The story is pretty mid and just "there" because... well it just needs a story, I think the by far best part about this show are the characters and the situations and just this world with this morbidly real super hero society playing out like it is. Sure a good story here and there doesnt hurt but I mainly want to see characters interact with eachother and just see "crazy/awesome/creative stuff happen" it is kinda like JoJo's in that regard, the writing is really really good at times but thats it and it shouldnt overly focus on following the typicall drama story structure, I'd rather have all this stupid and crazy shit happening with the occasionally spread out good moments and story beads.

I'm glad they announced season 5 as the final season so the show doesn't get dragged into the mud by being stretched out. Whether they decide to kill butcher at the end of this season and kill homelander as the series finale, or the opposite, it'd be a good ending. The director said this season was the craziest one yet so I've been expecting the freakiness but goddamn. Also Sheera was totally right with the Joe theory lmao. I brushed it off because Butcher got documents from him which didn't really make sense if he was in his mind but I guess he got them some other way. The references are also getting kinda crazy someone's gonna try and cancel this show for real 😭

But I have come to realise this show is a whole gag like Family Guy, nothing has progressed but nothing has been lost so when they decide to take the plot serious they will let us know -prolly with s5 as the final season. In the meantime lets enjoy the boys cuz is so peak!! three's 2 episodes left we got to take down HL so what do we have? we got man eating his own ass, sexually assaulting Hughie for comedy, Annie being fucking useless, a-train doing most of the work, squirting breast milk, another useless Frenchie/Kimiko subplot, parody political niggas, ; Cant wait for what's to come next.

But that's not realistic, and anyone who's had more than a few close relationships in their lives knows that people regress and let you down and go back their bad old habits all the time. Butcher, Starlight, Frenchie, Huey, so many characters are letting us down and making bad choices, but in believable and complex ways that open up new aspects of their characters.

Not a huge fan of some of the stuff this season, which is a shame because I'm liking the stuff with Homelander, Sage, Firecracker, A-Train, and the way things are getting worse in general. Before, it seemed like the fucked up moments were there to serve the plot and be humorous, but now it feels like 100% shock value that goes on for 5-10+ minutes of screentime when we could be watching something else. I'm fine with ridiculous stuff, the sheep last episode were fun, but this episode just made me feel uncomfortable and gross, and not in the typical way this show does.
