target acts on impulse or selfish desire, nanno laughs because they're giving in and that seals their fate pretty much lol especially since she always gives her targets multiple instances to back down and learn from what they've done

cami ً

Maybe it could have went smoother, unless this was the second time they may have done it 🤷. This was probably the first time then but it's crazy how they jumped to yep let's take her to a party and let the boys sleep with her because they hated her. While the boys were already hoping to get her alone and drunk at a party days before nanno made taew mad.

LaTesha

Yes sadly.

Jay

I didn't get that impression. I think it was more preventive. Like they would have eventually done it, but to an actual person, not whatever entity Nanao is. If they had done this before, I feel it would've gone much smoother.

Imani Brooks

Apparently their based on real situations which is nuts (from a comment above you)

TrinitytheApostle

I don’t think it’s going to win a poll even though majority of the comments wanted it that’s why I’m asking them to add it as a extra drama since it is short

Comet

oh shit really?

Sincerely, the Best.

My understanding is that those 5 ppl had done something like that before and so she showed up so she can be their next "victim"

LaTesha

Every episode is based on a true stories of victims and perpetrators within Thai High schools.

Jay

Is it just me or this show extreme for the sake of being extreme?🤣

KS Neelesh

I think the "thought process" of the original plan, if anything, was that she'd be humiliated into silence and just not say shit. Or be ostracized by the rest of the students once the rumors spread...and also not say shit. Scandals and other things involving reputation more or less get swept under the rug pretty intensely, especially if there's no law enforcement involved (or if they are and they're corrupt). Loved the reaction! Eps. 6-9 and 12/13 are the most insanely good run of episodes in my opinion, sometimes I just rewatch that section of the show lmao, I can't wait for you to get to them.

Bria A.

I can't wait for them to go further down this rabbit hole

SunnyShai

Violence

earthphoenix7068

from my understanding she can do anything. like she saw the groupchat without being in the group or having a phone out. thats why she smiled while they were texting

zILovePelmeni _

Some people has said that she represents Karma

Mari

Yehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Hasnain Khan

I hope they add to the next poll and it wins.

Haaa?

Just another day of requesting you to watch D.P. It’s a great drama. Also you in for a wild ride with The Girl from Nowhere
