I heard so many people complaining about this season that I decided to wait for at least 20 or so episodes to come out to watch it, I watched it all in 3 days and I thought it was super normal, obviously is not as good as the first season but for me this season is literally the same as the second. . I really don't understand all this complaining about meetings and conversations in an anime that has been like this since the beginning. Maybe for reactions it's different but for regular viewers doesn't make any sense, seems like people just want to hate and that's it.

this is a major spoiler so dont read ahead if you dont want to get spoiled *SPOILER* the black numbers arc is the only thing thats going to be interesting ahead of this anime. however, the sad part is that it could take 2 more season before they animate it given that they dont skip content on rimuru. the next arc would be helping another nation and still building relationship type thing before we get to black numbers. and with black numbers there are long meetings thatll be put in. but those meetings are the ones that we want to see because red will be in it and will reveal the history of black number ( black numbers are the demon like diablo and those who will be recruited by diablo) once the black numbers are introduce, thats the time that the story gets interesting again. so you may not really make it till the end of this season

Nah, I'm a huge fan of the LN as a whole. It was just this section that made me quit. Mostly because Vol 8 was super boring (festival prep), then an 8.5 with some old stories, then Vol 9 was more festival prep. I ended up dropping it for about two years so that the English releases could get further ahead. Vol 10 is where things started to pick back up and from there it just took off and stayed great the whole way through

It depends on the original work most of the time in this case most of the season is probably going to be explaining multiple factions and how people exist in this world. For example what is the church?, what are angels? Why are their dragon with human forms when veldora was still a dragon?. Between that an explanation on what gifts are for those sent from another world.

The big problem in my opinion is that the show ignored a lot of exposition that was supposed to happen in season 1-2 but skipped it. Now that that exposition is getting important they have to dump it all and it gets tedious. it's weird cause especially in season 2 there were a lot of scenes that seemed dragged out and yet they could have used that time to convey some useful info.

Like re zero it has a story for the alternate route where the maids love confession is accepted and they live together. Slime and jobless show why the main character is important to the universe and what would happen if he didn't exist. Their fun to to read but no manga or illustrations will be done. Unless done by fans. 90 percent of the anime is covered through the manga. The manga is fast pace than the light novel.

It's the same as shield hero and jobless reincarnation. It's not pacing it's set up work. You need to establish all the key players and factions so certain events and issues make sense. In sheid hero you need to explain or show the other land to set up and explain most of the internal conflict that cause world events to change. In jobless reincarnation explaining the outside factors is done to show that the alternative timeliness exist. For example if the parents were the ones saved and Roxy dies it leads to one of the bad endings for the series. So keeping her alive prevent the main character from becoming evil.

I hate it when they get you all invested with a banger start to the series and then it just... goes downhill. Shield Hero was the same, loved season 1 but they MAJORLY deviated from the source material(I don't care if it's what the LN did, and if they did then the LN is trash for that arc compared to the manga), plus they cut out loads and I means LOADS of stuff. I literally just checked, Season 1 for shield hero has 25 episodes, that's the same amount as seasons 2 and 3 combined! Bruh, WTF? I'm getting tired of the anime adaptations being trash because of this issue, if you can't properly adapt it with the stupid 12 episode limit then either have it(god forbid) have more episodes or just don't do it at all. I am personally still pissed off from last Episode... Like Rimuru AND Raphael concluded that Yuuki was the Mastermind like 2 seasons ago, but never brought it up again, then SOMEONE ELSE (Hinata) says oh yeah Yuuki is suspicious and Rimuru is like, "what? No way, let me send him an invite to our Festival, we are best buddies.." Like they keep rehashing EVERY piece of information 3-4 times but Rimuru still flip-flopping on such a major piece of information that he already HAD, about Yuuki being bad.. and then there is fkn Raphael that got NERFED to hell cause its radio silent when all the stupidity is going on, or else it woulda caught all the idiotic assumptions that characters were making, even fkn Rimuru being a major culprit for not having much of a clue about anything but Raphael isn't even helping/correcting him anymore. Rimuru's Ultimate Skill: Raphael doing its JOB woulda cut the season down to 4 episodes, LMAO.

Honestly, this would have been better if the first cour is phased properly. I feel like half of the first cour has been a drag. I’m currently at Vol 16 of the LN and I only watch this anime at certain points because of how the phasing is done in this show. It's a TON of exposition. They needed to adapt to the medium, not read the LN to us. It's amazing to me that they dragged out every meeting to dump every ounce of cheap exposition on us, but cut the very interesting scene at the castle in Falmuth when diablo first sent the king back. There's a few other spots where they cut good stuff out. And bro had a great point, Vinland Saga S2 was amazing, but very little action. That's obviously not what people are upset about.

Skipping the dialogue is literally the opposite of what I am saying. I want the writing to be more succinct and for the show to do more showing and less telling. I understand that a certain amount of exposition is expected, but this has been insane. From a more practical standpoint, reactors need something to react to. Overly long conversations with information often being repeated isn't interesting to watch. So it is difficult to make good reaction content out of it. I've read the LN and think this adaptation is doing a poor job of telling a good story this season.

I promise you Konosuba is gas straight to the end. Doesn't get dragged out, or rushed in the LN and is funny right up to the end. But yes, most of these fizzle out. Honestly having read the LNs up to what's available on the Slime Reader site, there's plenty of action in the future but to me the story just wasn't there. I don't see great things in the future of this series after having seen this season. It's hard to think of any isekai that lasts very long, inuyasha maybe.

Honestly, I wouldn't even blame y'all. This is the point in the LN where I tapped out for a few years because even then, it was boring as shit. However, this is also the point where all of the events of future seasons begin, so I would recommend powering through it if you wanna pick the show back up for next season. A lot of the new characters introduced in this arc are still around and very relevant even in the current LN volumes

People want engaging exposition, not to feel like they’re in class having their knowledge tested about tidbits from 10 eps ago. I’m all for slow shows. Someone else mentioned Vinland Saga S2 which is an example of a slow show done well. And if you like Slime that’s totally fine. Just, try to understand why other people don’t.

The only time I felt the pace was weird was literally just this episode because of the timing on it. Everything else has landed for me completely fine. Some of ya'll are clearly not interested and invested and thats fine. thats because these kind of shows have their limits. OP mc who grows stronger and stronger every arc can easily get tiring and overdone. In the end, we all know Rimuru gonna get stronger and thats it. Its a slice of life at this point with conflicts that have the stakes of any other isekai. Theres no mystery or drama that keeps you hooked like Rezero. No adventure or character growth like Mushouku. Neither does it have the comedy and breath of fresh air like Konosuba. Slime is honestly the less interesting version of Overlord with the exception that it had wide range of characters and better world building. And ppl defending it saying theres build up is a bad reason. Thats like saying Vinland s2 is bad for the first part because it was farmland saga. But it wasnt. It was a great season from start to finish. Even the "slow" parts were meaningful and impactful and had great character development and introduction. Slime just ran out of interesting things since it got to this point. Literally no isekai that reached this point has anything interesting to offer.

"The times they are a changin." Back in the late 80's to mid 90's, animated shows HAD to grab their audience out the gate. That's why there were so many fire cartoon intros. Anime isn't always going to be 86 or Vinland Saga, ect...nor should it be. But, think about Misfit, Shield Hero, Ninja Kamui as a recent example, strong starts and sticking the landing are equally important. For me, this feels like Demon King Academy in which there was a good payoff at Season 2's end but it was so much apathy getting there. I like these characters way more but the apathy, I get it.

To each their own this whole series is built on exposition and world building. Rimuru clearly stated he just wants to live in a comfortable world. Hell they even made a slice of life spinoff with the diaries series. Theres like 50+ other action packed series so this is a nice change of pace for me since again I love all these characters and love seeing them in different engagements and talking points.

It's weird because there's so much exposition and a lot of it is important and fascinating, but the way it's been handled has not been the greatest. There are really so many small details that play such an important role later down the line that you may not catch because the way in which it's all being delivered is just not holding a majority of the audience's attention. I think all the preparations for the festival can actually be rather lighthearted and fun, but this is my opinion from reading the light novels. It's kept my interest, simply because I know what's to come. A large portion of that actually stems from how crazy powerful Ramiris is, and the shenanigans that come from the dungeon will hopefully be really cool as they expand on that in the next episode or so. I hope you'll stick with it. They're really emphasizing this calm before the storm, but when things get serious again, it'll be worth it.

DBZ would stretch out the fights we saw in 2 episodes this season of slime into 6 or 7 episodes. Both shows are better suited for binging instead of waiting week by week.
