Like no one was just standing there and taking hits, yeah they knew martial arts but there weren't crazy ridiculous combos like you see in other shows.

Also nah, dude's hair was pink. But the two people (including him) they conveniently kept in shadow makes me think this is another tag team duo with powers. Narrative foils and that kind of thing?

It's in regards to a law in China to prevent parents from killing their daughters if they find out the baby was female, which was way to common to laugh at. I'm half black half Chinese, and my mother told me horror stories about what happened to a lot of newborn girls in China (this was mostly from poorer families who couldn't afford China's "one child rule" which was a tax to slow down population growth. Families would prefer to have a son due to wanting another worker around the house, as well as good luck) Thankfully my mom has a bunch of brothers and sisters because my mom, uncs, and aunties were born before 1980. I do have younger family members who were willing to pay the tax tho. China introduced a law because the female population was declining. That didn't stop parents from still doing horrible things, but it did sorta help. Props to the show's couple for actually wanting to have a daughter (there's also a weird Buddhist "good luck" thing that says that encourages a first born son. Again, real life horror stories I heard from my mom and aunties)
