Hello!
It's been a while since my last update on here so hope you're all doing well! Since early June I've spent 6 weeks or so looking into cloud transcoding and then was working on a few other things such as how best to take the project forwards.
This email contains some information on some upcoming changes to how the Tdarr Pro subscription works. I've decided to move off Patreon as I think it's something I can better manage myself without having to ha...

Hello!
Just an update to go through some of the changes to Tdarr this month. There haven't been as many new features added but I have been working on a few things to make Tdarr run better in the long run.
I spent a fair while converting all Tdarr modules (and the website) from JavaScript into Typescript which helped find and fix quite a few bugs. I've also slimmed down the number of Tdarr modules from five to three. As of 2.00.08, Tdarr_WebUI has been incorporated into Tdarr...

Hello!
Excuse the title pun but just wanted to send out another update as another month has gone by with some decent progress. I've added February's changelog below. There have been some nice usability improvements for a range of issues such as the 'Staged file limit' option as well as some big bug fixes (e.g. the Tdarr Node RAM issue). There are now also some extra stream stats for supporters.
The Tdarr V2 Updater system reached about 8Tb in downloads over the last month which is...

Greetings!
It's been another busy week on Tdarr v2. You'd be surprised at what bugs come up as the user base increases. For example, something as simple as copying a file proved to be an issue on linux_arm (now fixed). 40 or so issues have been closed/resolved on GitHub this month; many were requests/bugs from v1 so the repo is feeling much cleaner and I appreciate the help I've received. I've added the changelog from this week below.
Today I moved v2 into 'latest' for tdarr...

Hello!
As promised, Tdarr V2 is now out. You can find the setup instructions here:
http://tdarr.io/docs/
For those on Docker, from 31st Jan onwards, the 'latest' tag will contain Tdarr V2. Until then it will contain V1. Giving a 1-week heads-up.
It's been a pretty intense couple of months of working on V2 and I know that this release won't work for everyone but, as long as the Server and Nodes can read/write...

Hi!
Just another progress update for Tdarr v2 as it's finally all coming together and is beginning to work quite well (for some, still a few bugs to fix).
I couldn't find an embedded database which could do what I need so I've spent the last week or so improving the existing one. It now has built-in live-backup, UI statuses and is non-blocking so Tdarr can start up straight away without needing to read the db (makes a big difference for those with large libraries).
Per...

Hello!
I hope the festive period has been going well (or as well as it could be given the circumstances)!
Tdarr v2 is almost done :). This past week I've been testing the Docker containers with some of those on Discord (big thanks to them) and I'm going through the laborious process of ironing out final bugs and getting everything running smoothly across numerous platforms/environments. I've updated the UI and there are now 2 themes: 'Dark' and 'Medium' - looking to improve and ad...

Hello!
Just a quick update to say I've added 9 new Tdarr modules for various platforms. You can see the platform/module matrix here:
https://github.com/HaveAGitGat/Tdarr/tree/master/updater
Although you can double click to run, it's best to run those modules through a terminal so you can see what's going on.
I haven't changed much in the modules since ...

Hello!
As promised, I've put up a preview version of v2 for Windows (win32_x64):
https://github.com/HaveAGitGat/Tdarr/blob/master/updater/README.md
It's still quite rough but it allows you to see how the new modular/node system works. Tdarr_Updater is a cross-platform module handler with a config similar to this:
config...

Hello!
The 16 days since my last update have gone by far too quickly but I have some exciting info to go through. Last time, I mentioned "this work may not make much practical difference" but that is now false! There have been some big changes to the scope of the project:
1. Modularisation, nodes and horizontal scaling.
The old version of Tdarr is 'vertically scalable': you can increase the power of your hardware and scale up the number of workers to ma...

Hello!
A big welcome to all the supporters who have joined over the last few weeks. Over 150 pledgers is a big milestone!
Just an update to say that last week I started working on Tdarr again. I've had a think about the best changes to make going forward - the most significant application gripes/hindrances for me are the following:
1.Needing a separate database (MongoDB). This is quite annoying if you're not using Docker and can be confusing for n...

Hi all,
Unfortunately, I've had some things come up so I need to put this project on hold until I have more time to work on it again. I've paused billing on Patreon so you won't be charged at the end of the month but you can continue logging into Tdarr as normal. I'll send out an update when I start working on things again.
Sorry for the inconvenience but hope I can get back to this soon.

Hi all,
I've just released 1.3003 into pro_latest which I've been working on for the last couple of weeks or so - it offers some huge performance improvements across several core aspects of Tdarr when using it with large libraries (30,000+ files).
For those not in the Discord room, these changes were mainly implemented due to morpheus2n2 having trouble with a 100,000+ file library on Windows whereby the system would lock-up indefinitely, especially when running a 'Scan (Find...

Hi all,
I've had some good feedback from the latest Tdarr update (1.2068), glad it's working well - aside from the 'Output Folder' option which I'll be working on next (I recommend not using it at the moment)
I've just updated the website so it no longer just shows 'Coming soon...' and I'll be posting/updating documentation on there. The Tdarr installation instructions can be found at https://tdarr.io/docs/inst...

Hi all,
I've just released a pretty big update to pro_latest and pro_1.2064 which addresses quite a few bugs and adds some new features. All in all, there have been changes to 57 files with 4,896 additions and 4,346 deletions.
The biggest change is to how much RAM Tdarr uses. In my mock 100,000 library test, with each file having a reasonable 4 streams, Tdarr used 504MB RAM - just above the target. At 200,000 files it used 950MB while building the queues in just 12 seconds whereas...

Hi all,
Apologies for the update delay. I was a bit under the weather at the end of week 3 (week before last) and moved house at the weekend just gone so have only just gotten my internet up and running.
Some urgent issues have come up regarding the RAM usage of Tdarr as it has become quite high in recent updates. This is due to all extra information being collected from files using exifTool and mediaInfo (as well as FFprobe). I've set a goal of limiting Tdarr to 500MB of RAM (exc...

Hi all,
Once again, thanks for supporting the project and welcome to those who have joined recently!
Below is a summary of the changes that have taken place in the last week or so. As I mentioned previously, I've been working on some bigger changes to the way workers operate so the release updates haven't been as frequent. These changes involve making it so files are fully processed by all plugins before leaving the transcode cache as well as processing plugins within worke...

Hi all,
Thanks for supporting this project, I really appreciate it!
Below is a summary of the changes that have taken place in the last week or so.
This coming week I want to continue fixing any small bugs and then start working on some big changes to the ways workers operate (for example, not putting files back in the original folder until all plugins have processed the file). Please message if you have any issues!
Thanks,
HGG

I've just updated the tdarr:pro_latest login system so now it puts you back to exactly the same page you were on (through tdarr.io) in case you're using different host/domain names and ports to localhost:8265. It's also a bit quicker and has some statuses and animations to let you know what it's doing.
Cheers,
Roy (HGG)
