The whole maximus situation as well I'm definitely a big advocate for following the cycle of violence but just on the people who did it to me not a new recruit to gain favor. I know some people might believe that gets you nowhere and while that may be true I'm still throwing hands regardless but yeah maximus was being extra I would of just hopped out the suit and threw the ones with thaddeus in the past he was getting jumped thaddeus for sure would fold.

The only reason Thaddeus beat up Maximus is because Thaddeus himself was beat up at training, and wanted to power-trip while he could. Maximus only beats up and fucks with Thaddeus because Maximus was beat up in training and wants to power trip while he can. In that regard they are the same. It’s about the cycle of violence. Maximus literally says the only reason he joined the brotherhood is so he can hurt the people that hurt him. The point of Thaddeus as a foil is to show you that just hurting the people that hurt you doesn’t fix anything, and in general just means that person is gonna go hurt someone else later down the road.

2024-05-12 00:03:57 +0000 UTCHe grew up in the Brotherhood of Steel, in the wasteland basically a religious tech cult that’s made him just as naive as a Vault Dweller would be, he’s been bullied and basically sheltered and then gets a little taste of power despite having a hero complex. Is Lucy shitty because she cut off the Scientist head to bring it to Moldaver? He was jealous because he felt like he deserved his friend’s position, that’s a human emotion known as jealously. But ultimately he’s still a naive little boy that doesn’t understand things outside of the outpost he grew up on, and kids literally act on emotions and impulse that doesn’t make them shitty that makes them inexperienced in life. Not gonna spoil anything. But the whole point of Fallout is to show how the apocalypse brings out the worst in people when it comes to surviving, making every choice morally grey and “shitty” decisions made by even good people.

In the last episode (i think you missed it cause it was a moment where you were commenting on something) but they said the suit he was wearing is 'inspired by his colours' (i.e. his cowboy gear colours). Additionally, in the shoot for the ad the 'thumbs up' pose wasn't even a thing, the people present just told him to do whatever and the shot stayed on the thumb shot in the end. Simply put, the implication is that he was the real life inspiration for the Pib Boy mascot. So there's an additional level of deep hatred whenever he sees it. It's literally him. It’s also why in the first episode he felt so uncomfortable about doing it when the guys asked him to do it for a picture.

And just an added Tidbit English is the only language I know and I would also like the subtitles slightly larger because they're hard to read and Im half deaf so subtitles help a ton when I cant hear the actors or they're being talked over.

Lucy is idealistic and naive, whereas the ghoul is pessimistic, nihilistic and jaded. But he clearly USED to have similar values to Lucy before the apocalypse so they contrast/compare to each other very well. Maximus as the third proatag, feels kinda shallow... like he obviously has a sort of hero complex that compels him to act, but it always feels like his motives are shallow...

Given that we have 3 protagonists, I actually think The Ghoul is the one who's arc is going to make him a better person, given that he knows what life was like before the war AND he had a daughter, so Lucy being naive and chasing after her dad might hit a soft spot kind of like Joel and Ellie. Lucy will get the typical fool's journey where she starts out naive and comes out more mature and experienced. That leaves Maximus with the other classic arc, or "The Fall" - I think his whole character is actually going to be about being corrupted by power. The ambiguity of whether he was the one that fucked up homegirl's leg in episode one hints towards that. Granted, I refuse to watch ahead of the trio, so if you finished and knowing spoilers changes your opinion, don't tell me why lol.

For example mirelurks don’t exist in the west coast they only have “lakelurks” which are mirelurk kings aka fish people. Seems to be a different sub-species. I’m sad there’s no cazadors, deathclaws, nightstalkers, geckos, etc. My main gripe with the show is there aren’t enough mutant animals

I can kinda understand from his background and see his arc going to make him a better person... but it sucks that he's so unlikable. 2024-05-08 00:10:45 +0000 UTCI disagree, it is the happy-go-lucky attitudes of the vault residents and their complete lack of ability to read their situation or ask questions about literally anything that is freaky to me. It feels cult-like. Norm is one of the only people having a measured response to the slaughter that occured in episode one, especially if the vaults are pushed into more of a survival scenario. The fact that the overseerers are not trying to be transparent and investigative of how this could even occur (or what happened to the other vaults) would make me incredibly suspicious and uneasy as a vault resident. They should be compassionate to the raiders of course, because they are correct, they are only raiders because of their environment and lack of education. But the lack of self preservation or long term thinking is very alarming among the more oblivious vault residents, and it shows the shortcomings of a society incubating without any real conflict for generations.

I love you guys, but how many shows with incredibly intricate and nuanced characters have you watched and yet you still have this black and white view of situations. The point is that , goofy as they may be, the vaults are the last points of actual well maintained organised civilazation, which is why the thought of killing people would never occur to them. Thats crazy shit and thats how you do your own thing while also keeping in line and consistent with the rest of the universe(the show is indeed canon to the games and currently takes place the furthest in the series timeline after 4 and NV)
