2024-07-12 03:24:12 +0000 UTCWell Tanjiro did train for two years just to get into the final selection and unless everyone had such a dedicated teacher they didn't get the same training. Plus he's trained at the Hashira base and has serious battle experience that they don't come close too. The show does make them look really weak though by comparing them to Tanjiro but I think that's the point in order to inspire them. They automatically think they are going to lose because of who they are fighting, a powerful Hashira, so even if they are capable fighters they are psyching themselves out and that's going to get them killed against a demon. I don't think they are trash though lol.

Obanai and Sanemi seemed to respect his sword skills specifically, that's why they went 2v1 in a SPARRING session. I personally would not take that to mean he would whoop them in a real fight

Considering demon slayer also uses cg effects for all of their fights it's also not big budget. Most of the scenes of the city are also cg landscapes with a chase camera. Demon slayer mainly only hand animates talking scenes or the parts in between battle. Not saying their cg is bad I think it's the most well incorporated cg in the anime industry because ufotable is really good at blending and also texturing their cg models but again it takes significantly less time to animate than drawing out each frame.

I'd say this arc takes place in either late 1913 or early 1914. There are bits scattered throughout the story that corroborate it to a decent degree, but I don't feel like rewatching the series start to finish for the 8th actual time just to make this comment to be 100% accurate. Another thing is that the mark is similar to Yoriichi and Koku, which we know that their's are residual as well. Also, Mitsuri in base still seems to be trash in infinity castle and up to halfway through sunrise. There's more evidence proving that only Tanjiro's is residual and it seems disingenuous to say they all function the same, when he's the only one we've seen grow in base and the rest of them seem to stay at around the same level
